Abstract

This study aims: (1) To determine the needs analysis of digital literacy-based learning media in grade V SDN 34 Bara Palopo City. (2) To describe the process of developing digital-based learning media for reading comprehension learning on theme 6 in grade V SDN 34 Bara Palopo City. (3) To determine the feasibility and practicality of digital-based learning media for reading comprehension learning on theme 6 in grade V SDN 34 Bara Palopo City. The research conducted was of the R&D (Research and Development) type with the 4D development model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires to educators and students. The data obtained were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. This research produces digital literacy-based learning media in the form of digital storybooks and can be accessed using smartphones and laptops / PCs. validated by 3 experts, namely linguists with a value of 91% (very valid category), material experts with a value of 92% (very valid category), and media experts with a value of 86% (very valid category). For the practicality test, the results obtained from students were 84.43% and from educators were 100%, both of which met the very practical category. This shows that the product developed has a high level of validity, so the product developed by the researcher is suitable for learning activities at school. Researchers hope that the products developed can be used as alternative media used by teachers and students with the help of smartphones and laptops / PCs related to reading comprehension learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using audio-visual assisted digital alphabet typewriter media to improve the initial reading ability of grade 1 students at SDN 23 Batara. The type of research used in this research is Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The population of this study was all grade 1 students at SDN 23 Batara. The sample consisted of 26 people. The collected data was processed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of descriptive analysis, the average value (pretest) was 66.85 and the average value (posttest) was 90. Meanwhile, based on the results of inferential statistical analysis, t-test results were obtained with a significant value (2 tailed) <0.05, namely < 0.000 means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the application of audio-visual assisted digital alphabet typewriter media on the beginning reading ability of grade 1 students at SDN 23 Batara.

Abstract

This study examines pedagogical perspectives on viewing skills (keterampilan memirsa) in Indonesian language education through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of studies published between 2021 and 2024. Guided by the PRISMA 2020 protocol, sixteen empirical and conceptual articles were selected from major academic databases to analyze how viewing is conceptualized, taught, and integrated within the Kurikulum Merdeka framework. The findings reveal that viewing has shifted from a peripheral literacy component to a central pedagogical construct that supports multimodal, critical, and character-based learning. Across educational levels, viewing activities—such as video-based storytelling, interactive H5P modules, digital game-based learning, and multimodal text analysis—were shown to enhance students’ cognitive comprehension, affective engagement, and digital literacy. Teachers played a pivotal role as facilitators who scaffold interpretation, guide moral reflection, and design multimedia-rich learning environments. Despite these advancements, challenges remain in teacher preparedness, uneven technological access, and the absence of standardized assessment instruments. Overall, this review highlights the growing importance of viewing skills as a foundational element of multimodal literacy and offers pedagogical insights for strengthening curriculum design, instructional practice, and teacher development in Indonesian language learning.
