Abstract

The development of the creative economy tourism sector is an initiative to improve the community's economy and accelerate tourism, including the city of Semarang. Pudak Payung Market, a traditional snack center has great potential as a creative tourist destination. This research aims to examine the development of creative tourism involving the community in Semarang City's traditional snack centers as a promotion for Semarang City in increasing tourist visits. This type of research is descriptive qualitative and uses a case study research method. This research has a community-based participatory approach that includes local activities in tourism development and promotion. Research result creative tourism development model to combine local wealth with educational and gastronomic tourism to increase tourist visits, strengthen local communities, and protect culture and the environment. So, the Pudak Payung Market Snack Center in Semarang City can be a successful example of creative tourism development in other areas.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of local community engagement and traditional values on the desire to visit Kandri Tourism Village in Semarang, emphasizing the importance of local wisdom and community involvement as key factors. Utilizing quantitative methods and a questionnaire-based survey to collect data from visitors, this research analyzes the influence through multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Findings indicate that both community participation and local wisdom have a positive and significant impact on visiting interest, affirming that improvements in these aspects enhance the desire to visit. The study suggests that the management of tourism villages should focus on active community involvement and the preservation of traditional values to attract more visitors. It offers practical recommendations for destination managers and local authorities to increase community engagement and promote local wisdom as strategies to boost visits to Kandri Tourism Village, showing that synergy between community involvement and traditional values is essential for the successful development and marketing of community-based tourism destinations.

Abstract

Creative activities are related to the food and beverage business which is popular with the public and adds value to the creative products of culinary industry players. The aim of the research is to analyze and develop the creative economy of the culinary tourism sector in Kranggan Village, Semarang City. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with survey and interview methods. The promotional model developed integrates the following elements: Promoting local culinary delights, collaborating with culinary industry players, and using a word of mouth promotion model. The research results show that this promotional model has succeeded in increasing visits to local culinary destinations in encouraging culinary business growth. The promotion model has become a tradition and cultural identity for the culinary industry around Kranggan Village, Semarang City. So that the Lumpia Skin Center is known to the public and culinary businesses in Semarang City. This has an impact on the economy of the surrounding community, as well as the creation of jobs in the creative economy sector.

Abstract

The WO (Weaknesses-Opportunities) strategy focuses on overcoming weaknesses such as limited supporting facilities and lack of promotion by taking advantage of external opportunities such as high interest in religious tourism and promotion through print and digital media. This involves increasing promotion and marketing and developing attractive religious tourism programs. The WT (Weaknesses-Threats) strategy focuses on overcoming internal weaknesses, such as limited supporting facilities and competition from other tourist destinations, by facing external threats, such as cultural values ​​and economic uncertainty changes. This involves investment in developing tourism infrastructure and improving the quality of services at Nyai Brintik Tomb. By implementing these strategies, it is hoped that the potential for religious tourism at the Nyai Brintik Tomb can be optimized effectively, increasing the number of tourist visits, increasing tourism income, and strengthening local cultural identity. Apart from that, the development of religious tourism at the Nyai Brintik Tomb can also contribute to the sustainable development of the Mount Brintik area as a whole by paying attention to aspects of environmental preservation, local economic development and community empowerment. Thus, the Nyai Brintik Tomb has the potential to become one of the leading religious tourism destinations in the city of Semarang, attracting visitors from various groups and providing a memorable and meaningful tourist experience.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the creative economy based on genjer crackers industry in Asinan Bawen Village, Semarang Regency, which has great potential to support local creative tourism. The traditional culinary industry enhances tourism appeal and increases community income. This research examines the dynamics of gender relations in the production, distribution, and promotion of genjer crackers as part of the creative tourism experience. This was conducted using an interpretive qualitative approach. Participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis were the methods used to obtain data. The results showed that women are responsible for the production and packaging processes, while men are responsible for product promotion and distribution. Economic and social aspects benefit women's participation, but are still limited by patriarchal social norms, limited access to capital, and lack of training.

Abstract

The foundation of creative tourism is local knowledge that can both increase tourist attractions and conserve local culture. There is a lot of local cultural potential in Asinan Village, Semarang Regency, but it is insufficient to create innovative, participatory, and informative tourism goods. The purpose of this study is to investigate how local knowledge may be transformed into innovative tourism practices that offer experiences centered around cultural education. Using a case study methodology and descriptive qualitative methods, this study was carried out through document analysis, interviews, and observation. Finding adaptable aspects of local culture, innovative approaches to producing tourism goods, and the ways in which local communities are involved in the process were the main goals of the study. Abstract

The mangrove forest ecosystem is an important habitat for forest conservation, so one area that has the potential for developing mangrove ecotourism in the city of Semarang is the tourist village of Tapak Tugurejo, Tugu district. Mangrove forest is a mangrove forest in brackish swamp land, usually influenced by tides, generally found on the coast / bay forest that is protected from big waves with biodiversity. Therefore, the importance of direct activities to raise awareness to the community about the importance of planting mangroves can prevent abrasion, especially in the tourist village of Tapak Tugurejo. This activity is carried out by the TVO (Tourism Volunteer Organization) organization. In general, the activities were followed enthusiastically by other participants. The research method uses qualitative methods, and the type of case study research. The results of this service are expected to understand and take great benefits for youth and the community to care for the environment, as well as useful for preventing abrasion in the tourist village of Tapak Tugurejo

Abstract

AbstractThe digital transformation in tourism has significantly influenced promotional strategies, particularly among millennial travelers. This study analyze the effectiveness of social media as a promotional tool in attracting millennial visitors to Grand Maerakaca, Semarang. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 tourism managers and visitors, social media content analysis, and field observations. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Instagram plays a crucial role in promoting Grand Maerakaca, as millennials prefer visual content and interactive features. Furthermore, social media-based promotions significantly increase visitor interest by providing real-time engagement and digital word-of-mouth marketing. This study concludes that optimizing digital marketing strategies through social media platforms enhances destination branding and visitor attraction. Penelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas media sosial sebagai alat promosi dalam menarik pengunjung milenial ke Grand Maerakaca, Semarang. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 15 pengelola wisata dan wisatawan, analisis konten media sosial, serta observasi lapangan. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman, yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Instagram memiliki peran utama dalam promosi Grand Maerakaca, karena generasi milenial lebih menyukai konten visual dan fitur interaktif. Selain itu, promosi berbasis media sosial secara signifikan meningkatkan minat kunjungan melalui keterlibatan real-time dan pemasaran dari mulut ke mulut secara digital. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa optimalisasi strategi pemasaran digital melalui platform media sosial dapat memperkuat citra destinasi dan meningkatkan daya tarik wisatawan. Abstract

In order to improve Asinan Village, Semarang Regency's tourism appeal, this study examines the critical role that community involvement plays in the administration of sustainable tourism services. Research on the dynamics and results of participatory processes in the context of rural tourism destinations is lacking, despite the growing acceptance of community-based approaches in tourism development. This study examined the strategic development and administration of sustainable tourism amenities in Asinan Village using participatory analytical techniques and a qualitative case study research design. Semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and participant observation were used in the data collection process to capture the various viewpoints and experiences of local government representatives, tourism stakeholders, and community members. By means of interpretive synthesis and theme analysis, this study reveals the intricate connections between community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of promotional strategies, brand image, and service quality on guests' decision to stay at Hotel Grasia Semarang. The intense competition in the hospitality industry requires hotels to implement effective marketing strategies to attract guests. Factors such as attractive promotions, a strong brand image, and good service quality are key considerations in guests' decision-making process. This research uses a quantitative approach with surveys as the data collection method, where 100 respondents, who are guests of Hotel Grasia Semarang, were selected using purposive sampling. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to examine the relationship between the independent variables (promotion, brand image, service quality) and the dependent variable (decision to stay). The results of the study indicate that these three factors have a significant effect on guests' decision to stay at the hotel. The implication of these findings is the importance for hotel management to strengthen the brand image, offer appropriate promotions, and improve service quality to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty. This study contributes to the development of marketing strategies in the hospitality industry, particularly at Hotel Grasia Semarang.
