Abstract

Mosque-based sharia cooperatives are Islamic microfinance institutions with two unseparated financial and social missions. They have unique characteristics not found in other cooperatives and financial institutions and could become the ideal institutions for the community, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic. However, to date, researchers have neglected this phenomenon. Therefore, this study explores the contribution of mosque-based sharia cooperatives during the COVID-19 pandemic to the community’s well-being. The researchers employed participant observation and semi-structured interviews to collect the study data and then interpreted them using an inductive approach. This study showed that mosque-based sharia cooperatives had several critical contributions to community well-being during the pandemic, including cheap financing with the qardhul hasan contract, refinancing and rescheduling loan, delivering basic food packages through zakat funds and cross-subsidies, carrying out social services, and health education. The findings confirm previous research indicating that mosque-based sharia cooperatives significantly improved community livelihood. Furthermore, this study contributes to the expanded understanding that sharia cooperatives integrated with mosques augment their contributions to community well-being in the pandemic.

Abstract

Islam provides fundamental sources for human development, including ukhuwah Islamiyah, ashabiah and rahmatan lil 'alamin. These concepts are strategic in developing the economy of the state.  The current article aims to analyze the economic development in Medina carried out by the Prophet Muhammad. The authors employed a qualitative method through narrative reviews of the extant literature. The study shows that before the hijrah of the Prophet, Medina was already a multicultural and heterogeneous society with many prolonged conflicts.. The Prophet devised a strategic approach to build the Medina economy and society. Ukhuwah Islamiyah was used to unify differing, often conflicting cultures, beliefs, and ethnicities to form a strong brotherhood. Ashabiah was applied to tighten the glue among society members, creating high social solidarity. Upon the perfection of Medina, the apostolate of rahmatan lil 'alamin leads to a universal, inclusive, and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh program-program pembangunan karakter di MTs Alif Laam Miim Surabaya yang tidak terlepas dari peran aktif dan kontribusi kepemimpinan kepala madrasah berjenis kelamin perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab fokus penelitian mengenai kepemimpinan kepala madrasah perempuan dalam membangun karakter siswa di MTs Alif Laam Miim Surabaya. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala madrasah, waka kesiswaan, guru, wali murid dan siswa. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui dokumentasi dan wawancara. Peneliti melakukan analisis data menggunakan 3 langkah yaitu data reduction (reduksi data, data display (penyajian data) dan verification (penarikan kesimpulan). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menyatakan bahwa bentuk kepemimpinan transformasional kepala madrasah perempuan cocok diterapkan sebagai suatu bentuk pendekatan kepemimpinan dalam mewujudkan pembangunan karakter yang baik di MTs Alif Laam Miim Surabaya.

Abstract

Kajian komparatif konteks lembaga pendidikan Islam harus terus dilakukan demi perbaikan dan pembaharuan sistem lembaga pendidikan Islam yang ada pada suatu negara. Perlu dipahami bahwa setiap negara di dunia memiliki kearifan lokalnya masing-masing sebagai ciri khasnya. Baik dasar negara, sistem sosial, budaya, sistem hukum maupun sistem pendidikan yang diimplementasikan di dalamnya. Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah untuk menelaah kurikulum pendidikan Islam yang ada di dua negara rumpun Melayu, membandingkan dan menganalisis baik persamaan maupun perbedaan sistem kurikulum institusi lembaga pendidikan Islam di Madrasah al-Juneid al-Islamiyah Victoria Lane Singapura dan Sekolah Puyud Pracharak Patani Thailand, untuk selanjutnya ditarik formula positif sebagai tambahan wawasan kajian kislaman khususnya pada bidang pendidikan Islam. Metode penelitian pada kajian ini, menggunakan studi pustaka (library research). Yang mana menelusuri literatur kepustakaan terkait komparasi lembaga pendidikan Islam. Hasil dari kajian ini, didapatkan persamaan konten kajian yang diinternalisasikan pada institusi pendidikan Islam di Singapura dan di Thailand, baik pada aspek kurikulum, aktivitas akademik pendidikan dan tantangan lembaga pendidikan Islam yang mana berusaha untuk membentengi peserta didik dari nilai-nilai modernisasi yang negatif dan pola kebijakan yang diterapkan pemerintah berupa dualisme sistem pendidikan yang agaknya menjadi problem tersendiri bagi kemajuan lembaga pendidikan baik di Singapura dan Thailand.

Abstract

Leadership must ensure all employees have equal tasks and responsibilities. This study aimed to explore (1) the workload of employees in the MoRA office and (2) the strategies leaders take to overcome employee work overload. This study employed three methods of data collection: observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants include the Head Section and the staff working at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office of Gresik Regency. Data were analyzed using the stages offered by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the division’s staff workload was relatively heavy. The Head Section applied a leadership strategy to overcome work overload by offering work cooperation and mutual assistance among employees. In addition, leadership strategy was applied using an analysis of organizational structures, appropriate leadership styles, and the evaluation process. This study implies that reducing work overload is critical to maintaining employees’ ongoing health and strengthening work efficiency and effectiveness.

Abstract

Sistem Kredit Semester (SKS) merupakan adopsi dari pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada satuan pendidikan tinggi, sistem pembelajaran SKS jauh lebih dinilai fleksibel dan kompeten dalam mencetak lulusan yang berkualitas dibandingkan dengan sistem paket yang biasa kita kenal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana implementasi kurikulum berbasasis sistem SKS pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran sebagai peningkatan mutu madrasah di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Kota Surabaya. Subjek penelitian yakni Wakil Kepala kurikulum, staff kurikukulum, tim penelitian dan pengembangan madrasah dan tim penjaminan mutu madrasah MAN Kota Surabaya Metode penelitian. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data snowball sampling dan triangulasi data; in-depth interview, observasi, dan dokumentasi dan dilakukan analisis sesuai teori Miles dan Huberman; data collection, data condensation, data diplay, dan conclusion/verification. Hasil penelitian membuktikan (1) pelaksanaan kurikulum pembelajaran berbasis SKS berjalan dengan efektif dan efisien di MAN Kota Surabaya, (2) implementasi kurikulum berbasis SKS meningkatan mutu madrasah MAN Kota Surabaya sebagai madrasah unggulan.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the structure of human personality according to Freud's psychoanalysis and how the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy regarding this concept. Descriptive-deductive approach based on the literature review was used to get all data. The results show that Freud's theory of personality underwent two stages of theoretical development; 1) the levels of human personality that were formulated before the 1920 (consciousness, pre-consciousness, unconsciousness) and 2) the structure of human personality which was formulated in 1923 (Id, Ego, Superego) to refine the previous theory. Freud's thought in line with the Islamic educational theory where human life in early childhood and its growing environment are important factors in personality formation. In Islamic education, the formation of the personality of students is centered on the internalization of good morals through purification of the soul (tazkiyah al-nafs) to achieve a personality that is in harmony with the concept of a perfect human being (insan kamil).

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Canva-based audiovisual learning media application for the subject of Fiqh in the fifth grade of SDI Matsaratul Huda Panempan Pamekasan. The method used in this research is a development research approach consisting of initial analysis, material identification, product development, and testing stages. After the product is developed, experts evaluate its suitability by assessing the media design, content alignment, design completeness, and attractiveness. The expert assessment results show that the Canva-based audiovisual learning media design obtains a score of 83 percent, categorizing it as good. Limited student feedback also indicates a score of 77,13 percent, categorizing it as good. Based on the assessments from both experts and students, it can be concluded that this Canva-based audiovisual learning media is suitable for use in the experimental school. The field trial results indicate a score of 66,25 percent in the first cycle and 81 percent in the second cycle. The percentage increase in student learning outcomes shows that they have a better understanding of Fiqh subjects when using audiovisual learning media based on the Canva application which has good criteria. Therefore, this developed media can be used for both online and offline learning.

Abstract

This study focuses on integrating the Tringo Ki Hadjar Dewantara concept into the evaluation of Islamic education learning, aiming to enhance the educational function of assessing students' abilities in the learning process. The Tringo Ki Hadjar Dewantara concept is identified as a suitable framework for integration into the independent curriculum's learning evaluation. The research employs a literature study approach to elucidate these two aspects. The study uses content analysis and interpretation for data analysis, drawing from primary and secondary data sources. Using a deductive approach, the author collects and synthesizes relevant literature to contextualize the research discussion. The research addresses a crucial need due to the adaptable nature of the independent curriculum, requiring concept comparisons and adjustments, particularly in the realm of Islamic education. The study's novelty lies in integrating the Tringo Ki Hadjar Dewantara concept into the development of Islamic education learning evaluation. This uniqueness stems from the need for prior research on this concept's connection with learning evaluation. While existing studies have explored the Tringo concept's application in various educational contexts, they have yet to examine its integration into the assessment of Islamic education. Therefore, this study addresses an unexplored area within educational practice. By integrating the Tringo concept, educational practitioners can conduct comprehensive checks encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. These innovative evaluation approaches can be effectively implemented in Islamic education, leading to more impactful and engaging learning experiences.

Abstract

Developing entrepreneurial attitudes and spirit is crucial at an early age. This article aims to analyze the implementation of entrepreneurship programs in improving the student life skills of Islamic Elementary School Sari Bumi Sidoarjo. The data was collected from documents of entrepreneurship program activities and interviews with principals, deputy principals, and the entrepreneurship program manager. The analysis was done by condensing the collected data, presenting the data in a more understandable form, and finally generating a conclusion. Cross-data validation was done based on the data source and collection methods. The results showed that, first, the entrepreneurship programs implemented in this school included business day, product bazaar, business on the road, and entrepreneurial studies, and second, factors supporting the success of the entrepreneurial program are family support, student willingness, available infrastructure, budget, and human resources available in the school. The various entrepreneurship programs are the school’s effort to ensure that its graduates have good life skills in the future. The results of this study indicate the need for the provision of entrepreneurial programs at the elementary school level to ensure that all graduates have basic entrepreneurial knowledge and skills.
