Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of CAKE application in improving the speaking skills of grade II students of SMA Negeri 6 Palopo. CAKE is an artificial intelligence (AI)-based English learning application with a speech recognition feature that provides immediate feedback on the user's pronunciation. The study used a pseudo quantitative experimental method with data collection techniques in the form of pre-test and post-test. The research sample was selected by simple randomization from the student population. The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental class using the CAKE app and the control class using conventional methods based on the results of the independent T-test. However, the app still had a positive impact in improving students' speaking skills. Significant improvements were seen in the “Excellent” and “Moderate” categories in the experimental group compared to the control group. The motivational factor of the students also had an effect on the results of this improvement.

Abstract

The low understanding of the students in mastering the material was cuased by teacher’s method used conventional method and less attention with another method. So that way, it needed an interative learning approach to solve the problems aspecially in prism and pyramid. The learning approach that mean here is Numbered Head Together. The research aimed to increase students’ activities and achievement of SMPN 1 Praya Barat Daya in academic years 2020/2021 by implementing Numbered Head Together learning model. The research used classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycles consist of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subject of the research was students VIII 3 class with total subject 23 students. Based on the data analysis was gotten that there were increasing students activities and achhievement from first cycle to the second cycle with average score 2,77 in active categories with classical completeness 82,60% and average score 78,04. And the cycle to average score was 3,05 with medium categories and the percetage 91.30% with average 83,91. Therefore, it took conclusion that the implementation of Numbered Head Together Learning Model can increase students’ activities and achievement of SMPN 1 Praya Barat Daya in academic years 2020/2021.

Abstract

The research aims to create a narrative literature review with the title Customer satisfaction in the hospitality sector, in particular in the area of hotels, restaurants, and online travel agencies. The research uses three journals as data sources, namely: (1) a journal on customer satisfaction with hotels based on analysis of reviews generated by consumers; (2) a journal on factors that influence customer satisfaction in the restaurant business based on empirical studies from Bangladesh; and (3) a journal on the factors that affect customer content from online travel agencies in India. The study has two research questions, namely: (1) What are the customer satisfaction factors in hospitality? (2) Are there differences in customer satisfaction in the areas of hotels, restaurants, and online travel agencies? The results of this study show that: (1) customer satisfaction factors in hospitality include intrinsic and extrinsic factors that have a different impact depending on the type and level of product or service offered; and (2) there are differences in customer satisfaction in the areas of hotels, restaurants, and online travel agencies caused by different characteristics, expectations, and preferences of customers in each area. This research provides some recommendations to hospitality entrepreneurs on how to identify factors that affect customer satisfaction and adapt them to market conditions and segmentation.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the feasibility and practicality of a connecting website as an information medium for parents of VIP Pesawat Junior High School students. The Research and Development (R&D) process followed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). A total of 92 parents of VIP Pesawat Wates Junior High School class VII students were selected through Simple Random Sampling. Data collection involved validation questionnaires for media and material experts, and practicality surveys for parents. The data was analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. The results show that: (1) The media validation scored 79% on two aspects—design usage and visual communication—indicating the website is feasible as an information medium. (2) The material experts' validation results were 75% for the content/material aspect, 85% for language, 75% for implementation, and 80% for usability, affirming its suitability for use. (3) In terms of practicality, user tests showed a 90% score for usefulness, 77% for ease of use, 86% for ease of learning, and 86% for satisfaction. These scores demonstrate that the connecting website is practical and effective as an information source for parents of students at VIP Pesawat Wates Junior High School

Abstract

Abstract

This study is motivated by students' low critical thinking skills, particularly in three-dimensional geometry. Moreover, the limited availability of effective interactive learning media impedes the development of these skills. Three-dimensional geometry requires a more engaging and interactive approach to enhance understanding. This study aims to develop GeoGebra-based learning media within the Problem-Based Learning model to enhance students' critical thinking skills in mathematics. The research method employed is Research and Development using the ADDIE design model. The study subjects consist of eighth-grade students. The research instruments include validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and tests. The validation results indicate that the GeoGebra validation score is reaching 95.16% (highly valid). The practicality test showed an average score of 96.09% (highly practical). The obtained N-Gain score of 0.7655 (high category) indicates an improvement in students' critical thinking abilities. The findings of this study conclude that the use of GeoGebra in PBL-based learning is effective in enhancing students' mathematical critical thinking skills and can serve as an innovative alternative for teaching three-dimensional geometry. The findings of this study have positive implications for enhancing students' critical thinking skills through the integration of interactive learning tools such as GeoGebra, which can improve engagement and understanding in mathematics.

Abstract

This article revealed the concept of aesthetic resistance in Pramoedya’s Child of All Nations: a shift from a battleground to an intellectual resistance. Explored aesthetic resistance function as a political act in the text of Child of All Nations, and it aimed to reveal the legacies of the oppressive structures that formed the present-day systems. The method employed was descriptive and qualitative, where postcolonial theory served as the analytical lens that framed the colonial epistemologies from past to present. The results finding of this article, Child of All Nations, by Pramoedya Ananta Toer, demonstrates that aesthetic form operates as a mode of resistance. Through narrative style and the act of writing, Minke asserts control over his thoughts and reclaims the authority to define reality. By challenging the colonial narratives imposed upon him, the novel reveals aesthetic resistance to challenging power. Thus, the conclusion of this article is that the aesthetic resistance reclaims narrative authority and rewrites the East from the perspective of postcolonial identity.
