Abstract

Cupping has become an alternative treatment method that is increasingly known to the Indonesian people, marked by the proliferation of health homes or clinics that provide this service. Cupping therapy is believed to be effective in lowering blood sugar levels. Cupping is a treatment technique that uses special cups to help smooth blood flow and energy. While gymnastics is a form of physical exercise used to keep the body fit and healthy and maintain cardiopulmonary endurance. This study aims to analyze the effect of wet cupping therapy and gymnastics on reducing blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus in RW 08, West Pamulang. The research design used was quasi-experimental with a pre-post test with control group approach. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling, involving 40 respondents who were divided into two groups: 20 respondents as the cupping group and 20 respondents as the gymnastics group. The instruments used included the Easy Touch/Glucose Cholesterol Uric Acid (GCU) tool and observation sheets. The results showed that in the treatment group there was a significant decrease in blood sugar levels before and after wet cupping therapy, based on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a p value of 0.000 (<0.05). In the group given gymnastics training, there was also a decrease in blood sugar levels, with a paired sample t-test, a p value of 0.00 (P <0.05) was obtained. The Mann-Whitney test to compare the treatment and control groups also showed a significant difference, with a p value of 0.000 (<0.05). This decrease in blood sugar levels is influenced by various factors such as diet and frequency of therapy. Wet cupping therapy, with a duration of 30 minutes at certain points on the body, can be an alternative treatment to control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus. Researchers recommend that wet cupping therapy be carried out routinely in RW 08, West Pamulang, to maintain stable blood sugar levels so that it can reduce dependence on pharmacological therapy.

Abstract

The challenge of diversity in the era of globalization is an important issue that cannot be avoided by any country, including Indonesia. To maintain unity and strengthen national identity, the values of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika need to be understood and applied in everyday life. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) through the theme of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika at SMK Negeri 1 Klaten, focusing on implementation strategies, student involvement, and the impact on strengthening religious values and tolerance for diversity. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika theme in P5 is able to increase students' awareness of the importance of diversity, strengthen attitudes of tolerance, and increase active participation in cross-cultural project-based activities. However, challenges remain, such as students' limited initial understanding of the concept of diversity and the heterogeneity of their backgrounds. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening diversity literacy from an early age to reinforce unity within the school environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the strategy for aqidah (Islamic creed) internalization through tauhid-based educational management at Cinta Medina School Surakarta, an Islamic preschool institution that embeds tauhid values into its curriculum, instructional activities, and institutional culture. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews with the school’s foundation management, and document analysis. The findings indicate that aqidah internalization is systematically implemented through four core components: tauhid-focused instructional planning, integration of thematic and ritual activities such as dhuha and dzuhur prayer in congregation, collaborative engagement of teachers and parents, and reflective narrative-based spiritual assessment. A key innovation is the implementation of a dedicated subject called “First Tauhid,” delivered twice weekly using fun learning methods rooted in fitrah development. The study affirms the relevance of the Islamic Early Childhood Education framework and Al-Attas’ Theory of Fitrah, and contributes a replicable, holistic model of Islamic educational management for early childhood institutions. Abstract

This study investigates the impact of implementing the Smart Tihamah mobile application on students’ savings participation and the ease of education fee (SPP) payments at MA Tihamah Putra. In the digital era, mobile financial applications are increasingly used by educational institutions to enhance financial efficiency, transparency, and convenience for students and parents. However, few empirical studies have specifically examined the role of educational mobile apps in improving financial behaviors and administrative efficiency at the secondary education level, particularly within Islamic schools. This research adopts a quantitative explanatory approach using structured questionnaires and school documentation to assess the effects of the application. The study sample comprises 100 students selected via stratified random sampling. Results reveal that the Smart Tihamah app significantly enhances both savings participation (R² = 0.56) and tuition payment convenience (R² = 0.61), with statistically significant t-test and F-test values supporting its effectiveness. The findings underscore the importance of digital innovation in promoting financial inclusion and operational improvement in education, while also identifying key contextual factors—such as digital literacy, user trust, and social support—that influence app adoption and impact. The study provides practical insights and theoretical contributions for the development and implementation of educational mobile financial systems aimed at improving student financial outcomes and institutional efficiency.

Abstract

Introduction: Sleep problems are increasing in the elderly, with approximately 60% of elderly in Indonesia experiencing them. Sleep disorders can impact daily activities and increase the risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Non-pharmacological therapies such as low-impact aerobics were chosen because they can stimulate the production of serotonin and melatonin, which regulate circadian rhythms. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest with a control group. A total of 24 elderly were selected purposively and divided into two groups: 12 in the treatment group and 12 in the control group. The low-impact aerobic intervention was carried out 3 times a week for 4 weeks. Sleep quality was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Results: There was a significant increase in the mean sleep quality in the treatment group (mean score from 14.00 to 7.33; p=0.0001), while the control group experienced a non-significant decrease (12.33 to 13.00; p=0.071). There was a significant difference in the mean sleep quality between groups (-5.67, p=0.0001). Conclusion: Low-impact aerobics effectively improves sleep quality in the elderly and can therefore be used as an alternative to physiotherapy interventions.

Abstract

This study examines how teachers in three types of Indonesian lower secondary schools—a general lower secondary (SMP), a madrasah (MTs), and a traditional pesantren—navigate the tension between cultivating religious faith and fostering critical inquiry. Qualitatively designed, the study employed purposive sampling to select teachers, principals, and vice principals from three school types under a single educational foundation. Data were gathered through focus group discussions and semi-structured interviews, and analyzed thematically to explore how Islamic education is understood and practiced. The findings of this study indicate that Islamic education in Indonesia’s lower secondary schools—across SMP, MTs, and pesantren—is a dynamic and context-sensitive practice shaped by institutional ethos, teacher interpretations, and local socio-cultural realities. The tension between faith and inquiry, a central theme in Islamic educational theory, is not experienced as a binary but negotiated along a continuum. Teachers support questioning to varying degrees, with SMP allowing guided inquiry, MTs placing faith-based boundaries, and pesantren emphasizing critical thinking within Islamic sciences. Integration of religious and secular knowledge also ranges from ethical linkages to philosophical unification, depending on institutional vision and pedagogical approach. Despite challenges, all three school types show selective adaptation to technological, curricular, and societal changes—preserving Islamic values while engaging with contemporary demands. This confirms that Islamic education in Indonesia is an evolving project—shaped by the people, context, and purposes it serves.
