Abstract

Kemampuan Penalaran Matematis (KPM) merupakan kemampuan yang penting untuk dimiliki peserta didik dalam pembelajaran matematika. Akan tetapi KPM peserta didik masih dalam kategori rendah dikarenakan kurangnya instrumen tes yang dapat digunakan guru sebagai referensi dalam melatihkan soal tes yang dapat melatih KPM peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes KPM pada materi barisan dan deret yang valid, reliabel, serta memiliki tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda yang baik. Jenis penelitian adalah model pengembangan tipe development studies yang terdiri dari tahap preliminary dan formative evaluation. Tahap formative eveluation mengadaptasi langkah Tessmer yakni self evaluation, experts review, one-to-one, small group, dan field test. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif yang menggambarkan setiap pengolahan data yang terkumpul dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar validasi, lembar respon peserta didik, dan lembar tes KPM. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 peserta didik kelas XI MS 2 SMAN Plus Provinsi Riau. Data diperoleh dari hasil validasi tiga orang validator dan uji coba soal tes KPM kepada subjek penelitian pada tahap field test. Skor rata-rata validasi internal adalah 97,67% dengan kategori sangat valid. Dari 15 butir soal yang valid secara internal, dilakukan uji coba diperoleh 13 butir soal yang valid secara eksternal, nilai reliabilitas 0,86 kategori sangat tinggi, 8 butir soal sedang dan 5 butir soal sukar, serta 6 soal dengan daya pembeda cukup, 5 soal dengan daya pembeda baik, dan 2 soal dengan daya pembeda sangat baik. Maka diperoleh 13 soal KPM dengan yang valid, reliabel, serta memiliki tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda yang baik.

Abstract

This research aims to develop student worksheets for eighth-grade mathematics, focusing on the topics of Relations and Functions, using a Problem-Based Learning approach. The development process followed the 4D model, which includes the stages of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The research instruments used were validation sheets and student questionnaires. After the preparation stage, the worksheets were evaluated by three validators and revised based on the feedback received. Data analysis showed an average validation score of 89.12%, indicating a very high level of validity. Subsequently, the validated worksheets were tested on a small group of students, resulting in a practicality score of 80.28%, which is classified as very practical. This research successfully produced valid and practical worksheets for eighth-grade mathematics, particularly in the topics of relations and functions.

Abstract

This study addresses the low mathematics achievement levels among students in class VIII.2 at SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru during the 2023/2024 academic year. The research aims to enhance the learning process and improve mathematics achievement by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This study employs Classroom Action Research to identify problems and implement targeted actions to resolve them. The subjects comprised 19 male students and 20 female students with heterogeneous ability levels. The research instruments included the Flow of Learning Objectives, Teaching Modules with attached Student Worksheets, Diagnostic Assessments, Formative Assessments, and Summative Assessments. Observation sheets and learning outcome tests were used for data collection. The results indicate significant improvements in the learning process across cycles, as demonstrated by increased mathematics achievement. The number of students meeting the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria rose from 17 students (43.59%) in Cycle I to 25 students (64.10%) and further to 29 students (74.36%) in Cycle II. The study concludes that the application of the PBL model effectively improved both the learning process and mathematics achievement in class VIII.2 at SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru during the 2023/2024 academic year, particularly on the topic of the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning process and students' mathematical problem-solving skills through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The research employed a classroom action research design, conducted over two cycles in collaboration with a mathematics teacher. The subjects were students of class IX B at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota during the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Research instruments included mathematical learning tools (syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets) and data collection tools (observation sheets and mathematical problem-solving tests). Data analysis combined qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive statistical analysis. The results indicate that the implementation of PBL improved both the learning process and students' mathematical problem-solving skills. The average N-gain score increased from 0.42 (medium classification) in cycle I to 0.72 (high classification) in cycle II. Furthermore, the students' average score improved from 63.44 in cycle I to 84.56 in cycle II. These findings conclude that the Problem-Based Learning model effectively enhances the learning process and mathematical problem-solving skills of class IX B students at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively in mathematics is a crucial aspect of learning, yet evidence shows that students' creative mathematical thinking skills, particularly in the topic of Sequences and Series, remain low. One solution to address this issue is through the use of Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based Student Worksheets. This research aims to develop a valid and practical Student Worksheet. The study follows the 4D development model, consisting of the stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instruments used for data collection were validation sheets and practicality questionnaires. Analysis of the validation sheet data showed that the Student Worksheet was categorized as highly valid, with an average percentage of 93.73%. Similarly, the practicality questionnaire analysis indicated that the Student Worksheet was rated as practical, with an average percentage of 83.77%. Therefore, the developed Student Worksheet meets the criteria of validity and practicality and can be used effectively in learning activities. The implication of this research is that it allows students to independently build knowledge in mathematics, facilitating their creative mathematical thinking skills.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan media berbasis ICT menghadirkan pembelajaran kontekstual belum optimal oleh guru. Salah satu penyebabnya terbatasnya kemampuan mendesain konteks nyata sebagai objek. Guru menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional karena belum mampu menghadirkan pembelajaran kontekstual walaupun mereka mampu menggunakan alat komunikasi yang canggih. Observasi menunjukkan bahwa 100% guru SD kelas 1 di Kab Siak sudah menggunakan alat komunikasi canggih, namun hanya 13,6% yang mampu memanfaatkannya untuk mendesain media pembelajaran ICT. Rasional ini mendasari kami TIM PKM Prodi Pendidikan Matematika bekerjasama dengan Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kab.Siak menyelenggarakan workshop pemberdayaan guru SD kelas I mengembangkan media pembelajaran ICT. Data pengabdian adalah respon pelaksanaan PKM yang dikumpulkan melalui angket dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh: (1) sebanyak 80% peserta menyatakan materi workshop sesuai kebutuhan dalam pengembangan media ICT; (2) 76% menyatakan kegiatan workshop memberikan penguatan dan wawasan dalam pengembangkan media ICT; dan (3) 76% menyatakan kegiatan workshop memberikan pengalaman baru dalam pengembangan media ICT.

Abstract

There is no electronic worksheet that can help students to optimize their mathematical creative thinking skills in the Integral Integration technique of rational functions with the denominator is a linear factor being the background for this research. This research aims to produce an e-worksheet that can be used in integral calculus courses, especially material for Integral Integration techniques of rational functions with the denominators being linear factors, and can improve the ability to think creatively mathematically. The research was conducted using the ADDIE development model. The research subjects were 15 students of Mathematics Education at the University of Riau. Data collection instruments used questionnaires and tests with quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. From the calculation of the validation score, overall, the e-worksheet is valid and can be used by Mathematics Education students in Integral Calculus courses. Based on the results of the second student response questionnaire, the e-worksheet met the practical criteria with the achievement of e-worksheet 1 of 83.33% and e-worksheet 2 of 76.3%. From the results of the worksheet effectiveness test, there has been an increase in students' mathematical creative thinking ability after using e-worksheet from 2.73 to 7.6 and is in the medium category. Referring to the results of this study means that the developed e-worksheet is feasible to use and can improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian melaksanakan perbaikan proses pembelajaran dan peningkata hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMP IT Al Fikri IGS untuk mata pelajaran matematika. Terdapat dua siklus penelitian tindakan kelas ini. Sejumlah 27 siswa kelas VII SMP IT Al Fikri IGS dijadikan sebagai subjek penelitian ini. Data dihimpun lewat lembar pengamatan dan tes hasil belajar matematika. Penelitian didapatkan hasil yaitu ada perbaikan proses dan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII SMP IT Al Fikri IGS pada materi pelajaran garis dan sudut juga cenderung lebih baik. Ada peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa UH I berskor 44,44% ke UH II berskor 74,07%. Diterapkannya model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT bisa membuat hasil belajar matematika lebih baik dan memperbaiki proses pembelajaran siswa kelas VII SMP IT Al Fikri IGS pada materi pelajaran garis dan sudut.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (KPMM) peserta didik rendah, sedangkan KPMM penting dikuasai peserta didik dalam belajar matematika. Maka sebab itu, tujuan pelaksanaan penelitian ini adalah  menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel untuk memfasilitasi KPMM peserta didik kelas VIII SMP. Dalam uji coba penelitian melibatkan subjek dengan total 9 orang peserta didik SMPN 1 Gunung Sahilan kelas VIII A. Dalam pengumpulan data, instrumen yang dibutuhkan terbagi atas instrumen kevalidan dan instrumen kepraktisan dengan memanfaatkan teknik wawancara, observasi, uji kevalidan perangkat pembelajaran dan uji coba LKPD. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran tergolong sangat valid dengan rataan silabus yaitu 3,91; rataan RPP yaitu 3,89; dan rataan LKPD 3,70. Sementara itu, LKPD juga tergolong sangat praktis dalam uji coba kelompok kecil dengan rataan 3,84 dan dalam uji coba kelompok besar dengan rataan 3,73. Dengan demikian, LKPD yang dihasilkan sudah mencapai persyaratan valid dan praktis.

Abstract

The learning process in the classroom can be a trigger for low Mathematical Literacy Ability (KLM) of students so that improving the learning process and increasing students' KLM through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is the purpose of this study. The research conducted was Classroom Action Research with two cycles on 35 students of class VIII-3 SMP Negeri 5 Pekanbaru. Data acquisition through learning device instruments (teaching modules equipped with teaching materials, LKPD, Remedial and Enrichment) and data collection instruments (observation sheets and student KLM test devices). The CAR cycle process was carried out in two cycles, covering four stages (planning, action, observation, and reflection) showing an increase in the average score of students' KLM from 54.46 in cycle I to 74.06 in cycle II. These results indicate that through the application of PBL, it can improve the learning process and increase the KLM of students VIII-3 SMP Negeri 5 Pekanbaru.
