Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms of starch in edible plants. This research involved several edible plants such as sago, yam and taro. This type of research uses descriptive quantitative methods by conducting experiments on each sample used. The data collection technique was carried out by describing the results of the starch form from each sample that had been obtained. The results obtained from this study showed that the Sago preparations viewed under a microscope had an oval starch shape and spread throughout the preparation so that it was classified as an eccentric starch type that could be seen at 10X magnification, while Jicama starch preparations had a round starch shape and chains in some parts. The plane of the preparation and entered in the concentric type, but the shape of starch in Jicama can be seen under a microscope at 100X magnification, the Taro preparation has a round and lumpy shape but the starch accumulates in several areas of the preparation and enters the concentric type seen at 40X magnification. So it can be concluded that the forms of starch in edible plants are very diverse, both in round to oval shapes, with smooth and rough starch structures, namely in the form of lumps.Keywords: Edible Plants, Starch Form

Abstract

Stomata are openings in the epidermis that are lined by two special epidermal cells known as guard cells. In sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) leaves, stomata are found on both the upper (adaxial) and lower (abaxial) surfaces, making them amphistomatous. Stomata are classified into several types, including anomocytic, anisocytic, and parasitic. Studies on the structure of stomata in plants of the genus Saccharum are still limited. This study aims to provide scientific information about the types of stomata in Saccharum plants. This study was carried out from October to November 2023 at the biology laboratory. Qualitative descriptive method with the type of stomata considered under the microscope. Data collection techniques using observation. The results of this investigation show that the genus Saccharum has Graminae type stomata, guard cells shaped like a halter. Stomata size in sugarcane species is generally larger than in barnyard grass species.

Abstract

Ergastic objects are one of the non-protoplasmic components besides vacuoles. Ergastic objects in protoplasts can be solid and liquid.The purpose of the study was to determine how the structure and type of ergastic substances in plants of order poales. This research method includes descriptive research that describes the type and structure of ergastic substances in plants of order poales, the parts observed are bulbs, grains, stems to fruits that contain ergasticsubstances.Based on the results of research on the order of poales found that the order of poales has a diverse type of solid ergastics, such as amylum (starch) found in teapot grass plants (Cyperus rotundus), rice (Oryza sativa) and corn (Zea mays) with various shapes and types, there are also types of ergastic substances in the form of ca-oxalate crystals found in pineapple plants (Ananas comusus) and types of sugar-shaped egastic substances in sugar cane plants (Saccharum officinarum Linn).

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of adding tea dregs on the growth and the effective composition of tea dregs on the growth of brown oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus cystidiosus) on sawdust planting media. The type of research is quantitative with an experimental method using a Non-Factoral Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Data analysis in the study used parametric tests, namely the Anova test and LSD test as well as non-parametric tests, namely the Kruskal Wallis test and the Mann-Whitney test with SPSS. The results showed a significant effect on mycelium growth (Sig 0.014), number of fruit bodies (Sig 0.016), fruit stalk length (Sig 0.017), wet weight of harvest (Sig 0.000) and a significant effect on the age at which fruit bodies emerged (Sig 0.045) and had no significant on the diameter of the fruit cap (Sig 0.088) of brown oyster mushroom (Pleurotus cystidiosus). The best treatment for each observation parameter was mycelium growth in treatment P4 (19.3938 cm), age of emergence fruit bodies in treatment P0 (34.5 days), number of fruit bodies in treatment P4 (5.375), diameter of fruit cap in treatment P0 (12.3 cm), fruit stalk length in treatment P4 (10 cm), and wet harvest weight in treatment P4 (91 grams). The most effective treatment for the growth of brown oyster mushrooms ((Pleurotus cystidiosus)  is P4 treatment with 25% (375 grams of Tea Dregs + 75% (1,125 grams of Swadust).

Abstract

Indonesia is a mega biodiversity country with great biodiversity abundant as flora and fauna. One of the plants that contributes in the richness of flora in Indonesia, namely orchids. Orchids are a group of plants belonging to the Orchidaceae family. The purpose of this research is to find out the types of the Orchidaceaefamily and find out characteristics of the orchidaceae family. This research was conducted in May 2024 in the Tangkahan area, Namo Sialang village, Langkat Regency, North Sumatera. This research was conducted using an exploratory method (exploration) by directly observing the orchids at the research location. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling. Data analysis carried out by describing the spescies obtained based on morphology, identified, and made a key to the determinationpresented in form tables and figures. Based on the results of research on orchids types (Orchidaceae) which is found in the Tangkahan area, Langkat regency, North Sumatera as many as 13 species belonging to 10 genera, namely Acriopsis liliifolia, Archnis flos-aeris, Cattleya intermedia, Cymbidium finlaysonianum, Dendrobium aphyllum, Dendrobium cretaceum, Dendrobium crumenatum, Epidendrum rigidum, Phalaenopsis amabilis, Phalaenopsis equestris, Spathoglottis plicata, Trimezia martinicensis, and Vanda tricolor. Every speies of orchid found to have different characteristics ranging from stems, leaves, flowers, and their living habitat.

Abstract

Literasi numerasi merupakan salah satu kompetensi penting pada Abad-21. Literasi numerasi juga termasuk ke dalam literasi dasar yang penting untuk ditingkatkan bagi siswa Indonesia sesuai Permendikbud Nomor 23 Tahun 2015. Peran guru di sekolah sangatlah penting untuk meningkatkan literasi numerasi siswa. Namun hasil observasi awal ditemukan bahwa pemahaman guru-guru SD di KKG gugus IV Mutia Kota Langsa mengenai literasi numerasi masih rendah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dilakukan kegiatan PKM dengan cara mengoptimalisasi GLS melalui desain kelas literasi numerasi di sekolah dasar. PKM dilakukan dengan rincian kegiatan yaitu: sosialisasi, bimtek, pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada guru-guru mengenai desain kelas numerasi. Peserta kegiatan adalah guru-guru yang tergabung dalam KKG Gugus IV Cut Mutia Kota Langsa. Kegiatan PKM ini membantu guru-guru SD KKG gugus IV Cut Mutia Kota Langsa dengan memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman agar dapat membuat desain kelas numerasi yang menarik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman literasi numerasi guru dalam optimalisasi gerakan literasi sekolah melalui desain kelas literasi numerasi yang berdampak pada kreativitas dan inovatif guru dalam merancang desain kelas literasi numerasi.

Abstract

Kuala Langsa merupakan kawasan padat penduduk di perairan hutan mangrove. Cemaran mikroplastik di perairan menjadi permasalahan yang cukup serius bagi organisme perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberadaan jenis mikroplastik dan jenis bivalvia yang banyak mengandung mikroplastik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey dan pengambilan sampel menggunakan transek. Pengambilan sampel terbagi menjadi 2 lokasi yaitu dekat pemukiman warga dan kawasan hutan mangrove. Jenis bivalvia yang didapat yaitu kerang dara (Anadara granosa), kerang lokan (Geloina erosa) dan kerang kepah (polymesoda erosa). Pengamatan partikel mikroplastik dilakukan dengan menggunakan mikroskop stereo dilaboratorium FKIP Biologi Universitas Syahkuala. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga spesies bivalvia mengandung partikel mikroplastik yang bervariasi. Mikroplastik yang ditemukan berbentuk fragmen, Line dan film. Berdasarkan lokasi pengambilan sampel bahwa lokasi pertama yaitu dekat daerah pemukiman warga ditemukan mikroplastik sebanyak 16 partikel dari 2 spesies Bivalvia. Sedangkan lokasi kedua yaitu di daerah kawasan hutan mangrove ditemukan sebanyak 12 partikel dari 3 spesies Bivalvia. Berdasarkan perhitungan partikel mikroplastik setiap spesies bivalvia bahwa jenis kerang darah (Anadara granosa) paling banyak terakumulasi oleh mikroplastik.

Abstract

Desa Simpang Dua adalah salah satu Desa di Kabupaten Aceh Selatan yang masih memanfaatkan berbagai spesies dari famili Musaceae. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui spesies tumbuhan famili Musaceae, bagain yang dimanfaatkan dan untuk kegiatan apa saja famili Musaceae dimanfaatkan di Desa Simpang Dua Kabupaten Aceh Selatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survai, pengambilan sampel secara jelajah dan wawancaraPada hasil penelitian telah diperoleh 24 spesies Tumbuhan famili Musaceae yang ditemukan di Desa Simpang Dua. Pisang abu (Musa acuminata Colla) merupakan jenis paling banyak dimanfaatkan dalam kegiatan upcara adat tradisi. Berdasarkan data perhitungan, maka nilai UV tertinggi terdapat pada Pisang abu (Musa acuminata Colla) dengan nilai (UV=0,57) dalam kegiatan upacara adat tradisi, nilai RFC tertinggi terdapat pada pisang ameh (Musa acuminata) dengan nilai (RFC=0,91) sebagai bahan pangan, bagian tumbuhan famili Musaceae paling tinggi pemanfaatan adalah buah (42%), pemanfaatan famili Musaceae dalam berbagai pontensi kegaitan paling tinggi atau paling banyak dimanfaatkan adalah bahan pangan (46,3%).

Abstract

Paphiopedilum primulinum is one of endemic orchids in Gayo, Aceh, Indonesia. This terrestrial orchid is registered as endangered species due to IUCN. The low availability of this orchids in nature is due to habitat lost, over-collection for commercial purpose, and low seed germination rate which affected by unidentified factors, yet the study of propagating this orchid is rarely discussed. This experimental research is aim to see the effect of coconut water (CW) concentration to P. primulinum seed germination and development through in vitro culture. The sample of the study used the seed of P. primulinum which age 14 weeks after pollination. The research use ½ Murashige and Skoog media (MS) with four different coconut water (CW) concentration (0,10%, 20%, 30%) and incubated for 90 days. The seed germination rate is calculated due to the percentage of its total germinate seed and seed development indicator divided into 5 stages (0-5). The result shows that the seed of Paphiopedilum primulinum germinate best at 30% CW concentration and only in this concentration the seedling stage reach stage 5 (4.8%). This result implies that 30% CW concentration in ½ MS medium is the best medium to germinate this seed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran biologi berbasis proyek pada kurikulum merdeka terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis di SMA Muhammadiyah Langsa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah one group pretest-posttest design.  Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa/siswi kelas X1 (Eksperimen) dan X2 (Kontrol) SMA Muhammadiyah Langsa dengan jumlah 33 siswa. Hasil penelitian meinunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata preiteist keilas eikspeirimein seibeisar 41,5 dan keilas kontrol seibeisar 30,65. Seidangkan nilai rata-rata postteist keilas eikspeirimein seibeisar 74,80 dan keilas kontrol seibeisar 51,15. Data dianalisis meinggunakan uji t-teist Polleid Varian. Beirdasarkan uji hipoteisis nilai postteist seibeisar 5,21 deingan taraf signifikan α = 0,05 maka dipeiroleih ftabeil = 2,04 deingan keiteintuan fhitung > ftabeil , 5,21 > 2,04 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diteirima seihingga dapat disimpulkan teirdapat peingaruh dalam meinggunakan modeil peimbeilajaran beirbasis proyeik teirhadap keimampuan beirpikir kritis siswa di SMA Muhammadiyah Langsa. Dan rata-rata untuk peinilaian karya dari siswa seibeisar 73,43.
