Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ low skills in writing descriptive texts, caused by difficulties in finding and developing ideas, limited collaborative activities, and the suboptimal use of engaging learning media. This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Think Talk Write learning model combined with the Pinterest application on students’ ability to write descriptive texts. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, involving 30 seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Medan selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected through writing tests at the pretest and posttest stages, which were assessed using a scoring rubric. Data analysis was conducted by calculating the mean and standard deviation, as well as through normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using the t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an increase in the students’ mean score from 45.16 on the pretest to 80.16 on the posttest. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the calculated t value (10.726) was greater than the t table value (1.6972), so the alternative hypothesis was accepted. This study concludes that the implementation of the Think Talk Write learning model assisted by the Pinterest application has a significant effect on improving students’ ability to write descriptive texts. These findings imply the importance of utilizing innovative technology-based learning models to improve students’ writing skills, activeness, and creativity in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa sebelum pengunaan media Flipbook Digital Interaktif serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengunaan media Flipbook Digital Intearktif terhadap kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 11 Medan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain 0ne Group PretestPosttest Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 11 Medan, sedangkan sampel penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan satu kelas, yakni kelas XIc, yaitu kelas Pretest dan Posttest. Kelas Posttest diberi perlakuan menggunakan media Flipbook Digital Interaktif, sedangkan kelas Pretest menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional atau media yang tersedia disekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa pada kelas Posstest memperoleh nilai rata-rata 79,67 dengan skor tertinggi 95 dan skor terendah 60. Sementara itu, kelas Pretest memperoleh nilai rata-rata 48,83 dengan skor tertinggi 70 dan skor terendah 30. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05 dengan db = 58, maka T tabel = 2,001 Karena T hitung > T tabel atau 11,59 > 2,001, maka H₀ ditolak dan Hₐ diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dalam penggunaan media Flipbook Digital Interaktif terhadap kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 11 Medan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Personalized Learning terhadap kemampuan menulis teks prosedur siswa kelas X SMK Swasta Imelda Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif eksperimen dengan desain Posttest-Only Control Design dan sampel sebanyak 68 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional sebesar 70,02 dengan nilai tertinggi 80 dan terendah 57. Sementara itu, nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Personalized Learning sebesar 75,71 dengan nilai tertinggi 90 dan terendah 62. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa kedua kelas berdistribusi normal, dan uji homogenitas menunjukkan bahwa kedua varians bersifat homogen. Selanjutnya, hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh nilai t hitung sebesar 3,60 lebih besar dari t tabel sebesar 1,99 pada taraf signifikan 0,05, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran Personalized Learning terhadap ketepatan struktur dan kaidah kebahasaan dalam menulis teks prosedur siswa. Model pembelajaran ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menyusun struktur teks serta menggunakan kaidah kebahasaan secara lebih tepat.

Abstract

 This study aims to determine the effect of using Deep Learning-based Text-to- Speech technology on students’ understanding of sound and intonation in poetry reading among Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 7 Medan in the Academic Year 2025/2026. This research employed a quantitative method with a one-group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample consisted of Grade XI students of SMA Negeri 7 Medan who were given tests before and after the implementation of Deep Learning-based Text-to-Speech technology. The instrument used was a poetry reading performance test assessed based on indicators of sound and intonation comprehension. The data were analyzed using a t-test to determine the difference between the results before and after the treatment. The findings showed that the average score of students’ understanding of sound and intonation before using Deep Learning-based Text-to-Speech technology was categorized as fair, while after using the technology, the average score increased and was categorized as good. The t-test results indicated that the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was < 0.05, which means that there was a significant effect between the Pretest and Posttest results after the use of Deep Learning-based Text-to-Speech technology. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Deep Learning-based Text-to-Speech technology has a significant effect on improving students’ understanding of sound and intonation in poetry reading among Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 7 Medan.
