Abstract

In the current data-driven era, data literacy is a critical competency, yet many high school students lack practical training in essential software like Microsoft Excel, creating a significant skills gap. To address this challenge, the Mathematics Study Program at Universitas Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia conducted a community service program designed to empower high school students with foundational data analysis and visualization skills through a structured, hands-on Excel workshop. The program employed a phased approach, beginning with a socialization session for 31 students, followed by an intensive training workshop for a final cohort of 12 students. The workshop was segmented into three progressive modules: Foundations of Data Management, Logical Analysis and Data Interpretation, and Data Visualization. The program's effectiveness was evaluated using qualitative performance-based assessments and a feedback survey to measure changes in skill and confidence. The results indicate that the training was highly successful, demonstrably improving participants' competence and confidence as evidenced by overwhelmingly positive survey feedback. The foundational and data visualization modules were particularly effective, while the module on logical functions was identified as the most significant challenge for students. This initiative not only succeeded in delivering essential digital skills for college and career readiness but also offered valuable pedagogical insights, confirming the effectiveness of hands-on workshops and highlighting areas for refinement in technical education.

Abstract

Abstract

Women entrepreneurs in MSMEs are increasingly recognized for their role as drivers of the national economy and important contributors to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to poverty alleviation, gender equality, and sustainable economic growth. This study aims to analyze how women entrepreneurs in halal MSMEs contribute to accelerating the achievement of the SDGs in Indonesia. The method used was library research, reviewing various scientific literature, official institutional reports, and government regulations relevant to Islamic economic issues and the role of women in MSMEs. The results show that women entrepreneurs not only play a role as drivers of the family economy but also as agents of social development by creating new jobs, strengthening local economic resilience, and increasing community halal literacy. Halal MSMEs have been shown to have high levels of consumer trust and resilience to crises, but they still face obstacles such as access to capital, digital literacy, and minimal support for gender-based affirmative policies. In conclusion, strengthening the capacity of women in the halal MSME ecosystem is an effective and strategic strategy to support the acceleration of the SDGs in an inclusive and sustainable manner. Keywords: Women Entrepreneurs; Halal MSMEs; and SDGs.

Abstract

The land case in Cikopomayak and Neglasari Villages, Bogor Regency, presents unique legal complexities. This study analyzes the legal conflict that arose between the settlement process for Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) assets and the implementation of the land redistribution program, focusing on the cancellation of 300 certificates in Cikopo Mayak, Jasinga, Bogor. The case stemmed from the confiscation of land by the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) in 1999 as part of BLBI debt collection. The land was then allocated for the land redistribution program by the ATR/BPN, with certificates issued to the community from 2015–2020. However, Cibinong District Court Decision No. 182/Pdt.G/2021/PN.Cbi determined that the land was still under state confiscation status for the settlement of BLBI obligor obligations, resulting in the cancellation of the issued certificates. The findings indicate that the lack of synchronized coordination between institutions and the unclear status of the assets were the main factors in the dispute. This case highlights the need for policy reform and procedural certainty to ensure that the settlement of BLBI assets does not compromise the rights of recipients of the redistribution funds and to prevent similar conflicts in the future.

Abstract

Data literacy has become an essential competency for students in the digital era, particularly at the secondary education level where foundational numeracy skills are developed. Spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel offers an accessible platform for integrating mathematical concepts with practical data analysis and visualization. This study aims to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of a spreadsheet-based instructional intervention in improving high school students’ data literacy skills. A quasi-experimental one-group pre-test–post-test design was employed involving 12 senior high school students from SMAS Sebelas Maret, Bandung. The instructional intervention consisted of three integrated modules: Introduction to Excel and Data Literacy, Data Analysis and Logical Functions, and Data Visualization. Students’ competencies were assessed before and after the intervention using a structured test aligned with these modules. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired-sample t-tests, and effect size estimation (Cohen’s d). The results indicate a statistically significant improvement in overall performance from pre-test to post-test (p < 0.05), accompanied by a large effect size (d = -0.96), demonstrating substantial practical impact. The strongest learning gains were observed in data visualization skills, while data analysis and logical functions showed more moderate improvement. These findings suggest that spreadsheet-based instruction is an effective approach for enhancing data literacy and applied numeracy skills among high school students.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of conflict between traders and market managers during the development of a new local market at Pasar Pagi Betung, Banyuasin Regency. The development of the new local market, which aims to improve the organization and function of traditional markets, has instead given rise to various social and economic problems for traders. The conflict stems from unequal power relations, limited involvement of traders in policy-making processes, and differences in economic access between traders who remain in the old local market and those who occupy the new local market. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with traders, market managers, and representatives of government agencies responsible for market management, and was supported by field observations and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the conflict reflects the command-obey-class relationship as explained in Ralf Dahrendorf's conflict theory, where market managers and the government have policy authority, while traders are in a position to adapt to these decisions. The impacts of the new local development are felt unevenly, including decreased income, insecurity, and unequal economic opportunities. This study concludes that conflict is a consequence of a development process that is not fully participatory, necessitating more inclusive and equitable conflict management.
