Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the quality of vocational education by strengthening the management of the Teaching Factory (TeFa) at SMK Muhammadiyah Purwodadi. This model requires active student involvement in the production of goods or services in accordance with workplace standards, thereby fostering technical, managerial, and professional competencies. The implementation method uses a participatory and collaborative approach, encompassing four main stages: (1) identifying the needs and readiness of target schools, (2) developing training materials based on the results of the needs analysis, (3) implementing TeFa management training using a problem-solving approach and hands-on practice, and (4) providing post-training mentoring and evaluation. The results of the activity demonstrated a significant improvement in the managerial and technical capabilities of TeFa managers. Based on the evaluation results, participants were able to develop a production management plan integrated with the curriculum. In addition, training participants successfully implemented the concept of industrial cooperation in learning activities. Positive impacts were also seen from the increase in student participation in production projects and the increasing variety of workshop service products managed by the School. Thus, this training model can be used as a reference for other vocational schools in developing productive, innovative, and competitive TeFa management.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media for motorcycle hydraulic brake systems through three main aspects. First, it examines the development procedures covering the planning, design, and implementation stages. Second, it evaluates the feasibility of the developed media for Automotive Engineering Education students at Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo in terms of effectiveness, ease of use, content relevance, and visual and functional appeal. Third, the study analyzes the effect of the media on improving students’ learning motivation, including learning interest, active participation, and persistence in understanding automotive materials. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach involving purposively selected students from the Automotive Engineering Education program. Data were collected using questionnaires to assess media feasibility and student responses. Data analysis consisted of a normality test, homogeneity test, and a t-test to identify significant differences between pre- and post-intervention learning outcomes. The results indicate that the developed learning media is feasible and effective, and has a positive impact on students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes at Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Audio video media based on the discovery learning model. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this study consisted of 3 media experts, 3 material experts, teachers and 24 students of SMK Otomtif. The data collection methods used consisted of observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, posttests, and performance with qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study, a review from media experts showed a percentage of 92% (very good), material experts 95% (very good), teacher questionnaires 97% (very good), student questionnaires 99% (very good), posttests using multiple choice questions. Based on the results of the analysis, video media based on the discovery model is effective for learning the theory of SMK Otomtif students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji: (1) pengaruh metode pembelajaran Student Teams-Achievement Divitions (STAD) terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar ditinjau dari potensi akademik siswa, (2) pengaruh metode pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar ditinjau dari potensi akademik siswa, dan (3) interaksi antara metode pembelajaran dan potensi akademik siswa dalam pengaruhnya terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental research) dengan desain faktorial yang dilakukan dengan memberikan perlakuaan dalam metode pembelajaran. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas sebagai sampel dan kedua kelas tersebut diberikan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan dua metode berbeda. Satu kelas menggunakan metode STAD, sedangkan kelas yang lainnya diberikan metode PBL. Untuk variabel bebas yang lain yaitu variabel atribut potensi akademik siswa dijadikan sebagai variabel yang ikut mempengaruhi variabel terikat. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel dengan jumlah 52 siswa dengan kelompok STAD 25 siswa dan kelompok PBL 27 siswa. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis varian (ANAVA) dengan progam SPSS 18.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat interaksi antara metode pembelajaran dengan potensi akademik siswa dan pengaruhnya terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar siswa, (2) secara keseluruhan tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar dengan metode pembelajaran Student Teams-achievement Division STAD dan metode pembelajaran Problem Based Learning, (3) secara keseluruhan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan potensi akademik tinggi dan rendah, (4) tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan metode Student Teams-achievement Division STAD antara siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan potensi akademik tinggi dan rendah, (5) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan metode Problem Based Learning antara siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan potensi akademik tinggi dan rendah.THE INFLUENCE OF METHOD OF STUDENT TEAMS-ACHIEVEMENT DIVISION (STAD) AND PROBLEM BASED LEARNING ON LEARNING OUTCOMES VIEWED FROM ACADEMIC POTENTIAL STUDENTS OF SMK AUTOMOTIVEAbstractThis study aims to examine: (1) the influence of teaching methods Student TeamsAchievement Divitions (STAD) for improvement learning outcomes viewed from academic potential students , (2) the influence of teaching methods Problem Based Learning for improvement learning outcomes viewed from academic potential students, and (3) the interaction between teaching methods and the academic potential students and its effects on the students learning outcomes. For the other independent variables are the academic potential students attribute variables used as variables that influence the dependent variable. The research designed employed in this study was a 2 x 2 factorial design. This study involved a sample consisting of 52 students, divided into the STAD group (25 students) and the PBL group (27 students). The data were analyzed by means of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) using the SPSS 18 program. The results of the study were as follows: (1) there is a interaction between the method of learning with academic potential students and its effect on student achievement, (2) On the whole, there is no difference between the learning outcomes of students taught with the learning method Student Teams-Achievement Division STAD and Problem Based learning, (3) On the whole, there are differences in learning outcomes between students who have academic potential ability of high and low, (4) there is no difference in learning outcomes of students who were taught by the method of student Teams-achievement Division STAD between students who have the academic potential ability high and low, (5) there are differences in learning outcomes of students who were taught by the method of Problem Based learning between students who have the academic potential ability high and low.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) Develop a work-based learning-based industrial practicum platform; (2) Know the feasibility of a work-based learning-based industrial practicum platform; and (3) Know whether there is an effectiveness of student learning with a work-based learning-based industrial practicum platform. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the Four-D model, and the research subjects are class C students as an experimental class with a total of 21 students and class B students as a control class with a total of 22 students. Data collection uses a questionnaire method to determine the feasibility of the media used for research and written test questions in the form of multiple choice with a total of 20 questions. The data analysis test used a normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. The research data showed that: (1) The procedure for developing practical learning media based on work-based learning includes the defining stage, planning stage, development stage, and dissemination stage; (2) Work-based learning media is feasible to use as a learning media in light vehicle electrical maintenance subjects. This can be proven from the validation results of media expert lecturers who showed 82.50% of the score indicating valid criteria. Validation by material expert lecturers showed 78.75% of the score obtained, indicating quite valid criteria; and (3) The t-test results (t-count = 6.021 and p = 0.000) prove that the work-based learning-based practicum platform made is effective for improving student learning outcomes. This is shown through the response of trial students, which includes small group trials, obtaining 77%, which includes five students, and large group trials, obtaining 80.50%, which includes 15 students. The normality test obtained p = 0.059 in the control class and p = 0.115 in the experimental class because p> 0.05 indicates that both groups are normally distributed. Through the homogeneity test, F count = 0.762 with p = 0.388 because p > 0.05, the two groups have homogeneous variants. Thus, the industrial platform practice based on work-based learning can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Riding safety is a key issue in efforts to reduce traffic accident rates. This issue is evident among the residents of Kaliurip Village, where the majority rely on motorcycles as their primary mode of transportation. Observations and coordination with the village government revealed that residents still lack sufficient understanding regarding the importance of periodic vehicle inspections, the use of safety gear, and the practice of orderly traffic behavior. Therefore, this Community Service (PkM) initiative aims to enhance residents' knowledge, awareness, and behavior through a "Safety riding" seminar combined with free vehicle servicing, serving as a form of community empowerment rooted in vocational education. The implementation utilized an Active Community Participation (PAM) approach, engaging residents as active partners throughout the process from problem identification, planning, and execution to program evaluation. Activities included field observations, coordination with the village government, focus group discussions, outreach, safety riding seminars, vehicle inspection demonstrations, free vehicle servicing, and monitoring and evaluation. A participatory approach was selected to boost community engagement and ensure the program's sustainability. The results indicate a highly positive response from the community toward the entire program series. The Safety riding seminar improved residents' understanding of the importance of safety gear, traffic regulation compliance, safe riding techniques, and pre-ride vehicle checks. The free vehicle servicing provided direct benefits through vehicle condition assessments and technical consultations on maintenance. The involvement of the village government, community leaders, students, and lecturers demonstrated the formation of a partnership that supports the program's sustainability.

Abstract

The use of interactive digital learning media in elementary schools is still not optimal, so learning tends to take place conventionally and does not create a fun learning atmosphere. This condition is also found among teachers at Muhammadiyah Elementary School in Purworejo, who still have limitations in understanding the concept of fun learning and utilizing game-based learning platforms. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' knowledge and skills in implementing Educaplay as a support for fun learning. The methods used include needs observation, socialization, training, demonstrations, direct practice, mentoring, and evaluation using questionnaires before and after the activity. The activity was attended by nine teachers at Muhammadiyah Elementary School in Purworejo. The results of the activity showed an increase in teacher competency across all measured indicators. The average understanding of the concept of fun learning increased from 1.56 to 3.78, understanding of the function of Educaplay as an interactive learning medium reached an average of 3.67, the ability to create interactive quizzes increased from 1.78 to 3.89, insight into digital learning media increased to 3.78, while ease of understanding the material obtained an average of 3.83. All indicators were in the very good category after the implementation of the activity. Thus, the socialization and training of Educaplay implementation has proven effective in improving teacher competence in developing interactive digital learning media, thereby supporting the creation of fun, innovative, and student-centered learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of a deep learning–based assessment system in vocational education, focusing on its implementation at SMK Negeri 8 Purworejo. To build a strong evidence base, the research first conducted a meta-analysis of earlier studies on automated deep learning assessment systems, selecting only those that used deep learning for performance-based evaluation, reported measurable accuracy or efficiency outcomes, and aligned with vocational or practical task contexts. The empirical phase tested a prototype system designed for productive Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) subjects, particularly for evaluating engine tune-up, component inspection, and basic troubleshooting practices. The system utilized video and image-based deep learning models to analyze student performance during hands-on activities. Data were collected from learning outcome documents, teacher interviews, student perception questionnaires, and observations of assessment duration. The results show that the deep learning–based system improves scoring precision, shortens evaluation time, and is positively received by both teachers and students. These practical gains support the meta-analytic findings and highlight the system’s potential to automate aspects of vocational assessment that were previously difficult to evaluate objectively. The study’s contribution lies in combining meta-analysis with real classroom implementation, offering a meaningful step toward AI-driven adaptive assessment in vocational education.

Abstract

As a vocational automotive teacher from SMK Muhammadiyah Larangan, the authors often find chapter trials of Grade XI students (TKR) they have had trouble memorizing the correct sequence of stages tuning?motors for eg 2010 Toyota Avanza EFI engine, especially in determining the function TPS, MAP and IACV. A single live example from the teacher is often not enough: students?might miss some crucial part of it while taking notes, or be too shy to ask questions when they don’t understand something. To address this problem, the researcher used a classroom action research with 12 minute video?instructional media using smartphone creations and Avanza engine 2010 in school. Sixty Grade XI TKR students were selected for this study, divided into an Experimental Group (video learning method) and a Control Group (traditional demonstration method). The results showed: Mean of Experimental group: 85.0, average of the control group : 67.3. A total of 83.3% of the experimental group received marks for the category of Excellent, while the control group received 0%. The result of the independent t-test showed that there is a significant difference between the means of the two groups, since t(58) = 8.21 The aforementioned findings prove the effect of the use of cheap instructional videos prepared by lecturers to address the issue of resource equality for better access to independent learning for the students, which lies squarely within the principle of autonomy of the students under the Merdeka Curriculum of Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in Light Vehicle Engine Maintenance (PMKR) subject on the topic of Gasoline Fuel System through the implementation of the cooperative Jigsaw learning model in Class XI TKRO at SMK Ma’arif 3 Wates. This research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design consisting of two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 14 students. Data were collected through written tests and learning implementation observation sheets. The results showed that the average score increased from 55.36 (pre-cycle) to 73.57 (Cycle I) and 84.64 (Cycle II), while the classical completeness rate rose from 14.29% to 57.14% and finally 85.71%. The N-Gain values of 0.41 (Cycle I) and 0.44 (Cycle II) both fall in the moderate category. These findings confirm that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model effectively and consistently improves student learning outcomes in the PMKR subject on Gasoline Fuel System material.
