Abstract

Peningkatan kapasitas produksi biodiesel menyebabkan meningkatnya produksi gliserol. Salah satu cara alternatif untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi gliserol adalah melalui esterifikasi gliserol menjadi surfaktan, yaitu gliserol ester (GE). Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan sintesis GE berbasis asam oleat sawit dengan waktu reaksi 180 menit menggunakan katalis p-toluenesulfonic acid (PTSA). Suhu sintesis yang digunakan, yaitu:140, 160, 180, dan 240°C. Hasil uji ANOVA dan Duncan (α = 0,05) menunjukkan bahwa suhu sintesis berpengaruh nyata pada rendemen, angka asam, dan viskositas. Proses sintesis GE optimum diperoleh pada suhu sintesis 160°C dengan nilai rendemen GE sebesar 95,66%, pH 7, nilai angka asam 11,28 mg KOH/g sampel, viskositas kinematis 75,76 cst, dan densitas 0,944 g cm-3. Suhu sintesis 160°C, 180°C, dan 240°C menghasilkan rendemen yang tinggi, berkisar 95,66-97,07% dan tidak berbeda nyata antara ketiganya. Analisis menggunakan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP) juga menghasilkan suhu terbaik untuk sintesis GE adalah 160°C. Produk GE yang terbentuk mengandung gugus ester, asam karboksilat, dan alkohol yang muncul pada 1240,41-1739,62 cm-1.[Kata kunci: biodiesel, esterifikasi, katalis PTSA, surfaktan]

Abstract

Diethanolamide is a non-ionic surfactant from palm oil derivatives that can replace the use of polyoxyetilenamine surfactant in a commercial herbicides. But there is a weakness inthe formula it has low visual appearance to the consumer industry. The aim of this researchwas to study the improvement of herbicide characterization through sonication method. Thisstudy was designed using a complete randomized design of 2 factors with factor 1 is the timeof sonication (0, 30, 60, 90 minutes) and factor 2 is amplitude (20%, 30%, 40%).The bestherbicide formula after sonication at 40% amplitude, 90 minute sonication time having asurface tension of 23,42 dyne/cm, contact angle of 0o and turbidity of 98 NTU.

Abstract

Saat ini rumput laut mengalami penurunan dalam jumlah petani maupun produktivitas yang diakibatkan oleh banyak faktor yang mana. Pemicu utamanya adalah adanya asimetris informasi dalam rantai pasok budidaya rumput laut di Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Salah satu solusi yang dapat ditawarkan adalah pembukaan pusat informasi budidaya rumput laut. Hal ini mengingat kondisi geografis wilayah Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara yang berbentuk kepulauan dan akses jalan, internet serta jaringan telepon seluler yang terbatas. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengestimasi persepsi pelaku usaha mikro rumput laut baik distributor, penjual bibit maupun petani pada gagasan dibentuknya pusat informasi budaya rumput laut. Proses pengumpulan data dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari hingga Mei 2018 menggunakan metode purposive sampling pada 13 desa di 6 kecamatan dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 232 responden. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dan regresi logistic. Data-data yang digunakan diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan in-depth interview. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari sisi sosial ekonomi semakin berumur dan semakin tinggi tingkat pendidikan maka tingkat dukungan pelaku usaha mikro rumput laut pada pusat informasi rumput laut semakin rendah. Khusus bagi pelaku usaha, distributor rumput laut di wilayah ini cenderung menolak adanya pusat informasi rumput lat, hal ini terkait kemampuan mereka dalam memanipulasi harga jual dan kualitas produk. Currently, seaweed has decreased in the number of farmers and productivity caused by many factors, the main trigger of which is the asymmetric information in the supply chain of seaweed cultivation in Southeast Maluku District. Thus, one of the solutions that can be offered is by the opening of the seaweed cultivation information center. The objective of the present research was to estimate the perception of micro seaweed business enterprises namely distributors, sellers of seeds and farmers on the idea of forming the seaweed farming information center in Southeast Maluku District. The data collection was conducted from January to May 2018, using purposive sampling on 13 villages spread over 6 districts with a total sample of 232 respondents. Data analysis methods used in this research was descriptive analysis and logistic regression. The Data was obtained by using questionnaires and in-depth interview. The results showed that from social economic factor, the older and higher education level, tend not to support seaweed information center. In addition, based on the role on seaweed, the distributors in this region tend to reject the idea of forming the information center of seaweed farming, because it will weaken their ability to manipulate the selling price and product quality.

Abstract

Information of technology development is indispensable for research planning. This information is needed by researcher to determine research topics which he will contribute. For journal editor, this information is needed to evaluate research paper draft. Unfortunately, technology development is unable to be measured directly. To measure the development, several methods have been developed using patent and journal as its data. In this work we focused on development of technology map and its measurement in a method to provide information of technology development from Indonesian research journals using text mining and network analysis. The map helps stakeholders to plan their researches. Using journal data from agro-industrial technology, the method is able to identify relation between researches, thus we can develop the time line of the research area. The method can also cluster the researches into nineteen research areas and measure its popularity, importance, affinity to particular group, research type whether breakthrough or incremental, research group retention time, and its saturation.

Abstract

Pemeliharaan pencegahan pada suatu sistem sangat diperlukan untuk menjaga agarkegiatan produksi tidak berhenti. Kehandalan suatu sistem yang baik terlihat darijarangnya terjadi kerusakan pada sistem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merencanakanpemeliharaan pencegahan komponen peralatan rebusan. Untuk itu pertama sekalididentifikasikan distribusi kerusakan komponen menggunakan uji kebaikan suai.Perencanaan pemeliharaan pencegahan kemudian disimulasikan. Hasil simulasimenunjukkan bahwa tindakan pemeliharaan pencegahan untuk komponen Seal pinturebusan sebaiknya dilakukan setiap 356 jam dengan kehandalan meningkat sebesar29,08% pada t = 1039,9207. Tindakan pemeliharaan pencegahan untuk komponen VBeltsebaiknya dilakukan setiap 1205 jam dengan kehandalan meningkat sebesar37,813% pada t = 1969,613.

Abstract

Dispatching is a critical part in current online shopping. It relates to how the delivery man assignment should minimize cost along with the service from a source to an end customer with an appropriate scheduled time. The problem arises as neither enough products to deliver nor delivery men are available for dispatch, resulting in suboptimal service and a waste of money. The study aimed to formulate the cost of restaurant dispatching for inducing a deep learning-based solution with the gated recurrent unit recurrent neural network to receive hourly order data and to engage the result for near feature delivery man schedule with minimum cost. The result showed that cost formulation minimized the number of delivery men times the wage per hour with the constraints of each delivery man carrying a maximum of five orders in one way and 11 work hours/day. The deep learning input model used 1078 historical data which were filtered using the Savitzky-Golay method. The root mean square errors of training and testing were 2.35 and 2.41, respectively. Moreover, the number of delivery men every hour was found in a range from one to four people. Furthermore, the deep learning approach saved costs of up to 43.8%.

Abstract

Air merupakan kebutuhan yang esensial untuk keberlanjutan hidup manusia dan lingkungan. Namun, World Water Forum telah memprediksi bahwa pada tahun 2025, Indonesia akan menjadi salah satu negara yang mengalami krisis air, yang salah satunya disebabkan oleh penurunan kualitas air akibat pencemaran limbah cair industri. Cu(II) merupakan salah satu logam berat pencemar dalam limbah cair industri yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan terhadap kesehatan manusia dan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, adsorben berbasis film Alginat dan film alginat/montmorillonite telah dikembangkan untuk menjerap tembaga dari dalam air secara adsorptif. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan pengujian performa adsorpsi larutan Cu(II) oleh film alginat (A-F-1%, A-F-1.5%, A-F-2%), film alginat montmorillonite (A-M-2%), dan bead alginat (A-B-2%) pada konsentrasi 1.5 mmol/L. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecepatan pengocokan, massa adsorben, morfologi adsorben, serta penambahan campuran Montmorillonite pada film berpengaruh terhadap kinerja adsorpsi Cu(II). Kinerja adsorpsi terbaik didapatkan pada adsorben A-F-2% dengan kecepatan pengocokan 150 rpm, yang menghasilkan persentase pengurangan konsentrasi tembaga dari dalam air sebesar 96,45% setelah tercapainya kesetimbangan (60 menit). Adsorben film Alginat memiliki kecocokan terhadap model isoterm Freundlich dan Langmuir, dengan nilai R2 99,99% untuk kedua model yang diregresikan secara linear.

Abstract

Beef is a perishable product and requires special handling. Demand for beef also fluctuates quite high and is heavily influenced by various religious events and traditions in Indonesia. Under these conditions, for various reasons, beef products are returned from customers to distributors. An increase in the number of products returned from customers leads to high costs and the risk of product damage. The research created an optimization model for product distribution and product recall from customers with minimal costs and risks. The research applied a clustering method using the Density-Based Spatial Clustering (DBSCAN) algorithm to determine the density of customers’ locations and the number of orders. Optimization of distance and distribution and withdrawal costs applied Multi Depot Vehicle Routing Problem (MDVRP) and Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) mathematical modeling. The results indicate three customer clusters with one noise, with the most potential customers in cluster 1. From this condition, product delivery optimization is based on the distance and number of shipments from the two central warehouses. Optimization uses of MDVRP and MILP to model and make company-owned trucks more profitable at high rental truck replacement costs. The research produces a robust model for changes in the truck number and capacity based on sensitivity analysis.

Abstract

Fish oil is a lipid fraction that can be obtained from the extraction process of fish meat and by-products of fish processing. Generally, fish oil is in the triglyceride form, but tends to be unstable and easily oxidized, therefore fish oil is converted to the ethyl ester form which has better stability against oxidation. This study aims to analyze the effect of the transesterification process conditions using the sonication method on the yield and quality of fish oil ethyl ester produced. The design used was a Completely Randomized Factorial Design with 2 factors, there were the sonication time (10, 20, and 30 minutes) and the concentration of KOH catalyst (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5%). The results showed that the highest yield value was found in the 10 minutes and 0.5% KOH of 91.38%. The best ethyl ester quality from the data obtained was found in the 30 minutes and 0.5% KOH with a FFA value of 0.50%, acid value of 1.09 mg KOH/g, saponification value of 214.93 mg KOH/g, ester value 213.84 mg KOH/g, peroxide value 5.86 meq/kg, p-anisidin value 30.02 meq/kg, total oxidation value 40.44 meq/kg, density 0.8745 g/m3, and viscosity 4.81 mm2/s.
