Abstract

Children with intellectual disability have a slow social development. Such as the interpersonal aspects of intelligence. The learning approach that can be used is Beyond Centers And Circle Time (BCCT) approach. The purpose is to describe interpersonal intelligence before and after being given the treatment as well as analyze the effect of the approach Beyond Centers And Circle Time approach interpersonal intelligence intellectual disability. The method used was Quasi-Experiment with Time Series Design and analysis with Wilcoxon test hypothesis. Based on the data analysis, It can be concluded that the BCCT approach effect significantly for the interpersonal intelligence of the students with intellectual disability.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to produce the crocheting teaching material that fit the characteristics and needs of students with hearing impairment. This research used Borg & Gall (1983) development research design. The result of material expert validation data analysis shows that mean value 71%, 94% of learning expert, 93% of media expert, and 100% of linguist. The result of performance test analysis on three students with hearing impairment shows effectiveness value 64.96. Based on expert validation data and students performance test result analysis, it can be concluded that teaching material is valid and effective to be used as reference in crocheting learning activities

Abstract

This study aims to assess influence the using animal car media on the ability of students with mild mental retardation to write the simple sentence. The study use a qualitative method by an experiment one group pretest-postest design. The data were analized by Wilcoxon signed ranks test. The result show that using animal card media have a significant influence to increasec the ability of students with mild mental retardatio to write the simple sentence.

Abstract

From adults’ learning perspectives, parenting children with intellectual disabilities is considered a social reality interestingly researched, particularly related to the challenges and experiences during the parenting process encountered by parents who lack knowledge and understanding of intellectual disabilities. This research aims to (1) describe the configuration of parenting challenges in-depth and (2) explore the subjective-educative experiences derived from the challenges. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The data was derived from in-depth interviews with parents of children with moderate intellectual disability. The data were analyzed following the stages of the phenomenological method consisting of (1) description, (2) reduction, and (3) discovery of the main structure of meaning. The results show that (1) The challenges of the parenting process of children with intellectual disability require a high level of competence, encompassing both knowledge and technical parenting and psychological aspects, and (2) Various challenges in parenting children with disability lead to diverse subjective and educative experiences for parents. Based on the findings, this research recommends that parents continually improve parenting practices for children with intellectual disability by adhering to educational principles.
