Abstract

The objectives of this study are to analyze the use of good and correct Indonesian in PT Ira Trans Medan Transportation Services in 2024 and to analyze the main factors that cause errors in the use of Indonesian by drivers, conductors, and passengers at PT Ira Trans Medan in 2024. The research method used in this study is qualitative. This study highlights the importance of policies that support the use of Indonesians according to rules in public spaces. Practical implications for PT Ira Trans: Improve training and improve communication media and for the government: Tighten language control in public spaces. The conclusions are that the use of Indonesian in PT Ira Trans Medan is often not in accordance with the rules; factors causing errors include lack of knowledge and indifference to language rules, and company policy has not paid special attention to the use of Indonesian in public spaces

Abstract

Model Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) memberikan siswa permasalahan yang dapat ditemukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penggunaan model RME dinilai tepat untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika di kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar karena siswa kelas 5 sedang dalam fase mengembangkan kemampuan berpikirnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Berbasis Etnomatematika terhadap Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Siswa Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian one group design pre-test and post-test dengan jenis eksperimen menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Partisipan penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V MIN 8 Medan Petisah yang berjumlah 25 orang. Data yang dianalisis adalah data kuantitatif yang mengukur kemampuan akhir siswa yang diperoleh dari skor pretest, posttest, dan peningkatan penguasaan konsep (N-Gain). Lokasi penelitian di MIN 8 Medan Petisah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang diperoleh dari pelaksanaan pretest dan posttest pada 25 orang peserta didik kelas V MIN 8 Medan Petisah, terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik yang signifikan setelah dilaksanakannya model pembelajaran RME berbasis etnomatematika. Pada tahap pretest, hanya 5 orang peserta didik (20%) yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) 70, sedangkan 20 orang peserta didik (80%) belum mencapai ketuntasan. Nilai rata- rata peserta didik mengalami peningkatan dari 52,28 pada saat pretest menjadi 77,12 pada saat posttest, dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 20% menjadi 84%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pelaksanaan model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) berbasis etnomatematika terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik di SD MIN 8 Medan Petisah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan skor rata-rata siswa dari 52,28 pada pretes menjadi 77,12 pada postes, serta persentase ketuntasan belajar yang meningkat dari 20% menjadi 84%. Model RME berbasis etnomatematika terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan hasil belajar matematika siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between reading habits and the ability to write in English.The tests were pre-test and post-test. To analyze the qualitative data, the researcher used interactive data analysis models. For the quantitative data, the researcher analyzed the mean scores of the tests to compare differences between pre-test and post-test. The results of the research show that teaching writing skills by using pictures could improve the students' writing skills and the class condition.The method used in this study is a descriptive method with correlation analysis techniques. The population of this study was all V grade students of SDIT Bunayya Tangerang academic year 2021-2022, totaling 23 students who were used as samples. The instruments used in data collection are questionnaires, objective tests and essay tests. Questionnaires are used to get data about students' reading habits, objective tests are used to get data about creative thinking skills and essay tests are used to get data about the ability to write in English subject of students.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a system that is developed and continues to innovate in various fields with the aim of making human work easier. As the name suggests, artificial intelligence is made to resemble human intelligence and is applied in various fields. Currently Artificial Intelligence technology is also used in the field of education, including teaching foreign languages. This article, which is based on a short field study, aims to find out student references regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in English Language Teaching (ELT) can be seen as both a benefit and a potential threat, depending on how it is used and implemented. On the one hand, AI technology has the potential to make language learning more efficient and effective, by providing personalized feedback and practice exercises tailored to the different student’s needs and learning styles. The research method used to determine this phenomenon is a qualitative descriptive research method with questionnaire data collection techniques by asking questions that can be answered directly by respondents according to their respective answers. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to play an important role in helping students in various tasks in learning English, i.e finding out the the meaning and definition of words, translating sentences, improving grammar, etc with reliable and timely results. However, on the other hand, AI has an impact on student abilities. Students are increasingly dependent on AI assistance in learning, thereby reducing its role in critical thinking and using memory

Abstract

This research is intended to analyze about the speech act associated with the fundamental kinship relation in Karo society. The fundamental kinship relation in Karo society is concerned with the Metenget “alertful or paying great attention”, Metami “loving, giving soft words, flattery” and Mehamat “loyal, respectful, honour”. All of these three words must be expressed through words or speech. The method of research is done by using library research or by taking some references from the articles and books. The analysis of this research is found that the speech act which are divided into three, such as locutionary act, illocutionary act and perlocutionary act are utilized in the three fundamental kinship relations. It is not only in the party, but also every where while they are meeting together between anak beru “sisters or her husband”, senina “brothers or the same clan” and kalimbubu “mother’s brother and his wife”. The conclusion is that the types of the speech acts, such as locutionary act, illocutionary act and perlocutionary act are very important in the implementation of the three fundamental kinship relations like metenget, metami and mehamat.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe local wisdom of marsialapari, a mutual assistance activity in the Angkola Mandailing community, represents a form of local wisdom that remains prevalent today. This study aims to examine the values embedded in the local wisdom of marsialapari and its relevance to character education for the Angkola Mandailing community. The research employs a research and development method. The findings reveal that marsialapari as local wisdom is a mutual assistance activity that characterizes the Angkola Mandailing community as an expression of the philosophy of holong (compassion) and domu (togetherness) within the framework of local wisdom encapsulated in dalihan na tolu. The tradition of marsialapari in the Angkola Mandailing community is closely linked to the development of national character in Indonesia, which is founded on noble principles such as solidarity, the spirit of mutual cooperation, ethics, religiosity, and respect for diversity. These principles have the potential to create a generation that is moral, high-integrity, and of high quality, a tradition that remains well-maintained and practiced to this day. Abstract

This research focuses on the design of developing advertising materials tailored to various learning styles among grade nine students at SMP N 2 Perbaungan, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Recognising the diversity in learning preferences of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic students, this research aims to create Advertising materials using Canva's PowerPoint (PPT) to effectively address and engage various learning styles are more effectively. This research follows a research and development (R&D) methodology, using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to design the materials. Through analysis, students' predominantly visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles can be identified to guide the material development process. The resulting materials are intended to be visually appealing, interactive, and flexible, which improves comprehension and retention. Data collected through student feedback, teacher evaluations, and pre- and post-assessment scores indicate that the customised materials have a positive impact on students' engagement and understanding of advertising concepts to enhance the learning experience and accommodate individual needs in a classroom setting.The results of the validator test of the overall media design meet the eligibility criteria (88.9%) so that the teaching materials can be used as teaching materials for students in the learning process. The results of the assessment of English teaching materials by experts regarding the substance of the material as a whole from the aspects assessed get the eligibility criteria (87.5%) so that the teaching materials can be used in the learning process. and the trial results show the average student score of 81. 18% so that the criteria for effective teaching materials for different learning styles of students by using advertisements on writing skills in class IX SMPN 2 Perbaungan. research and development, implementation and evaluation) The instruments used are questionnaires to students, interviews to teachers, and the results of the last trial given to students.

Abstract

This research arises from an awareness of the crucial role education plays in shaping individuals capable of leading better lives and achieving their life goals in alignment with their true purpose. Education is expected to cultivate a generation that excels, can adapt to rapid technological advancements, and enhances learning outcomesparticularly in conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and creativity. The aim of this study is to explore and evaluate the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving student learning outcomes at SDN 064034, as a measure of the success of the educational process. However, observations in the field indicate that many students have yet to achieve optimal learning outcomes, largely due to unengaging teaching methods and limited student involvement. As a response, project-based learning is introduced as a strategy to foster active student participation and nurture creativity. Creativity itself is a vital component of both education and modern life, as creative individuals are key to navigating challenges and continuous environmental change.

Abstract

As the aim of learning Indonesian at school is to develop students' language skills, both orally and in writing. Students are expected to have language skills, because language plays an important role in human life, especially in Indonesian subjects. The purpose of this research is to develop students' writing skills with bestie journal media. The method used in this research is development research. This research was conducted in class IV of Tahfidz Aulia Private Elementary School starting in January 2023. The samples used were 22 class IV Abu Bakar Ash Siddiq students and 16 class IV Umar Bin Khattab students. The instruments used in this study were media validation sheets, observation sheets on the implementation of the learning process, and assessment sheets for students' writing skills. This research is said to be successful if there is an increase in the value of students' writing skills. Based on the results of the analysis carried out in this study, it can be stated that the development of bestie journal media to improve the writing skills of fourth-grade elementary school students were declared successful by making improvements to the learning process plan, implementing the learning process and providing support to students in the form of learning motivation. The success of this study was demonstrated by the mastery of student learning in cycle II where there were 70% of students scored more than 75 which was indicated by an average value of 78.22 and a standard deviation of 3.45 which previously only had an average value of 65. 27 and a standard deviation of 3.575 with completeness in the first cycle of 63.63%.

Abstract

Universitas Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah merupakan salah satu universitas swasta di kota Medan. Salah satu mata kuliah mahasiswa  semester 3 di prodi ini adalah penulisan karya ilmiah. Dalam hal penulisan karya ilmiah kebanyakan para mahasiswa tersbut mengalami kesulitan khususnya penulisan karya ilmiah berbahasa Inggris. Tim pengabdi melakukan sosialisasi kepada mahassiswa semester 3 prodi Agrobisnis dalam hal pelatihan tata tulis karya ilmiah berbahasa Inggris. Karya tulis merupakan uraian atau laporan tentang kegiatan, temuan atau informasi yang berasal dari data primer dan atau data sekunder yang disajikan untuk tujuan tertentu. Informasi tersebut dapat berasal dari data primer, yaitu didapatkan dan dikumpulkan langsung dan belum diolah dari sumbernya, seperti melalui pengujian (tes), kuisioner, wawancara, pengamatan (observasi). Semua kriteria dalam penulisan karya ilmiah ini diajarkan dalam bentuk bahasa Inggris. Hasil yang diperoleh pada kegiatan pengadian ini yaitu mahasiswa lebih memahami tentang penulisan karya ilmiah khususnya dalam bentuk bahasa Inggris. Selain itu mahasiswa mendapatkan kosakata baru dalam bentuk bahasa Inggris yang mendukung mahasiswa dalam penulisan tata tulis karya ilmiah.
