Abstract

Abstract. The technology industry faces major challenges in managing its workforce amid global economic uncertainty and rapid technological developments. Mass layoffs are a common strategy used to increase efficiency, such as what happened at Spotify Technology S.A. in 2023. This article aims to analyze the causes of mass layoffs at Spotify and identify strategies that can be implemented to prevent layoffs in the technology industry. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and secondary data analysis, this article finds that the main factors of layoffs at Spotify include the global economic slowdown, suboptimal investment in business expansion, and increased automation based on artificial intelligence. Alternatively, companies can implement strategies such as more efficient organizational restructuring, employee skill enhancement (upskilling and reskilling), diversification of revenue sources, work flexibility, and transparency in decision-making. By implementing these strategies, companies can maintain business stability without significantly sacrificing their workforce.

This type of research is quantitative with a purposive sampling technique distributed through questionnaires fast food consumer’s restaurant respondents aged 18-27 years and domiciled in the Bekasi area. Primary data analysis was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The results of this study indicate that the food quality variable has the greatest direct influence on customer satisfaction, then the trust variable does not moderate the relationship between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. This study contributes to fast food restaurants in maintaining and increasing customer satisfaction can be seen from several factors, namely prioritizing food quality as an effort to improve restaurant quality, especially related to the menu offered. Abstract

The This community service activity was conducted through collaboration between the Mathematics Study Program of the Republic of Indonesia National University and SMA PGRI Cicalengka, involving 80 participants consisting of 12th-grade students. The one-day program aimed to enhance students' understanding of mathematics applications in science and technology (IPTEK), including programming algorithm simulations, through interactive lectures. The sessions focused on developing logical thinking, strategic problem-solving skills, and awareness of mathematics' role in daily life. The event began with an opening ceremony attended by school representatives, faculty members, and university officials. Two main sessions were delivered: the first covered practical applications of mathematics in everyday contexts, while the second highlighted its role in advancing IPTEK through online gaming. Active participation was observed during Q&A sessions. The program concluded with a satisfaction survey, with results analyzed and published as part of the activity's outcomes. Overall, this initiative successfully introduced students to the interdisciplinary relevance of mathematics while fostering engagement through interactive learning. Follow-up evaluations will assess its impact on strengthening students' appreciation of mathematics in technological and real-world applications.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of guidance and counseling (GC) programs in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools) and their effects on students’ academic and behavioral outcomes. Conducted at MI Undruss Binangun using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through interviews with counselors, teachers, and students. The results show that GC programs contributed positively to student development—78% of students experienced a 15–20% improvement in academic grades, and 72% reported enhanced emotional regulation and conflict resolution skills. However, challenges such as limited time allocation, lack of parental awareness, and inadequate facilities hinder optimal implementation. Anchored in Bandura’s social learning theory, the study highlights the importance of structured guidance in shaping student behavior and achievement. To strengthen GC effectiveness, the study recommends integrating GC into the school curriculum, enhancing counselor training, and upgrading facilities. Future research should investigate digital-based GC models to broaden reach and accessibility. These findings support the advancement of holistic education in Islamic elementary schools and provide valuable insights for educators and policymakers aiming to improve student well-being and academic success.

Abstract

This study explores the shifting consumption behavior in society amidst the rapid digitalization of payment systems, particularly through the use of digital payments, which have become an integral part of the economic activities of the younger generation. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of digital payment usage on consumptive behavior, taking into account the mediating role of financial self-control and the moderating role of financial literacy. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing primary data collected through questionnaires distributed primarily to university students. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) to identify patterns of relationships among the studied variables. A total of 153 respondents participated in this study. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software, which enabled comprehensive testing of measurement validity, reliability, and structural relationships among variables. The results indicate that higher intensity of digital payment usage is associated with a greater likelihood of uncontrolled and impulsive consumptive behavior. However, individuals' ability to exercise financial self-control significantly mitigates this negative effect and supports more prudent financial decision-making. On the other hand, financial literacy did not exhibit a significant moderating effect, although it is still conceptually considered important in shaping rational financial attitudes. The discussion highlights the need for the development of digital features that promote financial discipline. Therefore, financial management strategies in the digital era should be holistic, adaptive, collaborative, and oriented toward fostering healthy, balanced, and sustainable consumption behavior.
