Abstract

CBR (California Bearing Ratio) value is usually used to determine the bearing capacity of a soil type. Soil conditions with low bearing capacity are often found in clay soil types. There are several ways to increase the CBR value of clay, one of which is by adding palm bunch ash. In this research, an analysis of changes in the CBR value of clay with addition of 5%, 7.5%, and 10% palm oil bunch ash. The results showed that the largest CBR value was obtained at the addition of 10% of palm oil bunch ash, which was 7.493%.

Abstract

One of the regencies in the province of Riau is Kampar. Pasar Kuok is one of the well-known markets in Kampar Regency, a Regency that continues to employ traditional markets as shopping destinations for the neighborhood. Traffic congestion is a common occurrence in Pasar Kuok, especially on market days like Tuesdays. Therefore, a research on parking management is required to ensure that the demand for parking spots can be met. In order to solve issues that exist in the Pasar Kuok area, this study intends to determine the availability of existing parking lots, identify the effects of parking activities, and and obtain scenarios as an alternative to solving problems. Data from the (a) Parking Patrol, (b) parking volume, and (c) parking inventory must all be collected. Based on the survey, there are two types of parking available at Pasar Kuok: on-street parking (using the road) and off-street parking (not using the road). After analyzing the data regarding the existing parking conditions as well as the problem solving recommendations, the results obtained from the analysis that have been carried out, given three scenarios for parking repairs, in order to be an alternative to solve existing problems. The first alternative is to change the width of the parking space unit capacity (SRP) for motorcycles. The second alternative is to change the location of the parking lot on the car street into a motorbike parking lot. The third alternative is to move the motorbike parking lot on Jalan Pulau Balai to the on-street motorcycle parking area located on Jalan Lintas Pekanbaru – West Sumatra A.

Abstract

Kemacetan lalu lintas disebabkan oleh ketidakseimbangan antara peningkatan kepemilikan kendaraan dan pertumbuhan prasarana jalan yang tersedia serta kapasitas efektif ruas jalan yang ada lebih kecil dari kapasitas jalan yang direncanakan akibat adanya hambatan di tepi jalan. Faktanya daerah Jalan Sisingamangaraja ini cukup padat dengan pedagang kaki lima yang menggunakan pinggir ruas jalan, parkir kendaraan. Selain itu ditambah jumlah pejalan kaki yang berjalan atau menyebrang sepanjang segmen jalan, dan jumlah kendaraan bermotor yang masuk keluar ke/dari lahan samping jalan serta arus kendaraan yang bergerak lambat seperti sepeda, becak dll. Hal ini sangat mengganggu kendaraan yang lewat dan menimbulkan kemacetan di ruas jalan depan Pasar Plaza Bangkinang Kota. Pada ruas jalan Sisingamangaraja dengan hambatan samping yang sebesar 543,6 bobot kejadian tinggi (H). pada ruas Jalan Sisingamangaraja di kawasan Pasar Plaza Bangkinang.derajat kejenuhannya melebihi batas derajat kejenuhan ideal 0.80 dengan Tingkat layanan D.Untuk kemampuan ruas jalan Sisingamangaraja dapat meloloskan jumlah volume lalu lintas C = 1856.03 smp/jam. Kecepatan arus bebas = 33,50 km/jam. Kecepatan minimum kendaran saat terjadi kemacetan pada hari Minggu adalah 19.18 km/jam atau 11,92 Mph. digunakan alternatif nomor 8 (delapan), yaitu menghilangkan data parkir, kendaraan berhenti dan kendaraan keluar masuk. Sehingga didapat kapasitas ruas jalan C = 2028,68 smp/jam. Kecepatan arus bebas = 38,17 km/jam. Derajat kejenuhan = 0,74 sudah dibawah standar dari ketentuan MKJI 1997.

Abstract

Peat water contains low pH and acid caused corrosive on cementation structure as stabilized soil based alkali activated POFA. The soil samples mixed with different percentages of POFA (5%, 10%, and 15%) and alkali activator solution (sodium silica; Na2SiO3) and sodium hydroxide, NaOH) were immersed in peat water for various durations (0, 7, 14, and 28 days). The test results for the physical properties of the soil showed that the addition of POFA decreased the plasticity index and increased the optimum moisture content (OMC) while reducing the dry density (MDD) of the soil mixture. Furthermore, the unconfined compressive strength test indicated that the soil's strength increased at a 5% and 10% POFA content after 7 days of immersion, with strengths of 760 kPa and 1312 kPa, respectively. However, the strength significantly decreased by over 50% after 28 days of immersion, reached 365 kPa and 372 kPa for the respective POFA contents. A slight increase in soil strength was observed with the addition of 15% POFA content during the immersion period. Although the strength obtained after 28 days was almost the same for all mixtures at 356 kPa, higher levels of aluminosilicate synthesis as 15% POFA can enhance the bonding strength between soil particles, making the test specimen more resistant to acid attack.

Abstract

Petapahan – Suram KM ±59 - 60 is a causeway with the status of a Provincial Road which is the authority of the Riau Provincial Transportation Office in completing the infrastructure aspects of the Petapahan - Suram KM ±59 - 60 road section. With such conditions, traffic problems arise in the form of traffic accidents. Therefore, to overcome the traffic problem, an analysis is needed to overcome the problem. The analysis method used in this peelitian is by Macro Analysis and Micro Analysis. Macro Analysis was conducted to determine the characteristics of accidents in general how the tendency of traffic accidents on the Petapahan – Suram KM ±59 - 60 road section. Macro Analysis uses simple numerical analysis namely analysis of the time of the accident incident, analysis based on the month of the incident, analysis of accident victims, analysis of the type of accident. For micro analysis consists of several analyses consisting of analysis based on accident chronology data, analysis of factors causing accidents, analysis of instantaneous. speed / spot speed and analysis of stop visibility. After the analysis, it was concluded that the factors causing many accidents that occurred in Petapahan – Suram KM ±59 - 60 were human factors and environmental factors. The human factor is the main factor in accidents that occur. So this research is needed to overcome these problems such as addition, replacement and maintenance for road equipment facilities in accordance with technical requirements.

Abstract

Modern soil stabilization has included environmentally friendly materials in the mixture design. Adding an alkali activator provides an alternative to the innovation of the binder agent for soil stabilization. This study aims to know the effect of adding the alkali activator soluble for soil-POFA mixture on changes in the soil strength characteristic through an unconfined compression test (UCT). The alkali activators are sodium silica (Na2SiO3) and Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH). They prepare with a ratio Si/Al: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and NaOH concentrated at 10M. Compressive strength to the soil-POFA mixture obtained slightly increased strength, and the soil is clayey sand poorly graded. However, adding the alkali activator increases the soil strength significantly. Thus, the soil-POFA with the alkali activators gained the maximum compressive strength on a ratio of 2.5, and it all has the characteristic of rapid hardening in the initial period as a binder agent.

Abstract

SMK Abdurrab Pekanbaru telah dipilih sebagai pilot project berbasis Internet of Things (IoT), mendapatkan kepercayaan dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan. Namun, tantangan muncul karena para guru belum memiliki pemahaman dan keterampilan terkait penerapan IoT, khususnya dalam konteks penghematan energi untuk menciptakan sekolah yang ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada para guru di SMK Abdurrab mengenai konsep dan implementasi IoT untuk penghematan energi dan keberlanjutan lingkungan. Dengan demikian, diharapkan dapat menjawab kepercayaan yang diberikan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan terhadap pilot project SMK berbasis Revolusi Industri 4.0. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan survei awal dan wawancara di SMK Abdurrab Pekanbaru untuk mengevaluasi kebutuhan dan pemahaman awal. Selanjutnya, dilaksanakan pelatihan intensif IoT bagi para guru sebagai langkah nyata implementasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terselenggaranya pelatihan IoT yang sukses, meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru terkait penghematan energi dan keberlanjutan lingkungan di lingkungan sekolah. Dampak yang dirasakan oleh mitra, yaitu SMK Abdurrab, adalah penguatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka dalam mengimplementasikan teknologi IoT untuk penghematan energi, menjadikan sekolah sebagai lembaga yang berkontribusi pada lingkungan yang lebih berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Kesuksesan seseorang tidak ditentukan semata-mata oleh pengetahuan dan kemampuan teknis (hard skill) saja, tetapi lebih oleh kemampuan mengelola diri dan komunikasi dengan orang lain (soft skill). Keterbatasan kemampuan dan keterampilan berkomunikasi pada anak-anak keturunan pemulung dan anak yatim piatu, khususnya di lingkungan RT.03 Kecamatan Tampan Kota Pekanbaru tentunya berpotensi menghambat masa depan mereka. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengeluarkan anak-anak tersebut dari jerat kemiskinan melalui peningkatan keterampilan (softskill) berkomunikasi agar nantinya dapat berbicara di depan publik dan diharapkan nanti ketika dewasa dapat memperoleh penghasilan karena sedari dini mereka telah memiliki bekal keterampilan berkomunikasi. Dalam pengabdian ini menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi. Melalui materi presentasi yang disampaikan berupa penayangan video, anak-anak memperoleh pemahaman yang tepat dan mudah dimengerti. Selanjutnya sesi tanya jawab yang sifatnya untuk memperkaya wawasan mitra pengabdian. Hasil dari pengabdian yang telah dilaksanakan yaitu adanya respon positif dan proaktif dari mitra terhadap kegiatan ini. Hal ini terlihat dari animo sasaran untuk mengikuti kegiatan sangat tinggi, terbukti dengan kehadiran peserta untuk mengikuti kegiatan mencapai 100% dari total mitra pengabdian yang terdata.

Abstract

Menurut data UNESCO, minat baca masyarakat Indonesia sangat memprihatinkan, yaitu hanya mencapai 0,001%. Fenomena krisis literasi disebabkan masyarakat enggan untuk membaca, memahami, dan menganalisis informasi dengan kritis dan teliti. Ironisnya, meski minat membaca buku rendah tetapi bisa menatap layar gadget kurang lebih 9 jam sehari. Lewat gadget memang banyak informasi yang beredar. Sayangnya informasi yang diperoleh kerap kali bukan berasal dari media yang bisa dipercaya. Meningkatkan literasi di kalangan anak-anak dan remaja sangat penting karena literasi adalah keterampilan utama yang diperlukan untuk sukses dalam kehidupan yang semakin kompleks dan berubah dengan cepat. Sebagai bentuk rasa peduli terhadap kondisi saat ini, Tim pengabdi mengadakan kegiatan untuk dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dalam dua Bahasa (Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris) pada anak-anak panti asuhan As-Salaam Nur Hidayah Pekanbaru melalui bacaan tentang ketauladanan keislaman dan pembangunan di zaman Rasulullah. Setelah dilakukan sosialisasi dan pemberian materi oleh tim pengabdi, terjadi peningkatan terhadap kemampuan literasi anak-anak panti asuhan As-Salaam Nur Hidayah Pekanbaru yang dapat dilihat dari hasil post-test yang diberikan. Selain itu, partisipasi peserta kegiatan sosialisasi mencapai tingkat yang memuaskan yaitu sebesar 93%. Hal ini menunjukkan tingkat antusiasme yang tinggi dari pihak panti asuhan As-Salaam Nur Hidayah terhadap kegiatan pengabdian ini.

Abstract

Nowadays, the presence of plastic waste is increasing. This is because the use of plastic as a material for packaging food and drinks has not yet been replaced. This is why researchers are concerned about the accumulation of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic waste at the location of road construction projects which originates from workers' daily consumption of food and drinks. So it is felt necessary to use PET plastic waste as an additional or substitute material for asphalt mixtures that is environmentally friendly and economical, because PET plastic contains polymers that are plastomers. In this research, various levels of PET plastic waste were used: 0%, 4%, 4.5%, 5%, 5.5%, 6%. The research results concluded that the use of 4.5% PET plastic waste in the AC-BC mixture had marshall characteristic values ??that requirements. The optimum asphalt content value is 5.7% with Marshall properties including a stability value of 1,235.1 Kg, a flow value of 3.03 mm, 409.41 Kg/mm of Marshall Qoutient (MQ) value, 15, 62% of VMA, 72.19% of VFA, and 4.34% of VIM.
