This research aims was to determine (1) the students’ ability in writing persuasive text and (2) to find out what factors affect students' ability to write persuasive text. This research is descriptive qualitative. In this research the sample was taken by means of cluster random sampling as many as 25 students. Data were collected through tests in the form of persuasive texts written by students and then through analytical procedures according to the rubric of assessment aspects and through non-test, namely questionnaire. Then the data collected will be presented in the form of a description. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the students' ability in writing persuasive text is good (capable). It is proven that the average value obtained reaches 79.5 and the number of students who are less able to write persuasive text well and get a score below the KKM is 24% of students. This means that students who have been able to reach the KKM are 76% of students with good interpretations.

Abstract This research was intended to find out the correlation between students’ ability in grammar and vocabulary with students’ writing paragraph achievements. There was a correlation between students’ ability in grammar and vocabulary with students’ writing paragraph achievements. From the calculation above it found that tobserved = 5.754whereas the ttable Keyword: grammar ability, vocabulary ability. Writing paragraph achievement = 2.009. It shows that correlation between students’ ability in grammar and vocabulary with students’ writing paragraph achievements was significant at 0.05. From the result, the researcher found that there was correlation of the students’ ability in grammar and vocabulary with students’ writing paragraph achievements. This means that the correlation of the students’ ability in grammar and vocabulary with students’ writing paragraph achievements.

This study aims to obtain data on improving English reading comprehension skills through the SQ4R method for class X students. The research subjects were students in class X.in the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. This research was carried out using the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart carried out with the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study using the SQ4R method showed that the data obtained from the evaluation test of reading comprehension of students who scored 75 in the first cycle was 55.55% and in the second cycle it was 83.33%. While the monitoring of teacher and student activities in the first cycle of the first meeting was 55% and the second meeting was 70%, while the second cycle of the first meeting was 85% and the second meeting was 90%. Thus, reading comprehension using the SQ4R method can improve students' reading comprehension skills in class X

The objective of the research was to improve the students’ reading achievement of grade X students at SMKN 1 Beringin academic year 2018-2019 by using the lecturing technique. The researcher used the experimental research. The population of the research was grade of students X TKJ1 and X TKJ2, and two classes were chosen as sample of the research in which there were 32 students for experimental class, and 32 students for control group. The actions implemented in this research were using lecturing technique, giving more explanation in English, making use of the LCD projector optimally, and providing activities that enabled the students to improve reading achievement. The research results of the resesarch showed that the use of lecturing technique in the English teaching and learning process was effective to improve the students’ reading achievement. There was an increase in the means score from 8.43 in pre-test to 25.31 in the post-test. There were some good improvements in some aspects such as their familiarity in reading descriptive texts in English. Also, they become actively participating in discussions during the teaching and learning process. They were more aware of mistakes due to correction from other students. In addition, this technique successfully attracted the attention of students. In short, they understood comprehensively the purpose of the text that had been given.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether questioning technique and critical thinking can help improve reading comprehension ability in students enrolled in XII Grade Mathematics and XII Grade Science. The study used a quasi-experimental design in which a control group was pre-tested and a post-test group was tested. This study looks at the students of State Senior High School 13 Medan. The research sample used to determine the results of the experiment was chosen from among the students in the class, with a random selection being made from each group. The data analysis used in this study is an indication of the intelligence of the participants. The Mann-Whitney test is used as a method for testing hypotheses. The study found that questioning techniques and critical thinking help improve students’ reading comprehension skills. The effectiveness of students' critical thinking skills is higher in the experimental class who use the effective questioning technique in Unit XII MIA 1 than in the control class in Unit XII MIS 1.

The objective of the research was to find out whether there is a significant effect of using mobile legend game media on student achievement in vocabulary mastery. This type of research is quantitative research and was conducted using two classes as research samples, namely class VIII-A as an experimental class consisting of 31 students and class VIII-C as a control class consisting of 31 students. In technique of collecting data, the researcher conducted pre-test, treatment and post-test by giving an understanding test of vocabulary consisting of 20 test, namely 10 true or false questions and 10 matching questions. The result of this research show that there was a significant effect of using mobile legend game media on students' vocabulary mastery. It can be seen after calculating and analyzing the t-table df 60 (n+n-2 = 31+31-2) at t-critical 0.05, it is obtained 1.67. If compared the value of to and tt, so it shows that the value of t-observed is bigger than the value of t-table or 2,56> 1,67. It means that class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 17 Desa Pon apply mobile legend game media in vocabulary learning higher than without mobile legend game media. After testing the hypothesis of the research, it was found that the hypothesis was accepted.

As the aim of learning Indonesian at school is to develop students' language skills, both orally and in writing. Students are expected to have language skills, because language plays an important role in human life, especially in Indonesian subjects. The purpose of this research is to develop students' writing skills with bestie journal media. The method used in this research is development research. This research was conducted in class IV of Tahfidz Aulia Private Elementary School starting in January 2023. The samples used were 22 class IV Abu Bakar Ash Siddiq students and 16 class IV Umar Bin Khattab students. The instruments used in this study were media validation sheets, observation sheets on the implementation of the learning process, and assessment sheets for students' writing skills. This research is said to be successful if there is an increase in the value of students' writing skills. Based on the results of the analysis carried out in this study, it can be stated that the development of bestie journal media to improve the writing skills of fourth-grade elementary school students were declared successful by making improvements to the learning process plan, implementing the learning process and providing support to students in the form of learning motivation. The success of this study was demonstrated by the mastery of student learning in cycle II where there were 70% of students scored more than 75 which was indicated by an average value of 78.22 and a standard deviation of 3.45 which previously only had an average value of 65. 27 and a standard deviation of 3.575 with completeness in the first cycle of 63.63%.

This study aims to determine the development, validity and effectiveness of the development of Writing Paragraph Materials By Using Argumentative Text at The Eight Grade Student's of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negri 4 Mandailing Natal. This research is a research and development (R&D) using the Sugiyono model. The instrument used is a questionnaire for expert lecturers and students, interviews with teachers, and the results of the last test given to students. The test results from the validator through media design aspects of 100% in the very good category and 90.83% from material experts I and II in the very good category, so this product was declared worthy of being used as learning so that students were more active in participating in learning.And the test results show that the average value of students gets an average of 61.76% so that they get the effective criteria. The effectiveness of the product can be seen from the results. Based on the results, the student response when using the product was very good. The results of the responses of students who answered "yes" were 81% and students who answered "no" were 19%. So the students' responses by answering "yes" were more than those who answered "no", so they could be categorized very well.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan, validitas dan keefektifan materi Mengembangkan pemahaman bacaan dengan menggunakan Alat Peraga di SMP IT Al Fajar Tanjung Morawa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dosen ahli dan mahasiswa, wawancara dengan dosen, dan hasil tes akhir yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa. Hasil pengujian dari validator melalui perancangan media secara keseluruhan mendapatkan kriteria sangat layak (88,9%) sehingga bahan ajar dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar bagi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil penilaian Bahan Ajar Bahasa Inggris oleh para ahli terhadap substansi materi secara keseluruhan dari aspek-aspek yang dinilai telah mendapat kriteria layak (87,5%) sehingga Bahan Ajar tersebut dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Dan hasil tes menunjukkan nilai rata-rata siswa dengan skor 81,18% sehingga mendapatkan kriteria efektif.
