Abstract

Maceration of Celery leaves using 96% ethanol solvent was used to make the extract. Toothpaste is formulated with carboxymethylcellulose and alginate binders. The active ingredient in the form of ethanol extract from Celery leaves has the potential for antibacterial. This study was to evaluate the concentration of carboxymethylcellulose alginate in the preparation of antiseptic toothpaste of ethanol extract from Celery leaves. Evaluation of production results consisted of organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, foam formation, acidity and viscosity. The higher the concentration of carboxymethylcellulose, the lower the foam and spreadability and the higher the viscosity, while the alginate concentration is the opposite. Carboxymethylcellulose alginate affects the evaluation parameters of antiseptic toothpaste preparations ethanol extract of Celery leaves

Abstract

Kopi mengandung polyphenol sebagai senyawa antioksidan. Kandungan yang terdapat pada temu giring adalah senyawa alkaloida, flavonoida, triterpenoida, saponin dan tanin sebagai antioksidan. Jahe mengandung gingerol, beta-caroten, asam mengandung gingerol, beta-caroten, asamkafeat, curc kafeat, curcumin sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan dari p umin sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan dari penelitian enelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah minuman kopi yang dikombinasikan dengan ekstrak jahe ( Zingiber officinale) dan ekstrak temu giring (Curcuma heyneana) memiliki kapasitas antioksidan dan disukai oleh sukarelawan. Penelitian ini secara eksperimental dalam menyiapkan minuman kopi yang menggabungk menggabungkan ekstrak jahe ekstrak jahe dan ekstrak temu ekstrak temu giring dan giring dan mendemonstrasi mendemonstrasikan penemuan simplisia, penemuan simplisia, produksi produksi ekstrak ekstrak jahe dan temu giring, giring, serta optimasi optimasi formula formula menggunaka menggunakan SLD ( simplex simplex lattice lattice design) dan melakukan survey survey responden responden pada setiap formula. Rendemen simplisia jahe 500 g dan temu giring 750 g giring 750 g dengan berat ekstrak jahe sebanya dengan berat ekstrak jahe sebanyak 88,8 g k 88,8 g dan berat ekstrak temu giring sebanyak 98, dan berat ekstrak temu giring sebanyak 98,2 g. Penentuan optimasi formula menggunakan SLD didasarkan pada aktivitas antioksidan formula yang optimal, yaitu rasio jahe : temu giring (1/4 : optimal, yaitu rasio jahe : temu giring (1/4 : 3/4) formula II dan hasil formula II dan hasil hedonist masing-masing formula adalah formula IV dengan rasio jahe : temu giring (3/4 : 1/4)

Abstract

Background: Herb Binara has potential as an antimicrobial against Staphylococcus aureus, because this plant has several compounds that have medicinal properties, including: alkaloids, saponins and flavonoids. This compound can act as a natural antibiotic. Objective: The study was aimed at finding out whether Binara extract has antibacterial potential. Methods: The study was carried out using a disc diffusion system to assess the antibacterial potential of Binara herbal extract. Antibacterial potency is based on the area of obstruction around the disc. The study used four extract concentrations (20, 40, 60, and 80%), clindamycin, and DMSO. Results: Test results for the antibacterial potential of the ethanol extract of Binara herb at a concentration of 80; 60; 40; and 20% each show the resistance area is 12.90; 10.50; 9.00; and 8.10 mm. Conclusion: Binara herb ethanol extract has potential as an antibacterial with moderate to strong potency criteria

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Iklim tropis negara Indonesia karena terletak di daerah khatulistiwa yang memberi peluang berbagai tanaman tumbuh dengan subur, termasuk buah-buahan. Umumnya, vitamin C merupakan salah satu kandungan yang terdapat pada buah-buahan, yang berperan sebagai antioksidan. Sekian banyaknya buah-buahan, slah satunya buah semangka (Citrullus vulgaris Schard). Buah semangka juga dimanfaatkan untuk menurunkan tekanan darah bagi penderita hipertensi, karena kandungan air dan kaliumnya yang tinggi sehingga mampu menstabilisasikan tekanan darah. Tujuan: Tujuannya untuk mendeteksi keberadaan dan kuantitas vitamin C pada daging dan kulit buah semangka merah dan kuning. Metode: Metode yang digunakan meliputi uji kualitas dan kuantitas masing-masing dengan pereaksi warna dan spektrofotometri UV. Hasil: Penelitian memberi informasi pada daging dan kulit buah semangka terdapat vitamin C dengan tanda ada perubahan warna maupun pengendapan kuning-merah bata dan coklat. Vitamin C dari daging dan kulit buah semangka merah dan kuning masing-masing adalah 50,688; 42.482; 34.764; dan 42,152 gr/L. Kesimpulan: Daging maupun kulit buah semangka merah dan kuning ditemukan vitamin C.

Abstract

Background: The rapid development of technology has changed various aspects of human life, including the health sector. Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital utilizes the Hospital Information System (SIRS) to simplify information management and management in the hospital. Objectives: The research in this thesis aims to find out how the hospital information system (SIRS) affects the service performance of the media recording work unit at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2024. Research method: The research method used is a qualitative approach with structured interviews and qualitative data analysis Results: The research results show that SRIS has an important role in improving the service performance of the medical records unit at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. SRIS helps in collecting, recording, processing and analyzing medical record data which facilitates the medical service process. In this way, SRIS can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of media services, as well as improve the quality of services provided to patients. Conclusion: The conclusion of this research is that SIRS has a strategic role in improving the service performance of the medical records work unit at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. Therefore, Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital must continue to increase the use of SIRS to improve the quality of medical services provided to patients.

Abstract

Background: The availability of drugs currently creates demand for medical services. Drug logistics management in hospitals includes stages such as planning, procurement, storage, distribution, processing, evaluation and monitoring, and are interdependent on each other so that they must be well coordinated so that each stage can run optimally. Objectives: Knowing the Implementation of Drug Logistics Management in Hospital Pharmacy Installations Surya Insani Research method: Qualitative descriptive research with a cross-sectional approach. Results: In the input  component, There is a positive and significant relationship between training and employee performance. To ensure the quality of supplies and extend the life of equipment, there must be a sufficient budget for purchasing drugs and maintaining drug storage facilities and other related equipment. Guaranteed to be sensitive to measurements and meet requirements, lighting, and calibrate certain equipment annually. In the Process component, planning, procurement, storage, distribution, processing, control. The composition of output, the availability of drugs at the Surya Insani is in accordance with demand, but there are still some drugs that are sometimes not available because the distributor or PBF warehouse runs out of stock. The results of the study also showed that the adequacy of planned drugs and the number of drugs available during the inventory period are important and appropriate when needed. In addition, at the Surya Insani Pasir Pangaraian Hospital. There are still many damaged or expired drugs. This shows that drug management, both input and drug administration processes, still need to be evaluated so that drug management at the Surya Insani Pasir Pangaraian Hospital  can be effective and efficient. Conclusion: The availability of drugs at the Pharmacy Installation of Surya Insani Hospital is in accordance with needs.

Abstract

Background: Red dragon fruit holds promise as a natural dye alternative due to its anthocyanin content. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the potential of ethanol extract from red dragon fruit as a dye in Lip Balm formulations and investigate how varying the concentration of this extract affects the formula. Method: The study involved extracting the dye from red dragon fruit and incorporating it into a Lip Balm preparation using natural fruit-based dyes. Results: The findings indicated that the red dragon fruit extract yielded favorable results after undergoing various tests, including organoleptic evaluation, homogeneity, melting point, irritation, and user preference. Conclusion: The extract of red dragon fruit can be utilized as a dye in Lip Balm formulations. The resulting colors range from pink to dark red, with higher concentrations of the extract producing more intense colors in the final Lip Balm product containing ylang-ylang flower oil (Cananga oil)

Abstract

Background: Paracetamol, a widely used analgesic and antipyretic medication, is commonly prescribed in government healthcare facilities. The FTIR method provides rapid measurements by analyzing spectral graphs that reveal the functional groups within the tested compounds. According to the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia, VI Edition 2020, paracetamol content in tablet formulations must range between 90.0% and 110.0%. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the paracetamol content in tablet preparations and assess their compliance with the 2020 Indonesian Pharmacopoeia standards and the packaging labels. Method: The research was conducted experimentally using FTIR spectroscopy. A solvent mixture of ethanol and distilled water (1:1) was employed, with analyses performed over the wavelength range of 4000–400 cm⁻¹. Results: The paracetamol content was found to be highest in tablet B (100.33 ± 1.003%), followed by tablet A (100.29 ± 1.002%), tablet D (100.24 ± 1.002%), and tablet E (100.14 ± 1.001%), with the lowest levels observed in tablet C (99.69 ± 0.996%). Method validation indicated an RSD value of 0.056%, confirming that the procedure was accurate and reliable. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that the FTIR method is suitable for the quantitative analysis of paracetamol in tablet formulations. Moreover, the results meet the standards outlined in the 2020 VI Edition of the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia.

Abstract

Jamu Gendong is a traditional drink that has the potential to be contaminated with worms, parasites, bacteria, fungi, viruses and rickettsia. Sources of contaminants include materials, equipment, facilities, personnel, animals and production environments, so their efficacy is questionable. The activity was carried out in the form of providing information on the implementation of sanitation and hygienic production to 38 Jamu Gendong traders in Tebing Tinggi City, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The material was delivered using illustrated power point media to facilitate the delivery of increased understanding of sanitation and hygiene, including objectives, benefits, programs, fixed procedures, disinfectant and washing materials as well as documentation in accordance with RI POM Regulation Number 31, 2022. Activities were carried out on April 29, 2024 and received positive responses from all participants. Activities are expected to be sustainable so that the Jamu Gendong produced is of higher quality.

Abstract

Aspirin or acetylsalicylic acid is a class of NSAIDs stable in dry air, in humid air aspirin will over time hydrolyze or decompose into salicylic acid and acetic acid, with the decomposition of aspirin levels that contained in the preparation will experience degradation. Acetylsalicylic acid needs to be made in the form of thin-coated or film-coated tablets. In this research, the method used was tablet coating, followed by evaluation tests of core tablets and coated tablets. The results of this study indicate that amiloCorn starch pectin can be used as a thin layer and enteric coating. The coated tablet formulation from corn starch amylopectin has evaluation test results, namely the formula 1 tablet hardness test is 4.28 kg, formula 2 is 4.94 kg, formula 3 is 4.63 kg, size uniformity test is the diameter and thickness of formula 1 is 10.93 and 3.67 mm, formula 2 is 11.33 and 3.98 mm, formula 3 was 10.95 and 3.70 mm, average weight uniformity test for formula 1 was 389.5 mg, formula 2 was 399.5 mg, formula 3 was 393 mg, disintegration time test for formula 1 in stomach medium was 13, 31 minutes, formula 2 in the stomach medium 20.25 minutes, formula 3 in the intestinal medium 2.44 minutes, dissolution test for formula 1 in 120 minutes the solubility of the active substance reached 84%, formula 2 was 82%, formula 3 was 3% and intestinal dimedium within 210 minutes. The best formula, namely formula 3, meets the requirements for coated film.
