Abstract

Kota Bangun III Village, Kota Bangun Darat District, Kutai Kertanegara Regency, is a village that has the potential for tourism development, namely Kumbara Lake. Kumbara Lake is hte result of post-mining land which was developed into a tourist destination for local communities. The lack of facilities at Kumbara Lake has caused the community’s attractiveness to decrease. Apart from that, the lack information regarding Kumbara lake tourism is one of the factors that causes people not to visit Kumbara Lake. Therefore, the 49th KKN of Universitas Mulawarman has designed several prorams, namely, digital promotion and development of Kumbara Lake tourism. The method implemented is by developing facilities and promotions that are distributed through social media. The results of some of these work programs have been carried out well. The public can see the promotions through social media and the output of the work programs implemented is in form of photo spots and promotions video.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide elementary school students with an understanding of the importance of saving. It is also hoped that it can contribute to educating the younger generation with an awareness of saving from an early age. By saving, every child will learn to be independent and not depend on their parents. Saving habits will be better if they get encouragement and motivation from parents. The method of implementing community service is carried out through 'socialization'. Partners in this activity are SDN 027 Kota Bangun, Kota Bangun III Village, Kota Bangun Darat District, Kutai Kartanegara. The number of students who took part in the activity was 30 people, namely those from class IV. The results of this activity are expected to increase interest in saving among elementary school students in Kota Bangun III Village

Abstract

The era of digitalization gives complete freedom to individuals, both parents and children, especially regarding access to all the information disseminated on social media. Of course, the number of gadgets is increasing among children, which has positive and negative effects. Therefore, this service activity aims to socialize digital parenting as a parental strategy to educate their children to use gadgets in a more targeted and time-bound way to reduce the negative impact of gadget use among children. The approach that will be taken is to provide learning or knowledge about the importance of understanding digital education, having the ability to use mobile phones, being critical of the media, and giving understanding through good delivery. At Mulawarman University's community service activities in Jenebora Village with the Digital Parenting Socialisation Work Programme, we delivered educational material about the importance of parents in educating children in today's digital age, which both parents and children attended. It is hoped that through this socialization, parents will increase their supervision of their children. Parents also hoped that this socialization in educating children in the digital era would be the first step in avoiding the harmful effects of mobile phone use on children.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of a daily home-based learning program implemented in Rumah Pintar, Pantai Lango. The program aimed to improve the academic skills of children aged 3-12 years who were experiencing learning difficulties. The intervention, conducted from July 12 to August 2, 2024, provided a structured learning environment outside of school hours. Participants were divided into groups based on their academic levels, addressing needs ranging from basic literacy and numeracy to English language learning. Results indicated that the program was successful in enhancing participants' abilities in reading, writing, and mathematics. However, challenges such as fluctuating daily attendance, attributed to a lack of parental awareness about the importance of home learning, were encountered. Despite these challenges, the program demonstrated the potential of non-formal, home-based learning initiatives in addressing the educational needs of children in underserved areas.

Abstract

Kedayan root is a medicinal plant that is traditionally used by the community as medicine, especially as an antidote to poison. This research aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethyl acetate soluble fraction of Tabar Kedayan root extract (Aristolochia papillfolia Ding hou). The fractionation method used is solid-liquid extraction using ethyl acetate solvent to obtain a soluble fraction of ethyl acetate, then vacuum liquid chromatography fractionation using the eluent ratio n-hexane: ethyl acetate and obtain fraction A, fraction B, fraction C, fraction D, fraction E, fraction F. Testing of antioxidant activity using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method spectrophotometrically. The data obtained was analyzed using linear regression to determine IC50. The results of the C fraction test on the ethyl acetate soluble fraction of Tabar Kedayan roots (A. papillfolia) have antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 139.11 ppm.

Abstract

The anti-inflammatory effect of fart plant leaf extract (Paederia scandens L.) on white rats (Rattus norvegicus) has been carried out. This research shows that the effective dose of the n-hexane fraction of P. scandens leaf extract provides the best anti-inflammatory effect on white rats' feet soles. The study used an artificial edema formation method and periodically measured the volume of white mice's legs using a plethysmometer. The doses used for the extract are 100mg/200g BW, 150mg/200g BW, and 200mg/200g BW. The research data was observed visually. The effective dose of P. scandens leaf extract, which has the best anti-inflammatory effect, is 150mg/200g BW.

Abstract

Soursop (Annona muricata) is reported to have great efficacy in traditional medicine in Indonesia so it is very vulnerable to being faked or sold as low quality. Apart from having a delicious fruit taste, Soursop leaves have also been used as an effective cancer medicine by the public and have been scientifically proven so that Soursop can be used as a phytopharmaceutical product. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research to determine pharmacognosy parameters and marker compounds as ingredients needed to obtain the authenticity of simplicia and plant extracts. This research includes macroscopic and microscopic examination of leaves, macroscopic and microscopic examination of simplicia, fluorescence characteristics of simplicia, determining the solubility of methanol extract in various non-polar and polar solvents as well as the characteristics of marker compounds that can be used as alternatives to existing marker compounds from Soursop (Annona muricata). The research results obtained are important information as a stage for the identification and standardization of soursop leaves (Annona muricata) as a raw material for herbal medicine.

Abstract

Has conducted research Potential and Activities of the Sunscreen Lotion of Bawang Dayak (Eleutherine americana (Aubl.) Merr. by ethanol extract fraction from East Borneo. The purpose of the study was to determine the potency ann activity of the sunscreen ethanol extracts fraction of Bawang Dayak in the preparation of a lotion with the parameter measuring the percent transmission erythema (% Te) and pigmentation (% Tp) in vitro in the room temperature 27oC storage and accelerated temperature 40oC. Lotion dosage formulations using ethanol extracts fraction bawang Dayak with a concentration of 0.1% and 0.2%, and positive control is a trademark preparation Bless Sunscreen Lotion SPF 15®. Stages of research include the formulation and measurement of absorbance and value %Te) and %Tp at various storage temperatures with UV-Vis spectrophotometry at λ 292.5 to 372.5 nm. The analysis of research data using a program SPSS. The results showed that ethanol extract fraction concentration in lotion preparations of bawang Dayak 0.1% and 0.2% active as a sunscreen included in the category of sunblock. The extract fraction is active as a sunscreen and in the Sunbloc category, with the best concentration as a sunscreen being 0.2%, with its sunscreen potential not being significantly different from the control Sunscreen SPF 15® at the 5% level.

Abstract

Naphthalene derivative compounds named Eleutherol (1) and Eleutherol C (2) have been isolated from Bawang Tiwai Bulb Eleutherine bulbosa. We tested its cytotoxic activity against T47D breast cancer cells in vitro after isolating compounds 1 and 2 from the EtOH extract using conventional chromatography methods. Their chemical structures were elucidated based on spectroscopic analysis, including IR, HR-TOFMS, 1D, and 2D NMR, and by comparison to those related spectra previously reported. Compounds 1 and 2 were tested for their cytotoxic effects against T47D breast cancer cells and showed moderate cytotoxicity against T47D breast cancer cells with IC50 values of 117.15 and 80.21 µM, respectively, compared with cisplatin 24.07 µM.
