Abstract

Supporting the Company's business activities, CSR must be implemented not only as an implementation of responsibility but also as an obligation for the business world. CSR can be said to be future savings for companies to gain profits. The benefits obtained are not just financial benefits but more on the trust of the surrounding community and stakeholders based on the principles of volunteerism and partnership. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to enforce the law for Limited Liability Companies that do not implement Corporate Social Responsibility. This research uses a normative type of research. The results of this research are that Limited Liability Companies have an obligation to implement CSR. However, if a Limited Liability Company does not implement CSR, there are no legal sanctions related to Limited Liability Companies that do not implement CSR. If there are no regulations that enforce it, many companies will ignore CSR provisions and this will become an obstacle in the future in implementing CSR.

Abstract

Sustainable Water Resources Management in South Bali. The ancient Bali inscriptions inform that the Balinese people had developed water management based on their local wisdom since at least the 11th century. The agricultural irrigation system called Subak has existed even further since the 8th century. The water management system in Balinese society accentuates revering and honoring the water and its natural surroundings by applying the Tri Hita Karana concept in everyday life, which consists of Parhyangan, Pawongan, and Palemahan. Parhyangan is related to the belief in revering the water through ritual ceremonies. Pawongan is associated with the traditional village residents who managed water resources following agreed rules (awig-awig). Finally, Palemahan is related to spatial management by considering water conservation areas, vegetation areas, and occupancy areas with its water source’s sustainability. The study aims to identify the local knowledge in water management practices and determine the continuity status of its constancy. The data collection uses literature study, survey, descriptive analysis, and Multi-Dimensional Scaling analysis. The results represent that the sustainability status of water management has a relatively high score in the social-culture dimension. In contrast, it has a relatively low score in the economy and ecology dimensions. Therefore, it needs policy strategies to balance every extent of Bali’s water management so it can be optimized, especially in the South Bali area. Abstract

This study was aimed at mapping the rice field land conversion spatial pattern in the metropolitan region of Badung Regency, Bali Province, and analyzes the effectiveness of local government policy in controlling rice field land conversion. The mapping was done using the overlay technique aided Geographical Information System (GIS) in which the 2002 land use map and the 2009 land use map. The analysis of the effectiveness of the local government policy was done using regulating documents, observation of in the field, and analysing community evaluation (involving subak leader/pekaseh, farmer/subak member, and chairman traditional village/klian). The study shows that the spatial distribution of the rice field land conversion form cluster pattern. This pattern emerged because of the contagious nature of the rice field land conversion that influenced by development in the sorrounding environment. The implementation of the local government policy is not effective. This is supported by some weakness in the regulation system, an increase in rice field conversion facts and negative respon from the community of the local government policy implementation. In order to make the control of the rice field land conversion run effectively, the local government should reorient the development priorities to the agricultural sector by engaging the partisipant of the local community such as subak.
