Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the RADEC learning model (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) integrated with a deep learning approach in map learning for fifth-grade elementary students and to analyze students’ conceptual understanding in terms of their learning motivation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The participants were 33 fifth-grade students of SD N Petompon 01. Data were collected through observation, conceptual understanding tests, learning motivation questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation. The results show that the implementation of the RADEC learning model integrated with deep learning was carried out systematically through the stages of read, answer, discuss, explain, and create and was able to create an active, contextual, and meaningful learning process. Students’ conceptual understanding differed across levels of learning motivation, where students with high motivation demonstrated better conceptual understanding than those with moderate and low motivation. In addition, the RADEC learning model integrated with deep learning provided positive learning motivation indicators, such as participation, interest, confidence, and persistence during learning. Therefore, the RADEC learning model integrated with deep learning can be used as an alternative instructional strategy to facilitate students’ conceptual understanding and learning motivation in map learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in improving the quality of human resources; therefore, teachers are required to manage the learning process effectively and creatively. One effort that can be carried out is through the use of instructional media in classroom activities. The appropriate use of instructional media can help teachers deliver learning materials more clearly and improve students’ interest and understanding. However, in practice, the use of instructional media in schools still faces several challenges, particularly related to limited facilities, teachers’ competencies, and supporting infrastructure. This study aims to analyze the implementation of instructional media use, the obstacles faced by teachers, and the potential for developing instructional media at MI Tahfidz Darul Mubin Prabumulih. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by source and method triangulation. The results show that the use of instructional media at MI Tahfidz Darul Mubin Prabumulih has been implemented in the learning process but has not been carried out optimally. This is due to limited learning facilities and infrastructure, limited teacher competence in utilizing technology-based media, and limited time and budget of the madrasah. Nevertheless, there are potentials that can be developed, such as teachers’ creativity in utilizing simple learning media, teachers’ ability in planning learning activities, and support from the madrasah in improving the quality of learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the Qur’an memorization (tahfidz) program as a means of fostering students’ religious character and increasing their love for the Qur’an from an early age. SDT Al-Muhibbiin Betung Banyuasin is one of the elementary schools that implements the Qur’an memorization program as a flagship program in learning activities. However, several obstacles are still found in its implementation, such as decreasing student motivation in memorizing, difficulties in memorizing certain verses, and limited variations in learning methods. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of the Qur’an memorization program at SDT Al-Muhibbiin Betung Banyuasin, including its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, tahfidz teachers, and students participating in the tahfidz program. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of the tahfidz program at SDT Al-Muhibbiin Betung has several strengths, including competent tahfidz teachers, clear memorization targets at each grade level, and support from the school. However, there are also obstacles such as unstable student motivation, limited learning time, and the influence of external factors. Nevertheless, the tahfidz program still has opportunities to be further developed through improved learning strategies, strengthened program management, and support from all parties in the school.
