Abstract

Reading the Qur'an correctly and accurately is an obligation for every Muslim. One important aspect of Qur'anic recitation is Tajwid, which ensures the precise pronunciation of letters and adherence to proper articulation rules. However, many students at the Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) level still struggle to apply Tajwid rules when reading the Qur'an. This study analyzes the effectiveness of instructional assistance in improving the Qur'anic reading skills of fourth-grade students at MDTA Al-Falah, Desa Neglasari, Kecamatan Darangdan. The research employs a qualitative approach using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which involves direct participation from researchers, teachers, and students in the learning process. The study follows four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection methods include participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, while data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model. The findings show a significant improvement in students' understanding and applying Tajwid rules. Before the intervention, only 40% of students had a basic knowledge of Tajwid, but this number increased to 85% after the assistance program. Students also demonstrated improved fluency in reading the Qur'an and greater confidence and enthusiasm for learning. This study highlights the crucial role of teachers and parents in supporting students' progress. It provides a model that other educational institutions can adapt to enhance the quality of Qur'anic education.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in the 21st century, critical thinking skills become a crucial competence that students must master. However, based on preliminary observations and previous research, it was found that many high school students lacked the ability to think critically in the learning process, especially in Islamic Education subjects. This research aims to find out how the problem solving method affects the critical thinking skills of students in PAI subjects in class XI of Purwakarta State High School 3. This research uses a quantitative approach with the one group pre-test post-test pre-experimental method. The research results showed that the average pre-test and post-test scores increased by 29.4%, the wilxocon hypothesis test also showed a significant influence from the application of problem solving methods in improving students' critical thinking skills. However, the results of the N-Gain calculation show that the effectiveness of the increase is in a low category. This indicates that although the problem solving method has a significant impact, the magnitude of the impact or effectiveness is still not optimal.

Abstract

This qualitative study explores the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to enhance critical thinking skills among junior high school students in Indonesia. Recognizing the limitations of traditional teaching methods that emphasize memorization, this research investigates how PBL, which centers on student-driven problem-solving, impacts students"™ analytical abilities, collaboration, and self-directed learning. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with three teachers and ten students, and analysis of student assignments and reflections over a 12-session period. Thematic analysis revealed that PBL effectively promotes critical thinking by encouraging students to question assumptions, evaluate multiple perspectives, and engage in meaningful dialogue with peers. Additionally, the study found that teachers shifted their roles from information providers to facilitators, which positively influenced student engagement and autonomy. However, challenges such as time constraints, curriculum alignment, and the need for teacher training were identified as barriers to optimal implementation. The findings suggest that with adequate support and adaptation, PBL can serve as a powerful pedagogical approach to develop critical thinking skills in junior high school settings. The study contributes to the growing body of research advocating for innovative instructional strategies in secondary education and offers practical recommendations for educators and policymakers aiming to foster higher-order thinking skills in adolescents.

Abstract

This study focuses on the social development of children raised in single-parent families in Pasawahan District, Purwakarta, West Java. The background of this research is driven by the increasing number of single-parent families in Indonesia, raising concerns about the potential impact on the social development of the involved children. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of single-parent parenting on children's social development, evaluate the relationship between such parenting and children's social well-being, and develop intervention programs aimed at enhancing the social welfare of children from single-parent families. The research methodology employed includes a literature review, quantitative surveys, in-depth interviews, and observational monitoring. The study also draws on various concepts and theories, such as the Parental Involvement Theory, Social Support Theory, and Resilience Theory, to understand how these factors influence children's social development within the context of single-parenting. The findings indicate that while single-parenting presents unique challenges to children's social development, targeted intervention programs can significantly improve their social outcomes. Further analysis underscores the importance of a comprehensive support system to promote the social well-being of children in single-parent families and the implications for policy formulation and program development. This research also aims to support more effective policies and strategies in enhancing the welfare of children from single-parent families in Indonesia.
