Abstract

Each student has differences in problem-solving, scientific literacy, and higher-order thinking skills. Gender differences partially influence student mindset. The purpose of this study was to analyze the problem-solving skill and scientific literation of students on different genders. The study adopted and modified the one-shot case study design. The subjects of this study were 76 students who took the Animal Ecology course. Both experimental classes were given treatment using practical activities. Data on students' problem-solving skill were collected by using a test consisting of 25 questions. Whereas scientific literacy was collected by using essay questions. Students’ scientific literacy were categorized into 5 scales that were analyzed by using percentages. Statistical analysis uses descriptive and t-tests to determine differences in problem solving skill on different genders. The results showed that (1) 37.66% of students’ scientific literacy are on a multidimensional and conceptual scale, while the remaining 62.34% were on a functional, nominal and literacy scale, (2) students' problem-solving skill are in the medium category, and there is no difference in problem-solving skill in males and females (p>.05).

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam merancang dan menyusunan petunjuk praktikum dalam rangka persiapan ujian praktik kelas XII. Kegiatan tidak hanya diperuntukkan untuk guru yang mengampu matapelajaran biologi namun juga akan diikuti oleh guru yang mengampu matapelajaran yang akan melaksanakan ujian praktik menjelang Ujian Nasional serta siswa dan siswi kelas XII. Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan guru mampu merancang dan menyusun petunjuk praktikum yang dapat difahami dengan mudah oleh siswa. Sehingga kegiatan ujian praktik dapat berjalan lancar dan menghasilkan hasil evaluasi yang baik. Kegiatan dilaksanakan 2 hari (9 Agustus s/d 10 Agustus 2019) di Aula SMAN 1 Labuapi. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian meliputi koordinasi kegiatan, persiapan alat dan bahan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan diawali pemberian materi oleh pemateri Dr. Akhmad Sukri, M.Pd mengenai cara pembuatan petunjuk praktikum yang baik dan dapat difahami oleh peserta didik, selanjutnya peserta diberikan tutorial/pelatihan atau simulasi praktikum berbasis digital, dengan tujuan peserta didik dapat melakukan praktikum setiap waktu dan dimana saja. Pada kegiatan pengabdian, peserta pelatihan sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan hingga kegiatan selesai. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi sebanyak 88% peserta merasa puas terhadap kegiatan pelatihan dan 12% merasa tidak puas atas terselenggaranya pelatihan.

Abstract

Understanding the concept and attitude of environmental care attitudes is necessary for preserving local excellence. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing local excellence-based comic media on the conceptual understanding and environmental care attitude of Islamic boarding school students of a different gender. This research is quasi-experimental, using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The research was conducted in three Islamic boarding schools, i.e. MTS MT Mamben, SMP IT Putra Ar-Risalah Paok Lombok, and SMP IT Putri Ar-Risalah Paok Lombok, involving 38 female and 30 male students. The research instrument used a test to determine students' conceptual understanding of local excellence and a questionnaire to assess students' environmental care attitudes. Data were analyzed using N-gain, one-way ANOVA, and continued with post hoc tests to determine the effect of implementing comic media in each experimental group. A DIF analysis was carried out on questionnaire items using RASCH to determine students' environmental care attitudes of different genders. The results showed that (a) the implementation of comic media based on local excellence at Islamic boarding schools could increase students' understanding of local excellence (N-gain = 0.44 to 0.60) and increase students' environmental care attitude (N-gain = 0.33 to 0.58), (b) there are differences in concept understanding and environmental care attitude in the experimental group (Sig <.05). These results indicate that there is a relationship between conceptual understanding and students' environmental care attitudes. The higher the conceptual understanding, the higher the students' environmental care attitude, and vice versa, and (c) female students tend to have a better environmental care attitude than male students. However, on the other hand, male students can think logically and rationally, so they tend to care about the causes of damage to local excellence, especially coral reef ecosystems

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with relatively high rates of early marriage compared to others, which indirectly correlates with various issues, including reproductive health. Reproductive health is a crucial aspect of building the quality of future generations. Through community service programs in the form of reproductive health education activities, it is hoped to contribute to enhancing understanding of reproductive health and the age of marriage among adolescents, particularly in the region of Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara. The methods used include the stages of: 1) planning; 2) implementation; and 3) reflection. The education activities involve adolescent boys and girls from Parampuan Village, West Lombok Regency. The results of the community service activities show that participants can understand the importance of reproductive health early on and actively participate in educational activities, as evidenced by attendance rates of over 70%. Participants also responded positively to the educational activities. Thus, community service in the form of reproductive health education can: 1) improve adolescents' understanding of reproductive health; 2) raise awareness among adolescents regarding the ideal age of marriage; and 3) ensure effective implementation of educational activities.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui validitas dan keterbacaan LKS berbasis Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan tiga tahap define, desain dan develop. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar validasi dan angket keterbacaan LKS. Lembar kerja siswa yang telah disusun kemudian divalidasi oleh 3 validator ahli dan dilakukan uji keterbacaan kepada 21 siswa kelas VII. Adapun hasil penelitian pengembangan LKS berbasis Auditory Intellectually Repetition valid digunakan (skor: 3,28 dengan kategori valid), keterbacaan LKS dinyatakan baik (skor: 3,41 dengan kategori baik). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS berbasis Auditory Intellectually Repetition layak dan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar alternatif siswa.The Eligibility of Auditory Intellectually Repetition-Based Worksheets as Alternative Teaching Materials for StudentsAbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the validity and legibility of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) based worksheets. This research is a descriptive quantitative research with three stages i.e define, design and develop. The research data were collected using a validation sheet and a student worksheet readability questionnaire. The student worksheets that had been compiled were then validated by 3 expert validators and readability tests were carried out on 21 class VII students. The results of research on the development of Auditory Intellectually Repetition-based worksheets were valid (score: 3.28 in the valid category), the readability of the worksheets was declared good (score: 3.41 in the good category). So it can be concluded that Auditory Intellectually Repetition-based worksheets was eligible and can be used as alternative teaching materials for students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan laboratorium IPA terhadap pembelajaran Biologi di SMAN 1 Lingsar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ex post facto dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriftif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 1 Lingsar pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Sampel penelitian ini adalah Kepala Laboratoriun dan Siswa kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2 sebanyak 50 siswa. Instrunen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penlitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keefektifan penggunaan laboratorium IPA terhadap pembelajaran di SMAN 1 Lingsar, menunjukkan hasil bahwa Rerata semua butir pernyataan memiliki persentase sebesar 72,97% dengan kategori cukup baik. Nilai persentase yang masih tergolong cukup tersebut dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, yang berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru biologi di SMAN 1 Lingsar, faktor utama yang menyebabkan kurang efektifnya penggunaan laboratorium IPA di SMAN 1 Lingsar, yakni minimnya laboran sebagai pengelola sarana dan prasarana laboratorium, serta tidak ada pembantu laboran dalam mempersiapkan peralatan yang di butuhkan untuk proses praktikum sehingga menyebabkan guru dan siswa mengalami kendala dalam melakukan praktikum di laboratorium. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka perlu dilakukan penataan dalam pengelolaan laboratorium guna memaksimalkan proses praktikum yang lebih baik dan maksimal. Effectiveness of the Use of Science Laboratory on Biology Learning Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the science laboratory for Biology learning at SMAN 1 Lingsar. This research is an ex post facto research with a descriptive quantitative approach. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Lingsar in the even semester of the 2022/2023 school year. The sample for this research was the head of the laboratory and students of class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2, consisting of 50 students. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study show that the level of effectiveness of using the science laboratory for learning at SMAN 1 Lingsar shows that the mean percentage of all statement items is 72.97%, which is in a fairly good category. The percentage value which is still classified as sufficient is influenced by several factors, which are based on the results of interviews with biology teachers at SMAN 1 Lingsar, the main factors causing the ineffective use of the science laboratory at SMAN 1 Lingsar, namely the lack of laboratory assistants as managers of laboratory facilities and infrastructure, and not there are laboratory assistants in preparing the equipment needed for the practicum process, causing teachers and students to experience problems in doing practicum in the laboratory. Based on this, it is necessary to make arrangements in laboratory management in order to maximize the better and maximum practicum process.

Abstract

Kabupaten Lombok Tengah memiliki potensi pengembangan ternak kerbau yang cukup besar.Pada tahun 2014, populasi kerbau mencapai 19.293 ekor. Besarnya potensi pengembanganternak kerbau di Kabupaten Lombok Tengah perlu diikuti upaya pelestarian plasma nutfahkerbau. Salah satu upaya pelestarian plasma nutfah kerbau dapat dilakukan melalui analisiskarakter morfologi kerbau. Penelitian ini mengkaji karakter morfologi kerbau lokal (Bubalusbubalis) di Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 21 ekor kerbau yangdiambil dari dua kecamatan yang berbeda. Parameter morfologi yang diamati meliputi (1)panjang kepala, (2) panjang leher, (3) panjang ekor, (4) panjang kaki, dan (5) lingkar dada.Selain itu, dilakukan pencatatan umur dan sifat kualitatif meliputi (1) warna dan bentuk tubuh,(2) warna mata, dan (3) bentuk tanduk. Analisis one way anova dilakukan untuk mengetahuiperbedaan rerata nilai masing-masing parameter morfologi yang dibedakan berdasarkankelompok umur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat perbedaan variasi fenotip kerbau lokalLombok Tengah yang meliputi warna dan bentuk tubuh, warna mata dan bentuk tanduk. Hasilanalisis statistik mengungkapkan bahwa ada perbedaan panjang kepala, panjang kaki, danpanjang leher untuk masing-masing kelompok umur kerbau dimana kerbau yang memiliki umurlebih dari 37 bulan cenderung memiliki kepala, leher, dan kaki yang lebih panjangdibandingkan kelompok umur 0-12 bulan dan 13-24 bulan. Sedangkan untuk parameterpanjang ekor dan lingkar dada tidak ditemukan perbedaan rerata nilai yang signifikan diantarakelompok umur (p>0,05).Kata kunci—Morfologi, Bubalus bubalis, Lombok Tengah

Abstract

Salah satu potensi hasil pertanian lokal di Pulau Lombok adalah kacang komak. Secara ekonomi kacang komak sangat berpotensi sebagai sumber protein nabati. sehingga kacang komak dapat menjadi alternatif substitusi kedelai dalam pembuatan tempe. Namun saat ini, pengolahan  kacang-kacangan menjadi pangan fungsional sebagai sumber protein alternatif dan produk yang   bernilai ekonomi tinggi masih sangat kurang. Permasalahan lainnya yang terjadi di masyarakat (mitra) adalah proses produksi tempe masih tergantung pada pasokan bahan baku kedelai. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah: (1) meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra tentang diversifikasi pangan lokal kacang komak sebagai pengganti kedelai, (2) mengembangkan inovasi produk dengan variasi yang berbeda yaitu keripik tempe komak dan (3) meningkatkan keterampilan dalam menggunakan teknologi pembuatan keripik tempe komak, sekaligus peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada sentra industri tempe di lingkungan Abian Kelurahan Pejeruk Ampenan kota Mataram pada bulan Juli-Oktober 2024. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah dan demonstrasi pelatihan pembuatan tempe komak. Berdasarkan hasil pretest sebesar 17% dan postest sebesar 93% diketahui ada peningkatan  pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta terkait pengolahan kacang komak. Selain itu, 90% peserta juga menyampaikan minat untuk mengembangkan produk tempe komak lebih lanjut. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan tersebut efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, serta berpotensi mendorong pemberdayaan ekonomi melalui usaha berbasis bahan pangan lokal. Development of Food Diversification Through Processing Komak Chips as a Healthy Snack Abstract One of the potential local agricultural products on Lombok Island is komak beans. Economically, komak beans have great potential as a source of vegetable protein. so that komak beans can be an alternative substitute for soybeans in making tempeh. However, currently, the processing of nuts into functional food as an alternative protein source and product with high economic value is still very lacking. Another problem that occurs in the community (partners) is that the tempeh production process still depends on the supply of soybean raw materials. The objectives of this community service activity are: (1) increasing partners' knowledge about local food diversification of komak beans as a substitute for soybeans, (2) developing product innovation with different variations, namely komak tempe chips and (3) increasing skills in using chip making technology tempe komak, as well as improving community welfare. This activity was carried out at the tempe industrial center in the Abian area, Pejeruk Ampenan subdistrict, Mataram city in July-October 2024. The methods used included lectures and Training demonstrattions on making tempe komak. Based on the pretest resultan of 17% and posttest of 93%, it is known that there has Een an increase in participants in participants knowledge and understanding regarding the procssing of komak nuts. A parit krom that, 90% of pasticipants also expressed Intertest in developing tempe komak Products further. These resultan Shaw that the Training is effective in increasing particioants knowledge and skills, and has the potential to encourage economic empowerment through local Food-based businesses.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and produce a high-quality (valid, practical, and effective) ethno-inquiry practical guide to train students' critical thinking skills. This research is developmental and uses the R&D model. The teaching material developed was applied to 85 students from the Biology Education Department. The analysis of the practical guide's quality was conducted using average validity scores, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, paired t-test, N-gain, and ANOVA tests. The results show that the ethno-inquiry practical guide meets the following criteria: 1) valid based on content and construct validity reviews, 2) practical for use in learning, as indicated by excellent implementation of learning activities, and 3) effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills with scores ranging from 0.40-0.52 (medium category). Based on student responses, the ethno-inquiry practical guide is categorized as good. This research implies that the practical guide can serve as an innovative solution to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a numeric–phenetic study of Lablab purpureus (L) Sweet based on morphology character and DNA fingerprinting with cophenetic–correlation algorithm confirmation. DNA genome extraction is based on the Blood Animal Plant DNA Preparation Kit. Ten RAPD primers were chosen for the amplification DNA genome, including OPA-6, OPA-8, OPA-10, OPA-20, OPC-19, OPD-8, OPD-12, OPE-8, OPE-15, and OPE-16. Cophenetic correlation is used to analyze three clustering algorithms (Nearest Neighbor, UPGMA, Farthest Neighbor) and five similarity indexes (Simple Matching, Jaccard, Nei & Li, Sorensen, Yule). Lablab purpureus (L) Sweet samples have shown morphology variation, mostly on flowers, pods, and seeds. DNA fingerprinting reveals a variety of band numbers ranging from 300BP to 1000BP. RAPD analysis revealed a total of 87 bands, including 18 polymorphic bands, with an average percentage polymorphism of 31.15%. The UPGMA technique was developed as a result of cophenetic-correlation analysis, and the Jaccard similarity index is the optimal combination for dendrogram generation. The topology of a morphology character dendrogram differs slightly from that of a DNA fingerprinting dendrogram. It concluded that the UPGMA algorithm and Jaccard similarity index is the optimum combination to analyze the diversity of L. purpureus (L) Sweet accession from East Java, resulting in the accession of this species having high diversity. This research can give a novel approaching method in the taxonomy field, which is combining morphological and molecular data.
