Abstract

Uric acid disease is the end result of purine metabolism that can cause inflammation in the joints, known as gout. This study aims to improve the community's understanding of gout, including its causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment, as well as promote the use of herbal concoctions and rheumatic exercises as preventive and curative measures. The methods used included counseling, demonstration of making herbal concoctions made from ginger, and education on rheumatic exercises in RT 06 Ponorogo Village, Lubuklinggau Utara II District. Evaluation was conducted through pre- and post-activity surveys to assess changes in the level of knowledge and behavior of the community. Results showed that the educational activities significantly improved the community's understanding of gout and implementation of a healthy lifestyle, including a low-purine diet and physical activity. The discussion highlights the importance of a community-based approach involving collaboration between the community, health workers and educational institutions to reduce the prevalence of gout. Follow-up is needed in the form of continuous monitoring and development of similar programs in other areas.

Abstract

Acute respiratory infections are caused by viruses or bacteria. The disease begins with a fever accompanied by one or more symptoms: sore throat or painful swallowing, runny nose, dry cough or phlegm. If the immune defense in the respiratory tract is weakened, this can increase the risk of more serious bacterial infections, such as sinusitis or otitis media. Medical care that can be provided in case of ARI is symptomatic. In addition to medical care, additional therapeutic care can also be given to patients with ARI. One of the complementary therapies that can be given to patients with ARI is simple inhalation of eucalyptus oil. The design of the scientific articles uses a case study model. The subjects used were two children with ARI. Data analysis was done using descriptive analysis. The results of the application showed that after the application of a simple inhalation of eucalyptus oil, the clearance of the subject's airways was again effective, which was marked by a decrease in RR frequency, lack of accumulation of secretions, and a decrease in crackle noise. Mothers who have children with ARI should be able to do or apply a simple inhalation like the one done by the author to try to thin the mucus

Abstract

Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are two non-communicable diseases (NCDs) that have a high prevalence in Indonesia. Both diseases often go undiagnosed at an early stage, which can lead to serious complications such as stroke, heart attack and other organ damage. This health situation analysis aims to identify health problems related to hypertension and diabetes mellitus, their contributing factors, and provide recommendations for better management. Based on the 2018 Riskesdas, the prevalence of hypertension in adults in Indonesia reached 34.1%, hypertension often goes undetected because it does not show obvious symptoms in the early stages. Diabetes mellitus has also increased, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in people aged 15 years and over is 6.9% and most cases are undiagnosed. There were 452 patients with hypertension in the UPTD Puskesmas Muara Bangkahulu in 2023 and an estimated 103 patients with diabetes mellitus in the general clinic at the UPTD Puskesmas Muara Bangkahulu in 2023. After conducting an assessment of residents of RT 27 Pematang Governor village, Muara Bangkahulu sub-district, it was found that some residents had a history of hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The problem of diabetes mellitus in the community, especially in RT 27, The solution to the problem from the situation analysis is to conduct a campaign or education about healthy lifestyles, conduct early detection and health checks related to hypertension and diabetes mellitus with the success indicator of the difference in the increase in knowledge before and after counseling using a questionnaire, and it was found that there was a significant change between before and after the counseling was given, namely in hypertension there was an increase in good knowledge from 21% to 74%, while for less criteria there was a change from 79% to 26%. While counselling about diabetes mellitus, the average pre-test knowledge of the elderly about diabetes mellitus before being given counselling about diabetes mellitus is 65 in the sufficient category. Then the average post-test knowledge of the elderly about diabetes after being given counseling about diabetes mellitus is 80 in the good category, so it can be concluded that there is a significant change in knowledge before and after being given counseling.

Abstract

Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that 90% or 1,769,425 women experience dysmenorrhea, with 10-15% experiencing severe dysmenorrhea. In Indonesia alone, the figure reaches 64.25% among women of reproductive age, which can interfere with daily activities for 1-2 days each month. Many women in Indonesia experience dysmenorrhea but do not seek treatment or management and tend to ignore it. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of acupressure massage on the Sp6 point on reducing menstrual pain among female students in Grade X at SMAN 1 Kota Bengkulu in 2025. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a sample size of 68 female students in Grade X at SMAN 1 Kota Bengkulu. The results of the univariate analysis before the Sp6 acupressure massage intervention showed that most respondents (73.5%) experienced moderate pain. After the acupressure massage intervention at the SP6 point, most respondents (79.4%) reported mild pain. The bivariate analysis revealed a significant effect of acupressure massage at the SP6 point on reducing menstrual pain (p=0.000). There is an effect of acupressure massage at the Sp6 point on reducing menstrual pain in female students in Grade X at SMAN 1 Kota Bengkulu in 2025. Abstract

Hypertension in the elderly occurs due to the aging process in the elderly, namely physiological decline that causes the strength of the heart pumping machine to decrease and large arteries lose their flexibility and become stiff and cannot expand when the heart pumps blood through the arteries which results in increased blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of elderly exercise on changes in blood pressure in elderly with hypertension at the Pagar Dewa Werdha Home, Bengkulu Province in 2024. The research method used was descriptive quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used total sampling technique with a sample size of 30 people representing elderly with hypertension at the Pagar Dewa Werdha Home, Bengkulu Province. The results of the univariate test analysis showed that the average value of systolic blood pressure before the intervention was 160.33 and diastolic 88.47. After the intervention, the average value of systolic blood pressure was 136.17 and diastolic 80.50. The results of the bivariate analysis with the Wilcoxon statistical test results obtained a systolic π-value of 0.000 and a diastolic 0.000. There is an effect of elderly exercise on blood pressure in elderly with hypertension at the Pagar Dewa Werdha Home, Bengkulu Province in 2024. Researchers suggest that the Pagar Dewa Werdha Home, Bengkulu Province can increase public knowledge in the form of counseling efforts regarding the effect of elderly exercise on changes in blood pressure in elderly with hypertension.
