Abstract

This paper describes the improvement of students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of the Snowball Throwing learning model. Snowball Throwing is a learning model that uses a sheet of paper and subsequently kneads it into a round shape resembling a ball, a question ball that is ready to be thrown to another student, and the students who have received the question ball must answer the question according to the allocated time. The research in this paper is Classroom Action Research, which is carried out in collaboration between the researchers and teachers. The research design is the Kemmis & Taggart model. Each cycle consists of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted at SDN 1 Beluk with the subject of 18 fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Beluk, which consists of 11 female and 7 male students. Data collection techniques of the research include observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The research was conducted in two cycles, namely Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. In Cycle I, the average student score was 65.34 increased to 78.60 in Cycle II. The completeness of students’ learning outcomes increased from Cycle 1 at 66.6% of the number of students who completed the test and in Cycle II at 83.4% of the number of students who completed the test.

Abstract

Education is a learning process that takes place in the form of teaching and learning activities, where in these activities there is interaction between educators and students. However, in reality, learning is still dominated by educator-centered lecture methods, so that two-way interaction and active involvement of students are not optimal. The use of Canva-based interactive learning media is one of the alternatives to overcome this problem. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method which aims to produce a product in the form of canva-based interactive teaching media and test the feasibility and effectiveness of improving student learning outcomes in grade III Mathematics subjects. According to validation tests involving material experts, media experts, and small group trials, it showed a feasibility percentage of 92.66% with a very feasible category. Based on the results of the pre-test, it was obtained that students who achieved 55% completeness while the post-test results were obtained that students who achieved completeness were 85%. This shows that there is an increase in completeness by 30%. Thus, the development of Canva-based interactive teaching media can be used as an innovative solution in improving learning outcomes in mathematics subjects.

Abstract

This community service program provided training for elementary school teachers at SDN 2 Prambanan, Klaten, to develop student worksheets (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik/LKPD) aligned with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach within the Merdeka Curriculum. The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ knowledge and skills in designing CRT-based LKPD. Nineteen teachers participated. The program employed Participatory Action Research (PAR) consisting of three stages: (1) demonstration of CRT-oriented LKPD design, (2) guided practice and mentoring, and (3) discussion and reflection. Teachers produced LKPD drafts in small groups and presented their work for peer and facilitator feedback. Product quality was assessed using an LKPD rubric. The results indicate that teachers were able to apply CRT principles in worksheet development, with an average score of 84.4%, categorized as very good. Participants also reported high engagement and expressed confidence to integrate the CRT approach in classroom learning. Overall, the training strengthened teachers’ competence in designing contextual and culturally responsive learning materials for elementary education.
