Abstract

Abstracts offer a concise summary of a study, helping readers determine whether to read the full article, as they serve as the initial point of access to knowledge and are among the first freely available "mini-texts" online (Huckin, 2001). This study aimed to compare the rhetorical structures and their occurrence in abstracts from IT journals and Language, Literature, and Education (LLE) journals, as well as to assess how well writers adhere to abstract writing guidelines. The study analyzed 60 abstracts—30 from each journal type—using Hyland’s (2000) model. The analysis revealed 19 different move structures, with six abstracts following the same patterns and 13 displaying varied structures. The most common move structures were M1-M2-M3-M4-M5 and M1-M2-M3-M4. There were instances of merging and repetition in moves 2 and 3, and the average awareness of using all move structures was higher in LLE (93%) compared to IT abstracts (87%). Hyland's (2000) five-move model provides a framework for maintaining consistency in abstract organization by emphasizing the significance and order of each move. The study found that certain structures included repetitive or cyclical moves, indicating the importance of offering clear textual guidance on the correct sequence.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration of local wisdom into digital character education frameworks for primary school students. Grounded in the increasing urgency to harmonize global digital pedagogy with indigenous values, the research employs a library research method through a systematic literature review of 28 peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last five years. The analysis identifies effective practices, challenges, and opportunities in blending cultural heritage with digital instruction. Findings reveal that localized moral education—delivered via digital storytelling, culturally relevant gamification, and teacher-facilitated interactive media—fosters deeper value internalization and enhances student engagement. Moreover, the study highlights significant enabling factors, including community involvement, digital teacher competence, and institutional flexibility, while acknowledging barriers such as limited infrastructure and lack of culturally grounded digital resources. The novelty of this study lies in its proposed conceptual framework that bridges traditional character-building narratives with technology-enhanced education, offering a scalable and culturally adaptive solution. By positioning local wisdom not as a counterforce to technology but as a foundation for meaningful moral learning, the research contributes to global discourses on culturally responsive pedagogy. In conclusion, the integration of tradition and digital innovation is not only feasible but essential for fostering ethical and civic-minded students in the 21st century. The resulting framework is expected to be adaptable for diverse educational systems seeking to preserve cultural identity while embracing digital advancement.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial leadership is a leadership style that combines managerial, innovative, and risk-taking abilities to create added value within an organization. In Indonesia, this concept is increasingly relevant across various sectors, including education, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), SMEs, religious organizations, and corporate environments. Entrepreneurial leadership plays a vital role in navigating the challenges of digital transformation and the creative economy era. This literature review aims to analyze the trends, models, and impact of entrepreneurial leadership in Indonesia based on recent research. This study employs a literature review method by examining 20 national scholarly articles published between 2019 and 2025. Data were obtained from open-access journals, books, and relevant research reports. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial leadership significantly enhances organizational performance, fosters pesantren economic independence, strengthens entrepreneurial orientation in SMEs, and encourages innovation in educational and religious institutions. Entrepreneurial leadership is essential for improving competitiveness and sustainability in Indonesian organizations, although it still faces challenges in human resource development, organizational culture, and policy support.

Abstract

Purpose – Financial literacy in Indonesia remains uneven, while early childhood financial education tends to emphasize cognitive skills and marginalize religious and cultural dimensions, particularly in Muslim-majority contexts. This study examines the integration of Islamic values and Madurese local wisdom through transformative learning in early childhood financial literacy education. Design/methods/approach – This qualitative multi-site case study involved 15 participants from two Islamic kindergartens in East Java, comprising eight teachers, two principals, and five parents. Data were collected over six months through non-participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis followed Braun and Clarke’s reflexive thematic analysis. Trustworthiness was enhanced through methodological triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing. Findings – The analysis identified three interrelated themes. The first concerns a pedagogical paradigm shift from teacher-centered to student-centered learning, mediated by the use of local wisdom as experiential learning resources, through the Beyond Centers and Circle Time model. The second theme highlights experiential entrepreneurship development through activities such as cooking classes, Market Day programs featuring Madurese products, and structured charitable practices. The third theme addresses the integration of values-based financial literacy, in which Islamic economic principles, including halal–haram considerations, charity, and social responsibility, are embedded in everyday financial learning activities. Across these themes, implementation was characterized by variation in children’s understanding, ongoing teacher mediation, and developmental constraints. Research implications/limitations – The findings indicate that values-integrated transformative learning can strengthen early childhood financial literacy by connecting economic concepts with ethical and cultural meanings. However, generalizability is limited by the small sample, Madurese cultural context, six-month duration, and qualitative design. Practical implications – Early childhood financial literacy in Muslim-majority settings may be enhanced through integrating Islamic values and local culture, supported by teacher capacity building, family–school collaboration, and pedagogical flexibility. Originality/value – This study contributes to values-integrated financial literacy and transformative pedagogy by showing that ethical, cultural, and economic learning develops through negotiated classroom practices rather than linear processes, with relevance across diverse sociocultural contexts.

Abstract

The maxillary third molar is one of the posterior teeth of the upper jaw that is in proximity to the maxillary sinus. This position can cause complications during third molar extraction. Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is an imaging method that can see the vertical relationship between the tooth root and the maxillary sinus in more detail. The study used a cross-sectional method with sampling using a purposive sampling method. The population in this study was CBCT radiograph data of patients aged 20-50 years. 41 patient data were obtained, with 37 on the right side and 38 on the left side. The relationship between the tooth root and the maxillary sinus was seen in the coronal plane, and a vertical classification was carried out on the position of the tooth root. Spearman correlation analysis with a 95% confidence level obtained a correlation coefficient of -0.175 for the right third molar and -0.196. The significance value of p obtained was 0.301 for the maxillary right third molar and 0.238 for the maxillary left third molar, with a test value of p>0.05. There is no relationship between the vertical classification of the maxillary third molar root and the maxillary sinus in patients aged 20-50 years. DOI : 10.54052/jhds.v5n3.p331-338

Abstract

The degradation of Tengka ethical values among the younger generation in Madura highlights the urgency of preserving culture from an early age. English language learning is often separated from local cultural values, which has the potential to weaken children's cultural identity. This study aims to analyze the process of transforming Tengka values (abhental syahadat, asokon pribadi, andhap asor) and find an effective transformation model through the English for Young Learners program for character building in early childhood at RA Sabilillah Sampang. The research used a qualitative case study approach for four weeks in August 2025 with subjects including one principal, four teachers, twenty students in group B, and ten parents. Data collection techniques included non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results of the study produced the BRIDGE (Building Respectful Identity through Dynamic Global Education) Model, which consists of five components: building a foundation of values, reflecting values in language, integrating values and language, developing character, and fostering cultural identity. The data showed that 78% of children were able to use English expressions of politeness that reflected the value of andhap asor, 75% demonstrated self-control (asokon pribadi), and 70% expressed firmness of belief (abhental syahadat). The BRIDGE model offers a systematic framework for integrating local wisdom with foreign language learning in early childhood education.
