Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the types of Vocabulary Learning Strategies (VLS), the most and least frequently used VLSs by female and male students, and the types of VLSs chosen to address vocabulary learning problems. This study employed a survey technique. The population for this study was drawn from Lampung State Islamic University's English Education Department, which consisted of three classes and had a total enrollment of approximately 75 students. Female students totaled 64, while male students totaled 11. The sample consisted of fourth-semester students. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire that Gu and Johnson proposed in 1996. Interviews were also used as a tool. All English department students at Lampung State Islamic University used one of four vocabulary learning strategies. Among the four categories of Vocabulary Learning Strategies, students in the three classes favoured metacognitive strategies the most, as indicated by the mean score (2.90). On the other hand, the least frequently used strategy was memory/repetition, as indicated by the lowest mean score (2.22). Female students tended to use metacognitive strategies, as indicated by their highest mean score (2.87), while male students tended to use memories/repetition strategies, as indicated by their average score (2.2). Additionally, the most frequently used strategy by male students was metacognitive strategy with a mean score of (2.93), while the least frequently used strategy was activation with a mean score of (2.93). (2.31). To overcome the problem of vocabulary acquisition, the students used the strategies of consulting a dictionary first, followed by learning grammar and asking other people second. The final strategies used were word practise and internet surfing.

Abstract

Sumber energi listrik diperlukan untuk operasional kios coffee, memastikan berbagai peralatan elektronik dapat berfungsi dengan baik ada pun sumber energi alternatif yang dapat diguanakan selain ramah lingkungan serta tidak menghasilkan gas CO2. Analisis teknis dan ekonomi pada system diperlukan untuk memastikan efisiensi energi yang diterapkan dan mengoptimalkan biaya performa sistem, serta memastikan keberlanjutan operasional kios coffee di berbagai lokasi. PLTS off-grid dapat menjadi solusi dan dapat diterapakan pada atap kios coffee yang tidak akan menggangu berbindah lokasi. Hasil perhitungan teknis menunjukkan etimasi beban sebesar 304,77kWh/tahun, panel surya yang digunakan 350 Wp, charge controller 14A 51 Volt , inverter 1000 Watt, dan tiga unit baterai 12V 100Ah disusun paralel, hasil simulasi PVSyst dengan sudut kemiringan 10° dan azimuth 0° menghasilkan total energi tahunan 522,26 kWh, dengan 206,39 kWh tidak dapat digunakan serta energi yang disuplai ke beban sebesar 304,77 kWh/tahun hal tersebut artinya beban terpenuhi 100% dengan performa rasio 49%. Investasi awal PLTS Rp. 10.775.000, biaya operasi tahunan Rp. 107.750, penggantian baterai Rp. 4.200.000 serta LCC Rp. 14.367.367 dengan CoE Rp. 6.531/kWh. Evaluasi menunjukkan NPV positif Rp. 3.138.724, Profitability Index 1,29, dan Discounted Payback Period 3 tahun 7 bulan, menandakan kelayakan investasi PLTS off-grid pada kios coffee.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai ketidak simbangan beban dan losses pada transformator di Universitas Pamulang. Ketidak Seimbangan beban dapat menyebabkan losses serta menurunkan efisiensi transformator, yang pada akhirnya berdampak pada sistem distribusi tenaga listrik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara pengambilan data dan kemudian data yang diperoleh akan diolah datanya. Hasil pengujian  menunjukkan bahwa didapatkan ketidak seimbangan beban lebih besar pada malam hari dan losses terbesar pada malam hari yang menunjukkan adanya beban yang tidak merata antar fasa pada transformator di Universitas Pamulang. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberi kontribusi signifikan terhadap upaya peningkatan efisiensi dan perawatan transformator khusunya di lingkungan Universitas Pamulang.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) oleh tim Magister Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris (MPBI) Universitas Terbuka bertujuan untuk mendorong antusiasme proses belajar mengajar di PAUD dengan edukasi inovatif. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 14 Mei 2024, dengan melibatkan dosen dan mahasiswa MPBI Universitas Terbuka sebagai pelaksana, serta PAUD Mutiara Bunda sebagai mitra. Metode kegiatan terdiri dari tiga tahap: penjajakan awal, persiapan, dan implementasi. Penjajakan awal dilakukan melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan wawancara dengan guru-guru PAUD, untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan utama mereka, yaitu kekurangan Alat Permainan Edukatif (APE) dan motivasi siswa yang rendah. Persiapan kegiatan mencakup koordinasi dengan mitra dan penyiapan materi edukasi serta alat bantu pembelajaran. Pada hari pelaksanaan, kegiatan dimulai dengan penampilan tari oleh siswa PAUD, diikuti dengan proses belajar mengajar menggunakan APE yang telah disediakan. Anak-anak diberikan motivasi melalui kegiatan interaktif dan pemberian hadiah. Guru-guru PAUD mendapatkan edukasi mengenai pemanfaatan APE dalam pembelajaran, yang diharapkan dapat membuat proses belajar mengajar lebih menarik dan efektif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan antusiasme dan motivasi anak-anak, serta peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam memanfaatkan APE. Kontribusi kegiatan ini meliputi penyediaan APE digital yang sangat dibutuhkan, serta peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di PAUD Mutiara Bunda. Program PkM ini memberikan dorongan signifikan bagi PAUD Mutiara Bunda untuk terus maju dan berkembang, serta menunjukkan pentingnya dukungan dari perguruan tinggi dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan anak usia dini.

Abstract

Jumlah realisasi dana BOS SMP Negeri di Kota Yogyakarta masih dibawah 100% pada tahun 2018, 2019, dan 2020, menggambarkan penyerapan anggaran kurang maksimal. Penyerapan anggaran kurang maksimal dapat menghambat terciptanya kesejahteraan masyarakat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji faktor-faktor penyerapan anggaran dana BOS SMP Negeri di Kota Yogyakarta. Pengujian hipotesis diuji menggunakan analisis regresi. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer yang didapatkan melalui kuesioner. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah Kepala, Wakil Kepala, Bendahara, Tim Pengadaan Barang dan Jasa yang bekerja pada SMP Negeri di Lingkungan DINDIKPORA Kota Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 16 SMP. Seluruh populasi yang ditentukan digunakan sebagai sampel. Pengolahan data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis regresi linier berganda dengan alat bantu olah data IBM SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan faktor perencanaan, pelaksanaan, kompetensi sumber daya manusia, pengadaan barang dan jasa, dan regulasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap penyerapan anggaran dana BOS SMP Negeri di Kota Yogyakarta. Pengambilan sampel SMP Negeri di Pemerintah Kota Yogyakarta sebagai lokasi penelitian dan penyerapan anggaran dana BOS sebagai variabel penelitian merupakan temuan yang belum pernah diteliti sebelumnya. Disamping itu penggunakan 5 variabel sekaligus yaitu faktor perencanaan, pelaksanaan, sumber daya manusia, pengadaan barang dan jasa, Regulasi dengan metode regresi linear berganda merupakan pengembangan dari penelitian terdahulu

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model on students’ communication skills, self-efficacy, and learning outcomes. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 57 students, divided into two classes: the experimental class, which was treated using the Think Pair Share model, and the control class, which was taught using conventional lecture methods. The instruments used in this study included a communication skills questionnaire, a self-efficacy questionnaire, a learning achievement test, and an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using t-tests and N-Gain to examine significant differences between the two groups.The results of the study show that: (1) The TPS learning model had an effect on students’ communication skills. The application of the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model improved students’ communication skills in grade IX, as indicated by the average score of the communication skills questionnaire per item, which was 3.69 and categorized as very good. Classroom observations also showed that students actively engaged in discussions, expressed opinions, and gave constructive feedback to their peers. (2) The TPS model had a significant effect on students’ self-efficacy. The t-test result showed t = 7.014 with p = 0.000 0.05, indicating that the difference in self-efficacy between the experimental and control classes was statistically significant. Observations supported this finding, showing that students became more confident in expressing opinions, actively participated, and were able to take initiative in completing tasks. (3) The TPS model also had a significant effect on learning outcomes. The experimental class obtained an average N-Gain score of 0.79 (high category), while the control class obtained 0.38 (moderate category). This indicates that students who were taught using TPS experienced better mastery of the material and collaborative skills compared to those taught using conventional methods.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate the institutional transformation of the Sandai Sub-district PGRI (Teachers' Association of the Republic of Indonesia) for the 2025–2030 term, focusing on strengthening its role as a professional teachers' organization in a rural region. The research is grounded in the necessity for teacher organizations to address structural educational challenges in 3T (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost) regions through a vision, mission, and work programs that are contextually relevant and grounded in local culture. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving PGRI administrators, teachers, principals, and education officials. The findings indicate that the institutional transformation of Sandai PGRI is characterized by the strengthening of an inclusive vision, reflective training, the development of learning communities, and advocacy for teacher welfare and professional ethics. These findings affirm PGRI's strategic position as a bridge between national policies and local needs. The implications suggest that the organization must develop a leadership succession (cadre) system, broaden cross-sectoral partnerships, and enhance training grounded in Dayak-Malay cultural values. In conclusion, the Sandai PGRI is positioned to become a model for a progressive, context-aware, and equitable professional teachers' organization, spearheading educational transformation at the local level.

Abstract

Penguasaan bahasa menjadi penting karena akses dunia digital sebagian besar menggunakan bahasa sebagai pengantarnya. Penelitian ini merupakan pengembangan media pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu ADDIE. Sedangkan jenis pengumpulan data yang dipakai yaitu jenis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari validasi ahli media, ahli pembelajaran, ahli bahasa, guru, hasil tes siswa. Sedangkan data kualitatif bersumber dari validasi tiga ahli tersebut, kuisoner siswa, guru, observer. Data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data tersebut selanjutnya direkap, dievaluasi kemudian digunakan sebagai acuan untuk melakukan revisi pada media pembelajaran circle of fun. Hasil analisis menunjukan media circle of fun layak di terapkan saat pembelajaran pada materi fruit and vegetables. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah seorang guru harus lebih kreatif dalam memanfaatkan media pada saat proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of blended learning by the teacher in teaching English to fourth grade students of primary school. This research was a descriptive case study applying a qualitative approach carried out for approximately one semester starting in August of the 2024/2025 school year at SD Swasta Buddhis Paramita Rengat. The informants of this study were English teachers, some fourth grade students, and parents of students. Secondary data came from the teaching module, teaching materials, students' work, teacher’s daily notes. Data collection was conducted by applying observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis was applied by adopting the concept of interactive analysis model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The result shows that the implementation of blended learning in English subjects by teachers for students has been carried out effectively in improving writing and speaking skills with basic vocabulary and grammar development through procedures before face-to-face meetings, during face-to-face meetings, and after face-to-face meetings with three units of daily life topics as material assisted by Google Classroom and Blooket as online platforms, as well as English Code American 4 book as learning resources, then assessed through quiz assessments, assignments and daily practice in class. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi blended learning oleh guru dalam pengajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus deskriptif yang mengaplikasikan pendekatan kualitatif yang dilaksanakan selama kurang lebih satu semester yang dimulai pada bulan Agustus tahun ajaran 2024/2025 di SD Swasta Buddhis Paramita Rengat. Informan penelitian ini adalah guru bahasa Inggris, beberapa siswa kelas IV, dan orang tua siswa. Data sekunder bersumber dari modul ajar, daftar absensi siswa, materi ajar, hasil pekerjaan siswa, catatan harian guru. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menerapkan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data diterapkan dengan mengadopsi konsep model analisis interaktif yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi blended learning dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris oleh guru untuk siswa telah dilakukan secara efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis dan berbicara dengan pengembangan kosakata dan tata bahasa dasar melalui prosedur sebelum pertemuan tatap muka, selama pertemuan tatap muka, dan setelah pertemuan tatap muka dengan tiga unit topik kehidupan sehari-hari sebagai materinya yang dibantu dengan Google Classroom dan Blooket sebagai platform onlinenya,  serta buku paket English Code American 4 sebagai sumber belajarnya, kemudian dinilai melalui penilaian kuis, tugas dan praktek harian di kelas.

Abstract

Building arguments for academic writing, such as constructing justification for a research proposal, is regarded a complex task. Moreover, it is believed that male and female authors use and produce the language differently, including perhaps providing thesis and arguments for research. Extensive research on rhetorical analysis of students’ theses has been widely conducted; however, little we know the way they state their claims from gender perspectives. To fill the void, this study aims to explore how Indonesian male and female authors construct and state their arguments in Introduction section for justifying their research from the perspectives of argumentation ability, underpinned by the concepts of transitivity system of SFL approach. Informed by qualitative descriptive research paradigm particularly text analysis, ten Introduction sections from selected English thesis proposals written by male and female authors at a university in Banten Province, Indonesia were subject to analyze. The finding of the research shows that either male students or female students expressed their arguments of their research topic and justification in almost similar fashion. The most frequent processes over the clauses were material process, relational process (attributive and identifying), and mental process (male: 59%, 20%, 11%; female: 49%, 20%, 14%). These findings underscore the common strategies employed by students, regardless of gender, in establishing their research objectives and setting the stage for their academic work. Such insights can be of significance for educators and researchers aiming to guide students in optimizing their academic writing skills, particularly in crafting compelling Introduction sections for thesis proposals.
