Abstract

Abstract The Impact of Land Conversion Paddy Farmer Owners To Home Life (A Case Study in Subak Lange, in the Area South Pemecutan Village, West Denpasar District) The Land Conversion Paddy Farmer Owners To Home Life have an impact on the decline in agricultural production and will have an impact on changes in the orientation of economic, social, cultural, political, and community. Increasing land use for shelter, a place to do business, the fulfillment of public access and other amenities that will lead to the available land so that the land was converted narrowing. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of conversion land use on the lives of farmers. How the lives of the farmers after selling his farm land. This study using in-depth interview technique. This study using variables and indicators in the three states of culture, namely: mindset, social systems, and artifacts or objects. Subak Lange is in the Pemecutan Village, West Denpasar District. Subak Lange is a located in the area South Pemecutan Village. West Denpasar Ditstrict. This study was conducted by purposive, there are some reason for location selection. The result of the study showed that land conversion have an impact on a better life than before, and some result showed there is also a feeling of life is not better after seling their farm land. This can be measured   in three states, namely culture mindset, social systems, and artifacts or objects. The purpose of selling his farm land because farmers used to open a business, health cost, home renovation cost, religious ceremonies, and used to dissipate. The reasons to sell farm land due to high taxes and harvest is uncertain. The feeling after selling the farm land, some farmer are happy anda some farmer feels regret. The interaction of the public prominence and families, some are good and some are not good or there is also have a conflict. The farmer’s income after selling their farm land more better than be a farmer by profession before. It needs good preparation from the farmers to the use of proceeds from the sale of rice fields used for working capital that is useful to farmers a better life because of farm land are sold out.

Abstract

Strategy of Subak Development into an Agribusiness-Oriented Institution in Badung Regency (The Case of Subak Sengempel, Bongkasa Village,Abiansemal District) Agricultural development is done through an approach of agribusiness system which constitutes the whole subsystems of farming which are interrelated, interdependent and mutually influential. The aim of this study was to formulate strategies of Subak development into an agribusiness-oriented institution. This research was conducted in Subak Sengempel, Abiansemal District Badung regency. This study used 16 respondents (14 internal respondents and two external respondents) by means of purposive sampling. Data analysis method used was descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative method in order to obtain alternative strategies by using SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threat). The results showed that Sengempel Subak position was in cell one, Growth position. This growth position stated that Subak Sengempel was currently experiencing growth. Based on the SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threat) analysis, six alternative strategies can be recommended. The prioritized alternative strategy was the strategy of Subak development into an agribusiness-oriented institution. This Subak development into agribusiness-oriented institution was expected to become an independent and profit-oriented organization, able to survive and compete in the era of modernization. The recommended suggestion in this research is the development of Subak into an agribusiness-oriented institution is very possible with a real program. It can promote farmers’ independence, coordination with relevant parties, and create a pilot area of agribusiness that could be a motivation and foster the spirit of farmers in developing Subak into to an agribusiness-oriented institution.

Abstract

Income and Role of Subak Padanggalak Farmers in Tourism Objects of Kertalangu Cultural Village, Kesiman Kertalangu Village, East Denpasar District, Denpasar City The source of income of most farmers may come from several sources that is called as diversification of income. The role of farmers could be seen from the perspective of culture, namely culture as system of ideas or thought patterns, culture as system of activities, and culture as system of artifacts. The purpose of this study is to identify and understand the income and role of farmers in terms of culture in the development of Kertalangu Cultural Village Tourism Object. The study involves 54 farmers as respondents and was conducted in the second planting season between August and November 2018. The sample was determined using accidental sampling method. The research shows that the income of farmers in Subak Padanggalak with an average area of 0.26 ha of arable land is Rp. 4,695,377.78. Farming is efficient with an R/C ratio of 4.92, which means that for every Rp 100 costs incurred, Rp 4.92 income is received. The role of farmers is investigated from the aspect of culture that consist of three elements, namely mindset, social, and material. The aspect of mindset is reflected in decision-making processes related with the existence of new ideas or ideas regarding the development of attractions where farmers are also given the opportunity to provide advice or input. In relation to social aspects, the operation and maintenance of irrigation networks has become a routine activity agenda. In addition, farmers also become the object of tourism packages provided by the manager of the attractions. The role of farmers in material aspects can be seen from the maintenance of subak physical facilities, namely the maintenance of special plants that are planted for ceremonial service. In addition, farmers also organize and maintain empelan and other infrastructures which are used as sites to learn subak for students. Based on this research, Subak Padanggalak farmers should continue to improve agricultural skills in order to increase income and maintain the synergy of subak with tourism in order to harmonize the two sectors.

Abstract

Subak Problems in The Tourism Area of Subak Teges of Ubud Sub-District, Gianyar Regency The rapid development of tourism in the Ubud area raises problems for local people including the condition of agriculture in the area, one of which is happeningin Subak. Subak Teges is an agricultural irrigation organization located in Peliatan Village, which is influenced by tourism development. The development of tourism facilities caused problems to Subak Teges. The problem becomes a threat to the sustainability of subak. The problems arising from tourism are assessed based on three aspects including religious, social and environmental dimensions (Tri Hita Karana). The research location was in Subak Teges, Peliatan, Ubud. The purpose of this study is to describe the problem of subak in the tourism area of Subak Teges, Ubud Sub-District, Gianyar Regency. The analytical method used is qualitative descriptive analysis.The results showed that parahyangan or spiritual aspects did not experience problems. While the human aspect of pawongan and palemahan or spatial aspect have undergone problems due to the agricultural land conversion into tourism facilities. Suggestions that can be given related to the problems is that the stakeholders should enact any rules on the governance of agricultural land, it needs to cooperate with the indigenous Village of Pakraman in managing waste and the need for an intensive supervision of tourism waste.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Subak Role in Agricultural Activities Rice Rice Fields Subak as an organization that regulates the distribution of water in the rice is one of Bali's cultural heritage that has been recognized worldwide. Where existence is in dangered due to start behavioral changes manners subak.The purpose of this study was to determine the role of subak in rice farming activity seen from the five subak role. The approach taken in this study with descriptive qualitative method by conducting in-depth interviews about the problems facing subak seen from the five subak role in rice farming activities. The results showed the role of subak in rice farming activities begin reduced. If this is going to endanger the continued existence of subak. There fore, it needs to be more participation of farmers to assist in ferforming subak rice farming activities. Subak role in the distribution and operation of Dalem Subak irrigation water, there is a problem due to lack of attention to soil conditions that cause distriubusi Dalem Subak irrigation water is not adequate for the needs of area farmers' fields.Subak role in the operation and maintenance of irrigation networks, the results of in-depth interviews with key informants. Abstract

Socio-Economic Impact Partnership KUD Tani Makmur with PT. NestleIndonesia (Case Study in Kandang Tepus Village, Senduro Sub-District, Lumajang Regency)One form of relationship between subsystems in the agribusiness system is the relationship between dairy farmers, dairy cow cooperatives, and the Milk ProcessingIndustry (IPS). One of the dairy cow milk cooperatives in partnership with IPS is theKUD Tani Makmur in Kandang Tepus Village, Senduro District, Lumajang Regency.KUD Tani Makmur in running his dairy cow business in partnership with PT. NestleIndonesia.The partnership between KUD Tani Makmur and Nestle is contractual, inwhich this partnership impacts socially and economically for cooperatives. The purposeof this study was to determine the social and economic impacts of KUD Tani Makmurbecause they partnered with Nestle.The research method used for social impact isqualitative. Whereas for economic impacts quantitative analysis and trend analysis areused. The results of the analysis show that there is a change in knowledge, attitudes, andactions of cooperative employees and members. This change is positive. In addition,there are changes in positive social values and norms and institutions. The economicimpact obtained is also positive, the cooperative has increased income, the number of members of the cooperative, the development of physical cooperatives. The SHUobtained by cooperatives in the 2013-2016 period fluctuated, which in 2015 experienceda decline. This extension is due to the lack of proper implementation of cooperativestrategies in dealing with competitors. The positive impact of social and economicneeds to be maintained, while to overcome competitors need to know the weaknessesand strengths of competitors so as not to implement a strategy that is inappropriate.

Abstract

Role of Social Capital in Preserving Subak Bukti Batan Badung in GulinganVillage, Mengwi Sub-district, Badung Regency Subak Bukti Batan Badung is one of the subaks found in Bali. The area of Subak BuktiBatan Badung was previously 65,25 hectares and had undergone land conversion of7,25 hectares. Seeing the current development, it is highly likely that the existence ofSubak Bukti Batan Badung could be threatened. Thus, there is a need for the role ofsocial capital is preserving Subak Bukti Batan Badung. The data analysis method usedwas descriptivr qualitative.The results of this study showed that social capital owned bySubak Bukti Batan Badung to keep its sustainability was good which could be seen in:(1) the farmer’s belief in other farmers, the farmer’s belief in subak administrators,farmer’s belief in the government program and religious rituals, and the farmer’e beliefin the cooperatives, (2) the norms; awig-awig owned was not strong enough to suppressland conversion. Other norms were still strong and obeyed by all the subak member. (3)The social network owned could br said to be good, it could be seen from subak’srelationship with banjar/adat village, subak relationship with Public Work andAgricultural Departements.The suggestion that can be made from this research is toreinforce regulation accompanied bu sanction for related parties violating the awig-awigand awareness of subak members not to do land conversion.

Abstract

Implementation of the Six Functions of Subak in the Urban Areas (The Case of Subak Padanggalak in East Denpasar District, City of Denpasar)With the rapid development of time, the existence of Subak is increasingly threatened due to the transfer of wetland function in urban areas where there are developments outside the agricultural sector. This research was conducted at Padanggalak Subak, East Denpasar District, City of Denpasar. The aim of this study was to determine the implementation of the six functions of Subak seen from (1) the activities of religious ceremonies, (2) the search and distribution of irrigation water, (3) the operation and maintenance of irrigation networks, (4) resources mobilization, (5) the handling of conflicts, and (6) adoption of innovations. This research used descriptive qualitative data. The results showed that the implementation of the six functions of Subak in Padanggalak had been duly made. The implementation was conducted in the religious ceremony activities performed consistently, sharing and distribution of irrigation water which was conducted in a fair way, operation and maintenance of irrigation networks, and the mobilization of resources done by means of mutual cooperation and assistance from the government, conflict handling was done amicably, and the adoption of innovations had been applied in Subak Padanggalak. It is suggested the implementation of the six functions of Subak should be maintained and even optimized to achieve a more optimal goal.

Abstract

The Impact of Changes in Local Food Consumptionof Sweet Potato and Sago into Rice Food,in Kampung Makimi, Makimi District,Nabire Regency, Papua ProvinceThe impact of rice policy is a change in the pattern of local food consumption of thecommunity. This study aims to determine the impact of changes in the pattern ofconsumption of sweet potato and sago local food into rice food consumption. Thesampling method uses simple random sampling as many as 40 household headsfrom402 populations, theanalysis method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Theresults showedthe impact of changes in the pattern of consumption of local food ofsweet potatoes and sago into rice consumption was a massive shift in publicconsumption resulted in a decrease in the level of preference for local sweet potato andsago food consumption. Most households prefer to consume rice food, because it tastesgood and is easily accessible. This can be seen by the amount of rice consumption asmuch as 1,443.8 kg / year, while the amount of sweet potato consumption is 182.4 kg /year, and sago is 728 kg / year. The negative impact of government policies andprograms on rice food availability has resulted in reduced production of local sweetpotatoes and sago. So the price of sweet potatoes and sago became expensive. Changesin the pattern of consumption of local foods of sweet potatoes and sago into riceresulted in an increase of 18.75% in Diabetes Meliatus in Makimi Makimi Village.Suggestion that can be submitted as input is that necessary to process local food intovalue-added commodities that can attract households to consume local food. Thegovernment is expected to formulate regulations related to the food sovereigntyprogram, especially local sweet potatoes and sago. Government policies for theassistance of raskin should be reduced by quota, and replaced by a food subsidiesprogram based on local food. There needs to be a tithe regarding the diversification ofconsumption of nutritiousbalanced food, especially in utilizing local food potential.

Abstract

The application of Tri Hita Karana concept become an important issue to ensure the business word existence howadays. The business word will not be developed without concerning the condition and situasion of sosial business environment so that the implementation of Tri Hita Karana becoming a necessity to support the business activities for the companies. It is not just a responsibility but also aduty in the bussiness word. The implementation of Tri Hita Karana concept should become a part of business role an it belong to business policy, so that the business world is a not an organization that is oriented to ward achieving maximum profits but also becomes a learning organization, where the individues that involved have social awareness and process sense not only for the organization environment but also for the sosial environment where the business is located. The purpose of this study is to determine the continuity apotential business of organic liquid fertilizer based on the concept of Tri Hita Karana. The research was conducted to the company that is focused in aloe vera manufacturer. The research is located in Banjar Tengah, Saba village, Blahbatuh, Gianyar regency. The respondents are chosen by census method. That is all the managements and employees of PT Alove Bali. They are 21 people in total. The research is using inverse matrix analysis. Based on the result retrieved, the implementation of Tri Hita Karana in PT Alove Bali is belonging to the quite well category by achieving 38,68% score. The achieving score indicated the sustainability potential value of PT Alove Bali,that are : a). Gatra Parhyangan, PT Alove Bali didn’t have daily religious rituals possibility, b). Gatra Pawongan, PT Alove didn’t give awards for the potential employees, it took a less concern to the social activities in the village. It give a less routinity education for the employees, lack of the external human resource development activities, lack of implementation of routinity internal, meeting, lack of updating regular development information far the company. c). The lack of supplying production tools. The use of production process waste in this case, the lack of maintaining and preserving environment activities, the lack of innovation and technology in developing the products to be develop in the future. The implementation of Tri Hita Karana in PT Alove Bali could be more enharced through the sosialitation of Tri Hita Karana to be more implemented in the business activities and looking fot the solution for the problems in implementing Tri Hita Karana.
