Abstract

This article aimed to analyze the forms of Qawa'id Nahwu's mistakes in the Kalamuna book published by Sabilillah Sampang Islamic Boarding School specifically to improve the abilities of the maharatul kalam. This book consists of various everyday expressions, vocabulary and short stories as well as some debate themes. For beginners who are just learning Arabic, they will always remember the first thing they learned and will always be guided by everything that is learned from the basics. This study used a descriptive method with an error analysis approach (Tahlīl al-Akhtha') while the results of this study show there are errors in Qawa'id Nahwu in the form of Maf'ul Bih, Na'at Man'ut, Ism Ghayr Munsharif, al-Hal, Idhafah, Khabar Kana. Thus, this article can be used as an evaluation and material for consideration for publishers in order that these mistakes do not take root among the students.

Abstract

Islamic religious and ethical education plays an important role in shaping the character of primary school students. To achieve this goal, it’s important to ensure that the material taught in textbooks covers higher cognitive aspects, called higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The purpose of this study is to analyse Islamic religious education and morals textbook for grade 4 elementary school students from the HOTS perspective. The research method used a qualitative approach with document analysis techniques. General textbook used to study Islamic religious teachings and practices for elementary school students were identified and analysed. The focus of the analysis was to find activities that encourage students to think critically, analyse, evaluate and create. The results of the analysis showed that most of the contents of the textbook studied were still not fully in line with the application of HOTS for grade 4 students. Although some questions require general thinking, the proportion of questions is still limited. In addition, some aspects of HOTS such as analysis and evaluation are often not emphasized in the textbook studied. The recommendations of this study can be used by textbook writers, teachers, and education stakeholders to design textbooks that more effectively promote HOTS among students.

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the value of erythropoietin alpha (epoetin) administration, as an alternative treatment of anemia in the operable breast cancer patients. Methods: This is a multicenter phase III randomized clinical trial to evaluate the value of epoetin administration among anemic breast cancer patients who are undergoing anthracyclin-based adjuvant chemotherapy. Sixty four patients were incuded in this trial with initial hemoglobin (Hb) level of 10–12 g/dL. The patients were randomly distributed into two groups: one group received aministration of 40,000 IU epoetin/week for six times a week after operation and the other did not.  In the third week after the operation, both groups were started on a 6 cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy with three weeks intervals. Hb levels were evaluated during every chemotherapy cycle. Results: The Hb levels in the epoetin group were always above 10 g/dL up until the end of the sixth chemotherapy cycle or until the twenty first week post operation without blood transfusion. Conclusions: The administration of epoetin 3 weeks prior and 3 weeks after the first cycles of chemotherapy, maintains a sufficient/normal Hb level in breast cancer patients receiving anthracycline-based chemotherapy. Keywords: Anthracyclin-based chemotherapy, breast cancer, erythropoietin alpha DOI: 10.15850/ijihs.v1n1.102

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of a growth mindset in enhancing Arabic speaking skills, with implications for developing more effective learning strategies. Although increasing attention has been given to affective factors in language learning, the literature specifically linking growth mindset to Arabic speaking skills remains very limited. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review approach following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Articles were retrieved from Scopus, Google Scholar, and Sage databases within the 2018-2025 timeframe. Out of 642 identified publications, only 27 articles met the inclusion criteria and were further analyzed. The findings indicate that a growth mindset positively contributes to improving students’ motivation, self-confidence, and perseverance in speaking skills. In addition, this review reveals a gap in the literature, as most studies still focus on English and Mandarin, while Arabic has not been adequately explored. This study is significant as it provides both theoretical and empirical foundations for developing Arabic language learning strategies based on a growth mindset, while also opening opportunities for further research to test direct interventions in formal educational contexts in developing countries, including Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to identify research directions, thematic patterns, and research gaps through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The PRISMA 2020 framework was employed to screen 445 publications, including those indexed in Scopus and in national journals indexed in SINTA 1–3. The data collection technique used in this study was documentary research, involving the systematic retrieval of scholarly articles from the Publish or Perish (PoP) database, which is indexed in Scopus and SINTA 1–3. Data analysis followed the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, which guided the identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion processes, and ensured transparent and standardised reporting of the systematic review. The findings reveal that SFL-based studies of language textbooks during 2020–2025 are predominantly focused on ideational meaning, particularly transitivity analysis, which is widely used to examine representations of gender, ideology, and social values in English language textbooks. The second dominant strand involves interpersonal meaning, especially appraisal system analysis, while the third focuses on textual meaning through thematic structure, cohesion, and text readability. In addition, the integration of genre analysis and multimodality has emerged, indicating an expansion of SFL applications within discourse-based literacy contexts. The findings also highlight significant research gaps, including the dominance of English-language contexts, the limited number of studies on Arabic and non-Western-language textbooks, and the lack of integration among SFL, corpus-based approaches, and AI-driven analytical technologies. This study concludes that SFL research is moving toward a more integrative and multimodal paradigm, while also offering substantial opportunities to expand SFL-based studies of Arabic language textbooks to strengthen the global representation of Systemic Functional Linguistics in language education.
