Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of teachers, identify the obstacles faced, and dissect the impact of the teacher's contribution in strengthening character based on Tri Kaya Parisudha teachings in Child-Friendly Schools at SD No. 3 Sempidi. Character issues such as bullying in elementary schools underlie the urgency of integrating Hindu moral values that align pure thoughts (Manacika), words (Wacika), and deeds (Kayika). This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data were gathered through observations and in-depth interviews with the principal, Hindu religion teacher, special assistant teacher, and students, while secondary data were obtained via documentation study. The collected data were analyzed interactively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that teachers contribute significantly as moral role models through integrated positive discipline practices. The obstacles faced include internal factors such as diverse hereditary traits, emotional instability, and varied learning interests, alongside external factors stemming from influences in the family, school, and community environments. This contribution yields positive transformative impacts on enhancing students' religiosity, inclusive tolerance among religious groups, and improving students' social etiquette and politeness in daily life. This study confirms the effectiveness of synergizing local religious wisdom with child-friendly school programs to realize a safe learning space free from violence.

Abstract

Panca Yama Brata is one of the ethical teachings in Hinduism that can serve as a guideline for shaping leadership qualities, especially for students. This teaching consists of five main principles: Ahimsa, Brahmacari, Satya, Asteya, and Awyawaharika, each of which holds significance in developing leadership character. Ahimsa instills the value of non-violence avoiding harm physically, emotionally, or verbally thereby fostering leaders with empathy. Brahmacari emphasizes the importance of a passion for learning and seeking knowledge as a foundation for effective leadership. Satya teaches students to uphold honesty, justice, and truth, which are essential for building trust. Asteya encourages students to refrain from stealing or taking others' rights, instead promoting integrity and respect for others. Awyawaharika stresses the importance of prioritizing truth and dharma values in every action. The implementation of Panca Yama Brata not only helps students develop exemplary leadership qualities but also creates a positive impact on their environment and society. Therefore, this teaching is highly relevant in cultivating future leaders who are characterized by integrity, fairness, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Abstract

Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in elementary schools plays an important role in building students’ understanding of scientific concepts. However, in practice, IPAS learning tends to be teacher-centered and does not sufficiently involve students actively, which results in low learning outcomes, especially on the topic of plant body parts. This study aims to determine the effect of the Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) model assisted by interactive learning media on IPAS learning outcomes in the topic of plant body parts among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Bebalang Bangli. This research used a quantitative approach with an experimental method and a Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The subjects of the study were 25 fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques used learning achievement tests in the form of pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Paired Sample t-Test, and N-Gain Score test. The results showed that the average pretest score of 68,84 increased to 82,24 in the posttest, with an increase of 13,40 points. Learning mastery also increased from 8 students (32%) in the pretest to 25 students (100%) in the posttest. The Paired Sample t-Test results showed a significance value of < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect. In addition, the N-Gain Score result of 0.4155 was in the medium category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Inquiry Based Learning model assisted by interactive learning media has a significant effect on IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Bebalang Bangli.
