Abstract

Lexical errors in translation often lead to conceptual misunderstandings and semantic distortion, especially in academic contexts where terminological precision is crucial. This study aims to analyze lexical errors in the translation of Indonesian scientific articles into Arabic, focusing on the types, causes, and implications of such errors. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, this research examines five translated academic articles through comparative textual analysis. The findings reveal that lexical misuse, omission, and mistranslation are the most frequent types of errors. These errors typically stem from inadequate lexical equivalence, lack of contextual comprehension, and overreliance on digital translation tools. The study concludes that strengthening lexical awareness and contextual understanding is essential for improving translation quality. The results are expected to contribute to translation pedagogy, enhance scientific communication, and support the development of Arabic–Indonesian academic translation standards.ABSTRAKKesalahan leksikal dalam penerjemahan sering menyebabkan kesalahpahaman konsep dan distorsi semantik, terutama dalam konteks akademik di mana ketepatan istilah sangat penting.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to understand the process of developing Uno Card learning resources to improve Arabic vocabulary comprehension and to determine their effectiveness for seventh-grade female students at the Darul Istiqomah Islamic Boarding School in Bondowoso during the 2024/2025 academic year. This study employed a research-and-development methodology based on the ADDIE model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, pre-tests, and post-tests. For data analysis, the researcher used an independent sample t-test, and to assess the effectiveness of the product, an N-Gain test was used. The findings of this study are: 1) The development of Uno Cards learning resources was carried out in five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The learning material achieved an overall validity score of 95.2% with a "highly valid" criterion, while the learning resources themselves achieved an overall validity score of 100% with a "highly valid" criterion. 85% of students gave this learning tool a very good rating. The calculated t-value of 7.502 was greater than the tabulated t-value of 2.002, indicating rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha. This showed that the Uno card learning tool was effective in improving seventh-grade students' Arabic vocabulary comprehension. The average N-Gain score in the experimental class was 60.08, which falls into the "fairly effective" category according to the effectiveness criteria.

Abstract

This study examined the implementation and effectiveness of HelloTalk in improving Arabic speaking skills among eighth-grade students at Ban Yaning Islamic School, Narathiwat, Thailand. A quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest model was employed, involving 30 students selected purposively. Data were collected through speaking tests, observation, interviews, and documentation, while speaking performance was assessed through pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that students’ mean score increased from 49.67 in the pretest to 77.33 in the posttest, with a Wilcoxon significance value of 0.000, indicating a statistically significant improvement. However, the N-Gain score of 18.83% indicated low practical effectiveness. This study implies that HelloTalk can support Arabic speaking practice as a supplementary medium, but its use should be strengthened through structured teacher guidance, stable internet access, sufficient implementation time, and communicative speaking tasks.

Abstract

Arabic language learning, particularly speaking skills (mahārah kalām), still faces various challenges, such as the use of conventional methods and low student participation. With the advancement of technology, the use of digital media has become an innovative alternative to enhance learning effectiveness. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Durusullughah application in improving the Arabic speaking skills of seventh-grade students at MTsN 5 Jember. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test control group model. The sample consisted of two groups: an experimental class and a control class, each comprising 27 students. Data collection techniques included tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using the Independent Samples t-Test. The results indicate a significant improvement in speaking ability among students in the experimental class compared to the control class, as evidenced by a post-test average score of 77.59 in the experimental class and 64.07 in the control class. Furthermore, the statistical test results showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Thus, it can be concluded that the Durusullughah application is effective in improving students’ Arabic speaking skills.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of using appropriate learning media to achieve learning objectives optimally, especially in Arabic language learning, which often faces challenges such as low student interest and motivation. One of the media that can be used is video, as it presents material in an audio-visual form, making it more engaging and easier to understand. This study aims to describe the implementation of video media in Arabic language learning in class VIII B at MTs Maftahul Huda Jenggawah. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field research (case study) design. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data is ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results of the study show that the implementation of video media in Arabic language learning is carried out systematically through several stages: the teacher prepares the lesson plan (RPP), prepares multimedia equipment, opens the lesson, explains the learning objectives, delivers the material, uses video media that is appropriate and supports the material, provides additional explanations, concludes the lesson, and closes the learning session. The use of video media contributes positively to creating a more engaging and interactive learning environment. This study contributes to the development of Arabic language learning based on digital media and can serve as a reference for teachers in implementing innovative teaching strategies. Future research is recommended to examine the effectiveness of video media on students’ learning outcomes quantitatively or through experimental studies by comparing various types of learning media.
