The prevalence of hypertension in developed countries is quite high by 37% while in developing countries by 29.9%. Purpose: To know the hypertension patients’ profile at Puskesmas Waru, Pamekasan on January to December 2018. Method: This research method used an observational descriptive-qualitative study with a case study research design. The sample was taken with total sampling method from 220 people. Results: Among 220 people, who was diagnosed by hypertension was mostly at 45-65 years old by 57.3% and female by 62.3%. For educational factors they mostly had junior high school education by 34.5%. The most of hypertension diagnosed type is primary hypertension by 42% and Stage 2 hypertension by 55.4% then also followed by family comorbidity by 60%. Conclusion: The aging process in women creates the hormonal factors that trigger the occurrence of hypertension. This is because at the age of 45, blood vessels will start to narrow and become stiff. The lack of education causes the receiving process of information become not maximum so that it will impact on health status and one of the causes is due to the stress that is experienced by many housewives. Stress causes the headaches. Therefore, mostly hypertension patients have the headache. Most hypertension cases occur without any definite cause and with Stage 2 and the presence of family comorbidity due to genetic factors that influence it.

Abstract

Maintaining menstrual hygiene is essential to avoid vulvar pruritus, irritation, swelling, vaginal secretions, reproductive tract infections, urinary tract infections, uterine cancer, etc. Sampang is the region with the highest maternal mortality rate in Madura, but recently, maternal mortality rate in Sampang continues to decline. One of the causes of maternal death is due to the lack of reproductive hygiene maintenance during menstruation, so that mothers are at risk of uterine cancer. The present study aimed to analyze the relationship between risk perception and female students’ desire in SDN Kamoning in maintaining menstrual hygiene. It was an observational analytic research using cross sectional research design. This study employed HAPA theory. Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) is a concept approach to change one's behavior by strengthening intention to become action. The variable of risk in HAPA theory can influence individual perception early in the motivation phase. The samples of the study were 32 people, and they were taken by total sampling because the number of samples was very small. Data were collected through questionnaire, and they were analyzed by using spearman correlation. The results showed that there was correlation between perception of risk (p = 0,000) and intention to maintain menstrual hygiene. Relationships obtained were not strong because some respondents did not agree with the statements in the questionnaire. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between risk perception and intention to maintain personal hygiene during menstruation. Although the relationship obtained showed a strong relationship, there were some female students that still had wrong perception about personal hygiene maintenance during menstruation.

This research was quantitative with the cross-sectional design while the data analysis used was a Chi-Square test with a p-value of <0.05 that was based on the significance level. The research finding showed that the intention of student participation was quite high, i.e. 83.1%; from the statistical test, it had been taught that gender had a significant relationship with intention by a p-value of 0.00. Additionally, it had also a relationship with subjective norm by a p-value of 0.00.  Conclusion: the student’s norm has supported their intention to participate in the program. Meanwhile, the research finding that is based on the gender in this research showed that females had a higher intention to participate in the activity than the males had.  Therefore, a conducive environment should be maintained continuously so that the positive norm can motivate the students to participate in the activity held by the peer-educator.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the main public health problems in Indonesia. This disease is caused by the dengue virus and is transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. DHF has spread widely throughout Indonesia, one of which is Mojokerto and its surroundings. From 2014 to 2021, the incidence rate (IR) of dengue fever in Mojokerto has increased and decreased. However, dengue cases always appear, especially in endemic areas such as Mojokerto. This study aims to analyze the relationship between waste management practices and the incidence of dengue fever in Mojokerto Regency. This research is an analytic observational study with a case control approach. The sample of the case group in this study were DHF patients at the Puri Public Health Center, Semarang Regency and the control group were healthy people or neighbors of DHF patients who lived in Mojokerto. The research sample was 27 cases and 27 controls with consecutive sampling technique. The data were processed by chi-square test. From the statistical test, it is known that there is a relationship between waste management practices (p = 0.003) and the incidence of DHF in Semarang Regency.
