Abstract

The Islamic insurance industry is developing along with the development of the Islamic finance industry. Islamic finance has universal characteristics, namely that it can not only be used by Muslims but also by non-Muslims. This study aims to examine the determinants of non-Muslim communities using sharia insurance products. This study uses quantitative research by collecting data through the distribution of questionnaires with a Likert scale to research respondents totaling 34 people. Respondents were identified as being Hindu, Buddhist, Protestant, Catholic, and Confucian. The analysis technique used in this research is Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The results of this study clearly show that premium rates, products, and promotions partially affect the intention of non-Muslims to use Islamic insurance products. The Islamic insurance literacy variable does not partially affect the non-Muslims intention to use Islamic insurance products. Variables Rates (Premiums), Product Quality, Promotion, and understanding simultaneously influence the intention of non-Muslims to use Islamic insurance. The non-Muslims intention to have sharia Islamic can be explained by the tariff variable, product quality variable, promotion variable, and understanding of 41.4%, while the remaining 58.6% is influenced by other variables outside the variables used in this study.

Abstract

This paper is a literature review that aims to investigate the effect of monetary policy on the performance of Islamic banking. The methodology used is a review of previous studies both on a local Indonesian scale and on an international scale. The result, it was found that there are two classifications of the researchers views regarding this topic. The most of researchers conclude that monetary policy has negative effects on the performance of Islamic banking, while other conclude that monetary policy has no effect on the performance of Islamic banking. The basic thinking for this different findings can be referred to the classical opinion, that monetary policy is a "black box" that is influenced by the behavior of stakeholders, time lag, and changes in the strategy for formulating monetary policy transmission. Some suggestions found of this research is the claim that there is still a lack of sharia-based liquidity instruments that can be used as a valuable input for the monetary authorities.

Abstract

Indonesian capital market regulators have already accommodated Islamic products as one of Indonesian capital market products. Theoretically, Islamic investment promises three main benefits i.e. spiritual, financial, and social benefits. Realizing Islamic investment in the sense of those three main benefits needs serious effort. This paper discusses the perception of capital market investors. This study suggests that their opinion as to whether or not sharī‘ah capital market products had fulfilled their expectations of Islamic comprehensive objectives. Islamic capital market instruments are part of Islamic instruments. The Islamization of financial institutions and instruments in the modern era has emerged not only to meet Muslims’ need for financial activities but also as the medium to realize the higher objectives of Islam, i.e. maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah in economic and financial activities.DOI: 10.15408/sdi.v23i2.2408
