Abstract

Idris Sardi is known as a music maestro in Indonesia. This study aims to reveal the influence of Idris Sardi on the development of music and its implications in music education. This study uses a qualitative method with a narrative approach. The data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research informants were carefully selected from the family, violin students, and colleagues of Idris Sardi in Jakarta and Bogor, West Java. The data were analyzed by organizing data and creating codes, describing codes in chronological categories and themes, developing interpretations, and visualizing data. The results showed that Idris Sardi was influential in developing (1) keroncong music by varying the tempo and expanding the repertoire; (2) the violin playing techniques included unique characters such as vibrato, glissando, and octave variations; (3) ethnic and popular music were made through orchestrations and collaboration with orchestral music. The implications in music vocational education were (1) problem-based learning by creating a new keroncong style to be accepted by society; (2) the improvement capability by exploring skills to play the violin; (3) life-based-learning by raising local and popular music to be qualified while enhancing the level of society’s music appreciation. In conclusion, Idris Sardi provided a strong influence on the music development in Indonesia, and the implication could be a new strategy to improve the quality of music education.

Abstract

The job market has a strong influence on the preferences of new graduates. One of these phenomena occurred at the Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa Yogyakarta. Although the field occupied in this educational institution is pedagogic science, many graduates from this university are indifferent to the scientific family. This study aims to analyze the effect of work interest in Mechanical Engineering Education (MEE) industrial students on income, attention, willingness, family environment, and community environment. This study uses the ex-post-facto method. This study involved 82 students. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling with a questionnaire to collect data. The results showed that: (1) income expectations, attention, willingness, family environment, and community environment all had a positive and significant effect on interest in working in the industry; (2) income expectations have a positive and significant effect on job interest in the industry; (3) Attention has a positive and significant effect on interest in working in the industry, (4) willingness has a positive and significant effect on interest in working in the industry, (5) family environment has a positive and significant effect on interest in working in the industry, and (6) community environment has an effect positive and significant to work interest in the industry.

Abstract

As technology continues to evolve, the gap between those who have grown up with technology (digital natives) and those who have not (digital immigrants) continues to widen. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the comparison of students learning outcomes taught by two different groups of teachers from different generation (digital native and digital immigrant). The subjects of this research were 10th-grade students in the Department of Computer and Network Engineering at Vocational High School. The total of the research respondents were 60 students. This research was using a quantitative approach with a comparative method. The data collected was the form of a questionnaire and a summary of the scores in the last semester. The results of the independent sample t-test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.065 > 0.05, so the decision making in the Independent Sample t-test, concluded that the null hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) rejected. Ho is a hypothesis which states that there is no correlation or influence between variables and other variables, while Ha is a hypothesis which states that there is a correlation or influence between variables and other variables. Based on the research result, it means that there is no difference in learning outcomes between students taught by digital immigrant teacher and digital native teacher. This research proves that digital native teachers and digital immigrant teachers are equally qualified.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in vocational schools, Banten in terms of the readiness and quality of the learning tools that have been prepared. A total of 957 respondents from 2017 to 2018, consisting of four cities and three districts in Banten Province were involved in the training and mentoring program, namely vocational teachers and vice-principals in the curriculum field. Data were collected using questionnaire sheets, FGD notes, and observation check dates. The data obtained are analyzed and interpreted based on the specified categories. The results showed that: 1) Teacher readiness for learning tools in the components a) Core Competencies (CC) and Basic Competencies (BC) analysis of 45.31%, b) Program mapping of 38.37%, learning plan preparation of 39.45% and c) Learning evaluation of 36.78%; 2) The quality of lesson plan (LP) the science lesson plan analysis instrument (SLPAI) based is divided into two groups. The category "Quality" in the instructional program and instructional plan aspects, and the category "Moderate" in the instructional media and assessment and others aspects; and 3) The difficulty of learning device components, including authentic assessment, use of methods, literacy approaches, and lesson planning. The implementation of training, mentoring, and supervision programs are adjusted to the experience of vocational teachers taking into account the teacher's involvement in the implementation of the curriculum, age, and school readiness.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) wawasan kevokasionalan (pemahaman tentang SMK sebagai pendidikan dunia kerja (X1), pemahaman jenis-jenis program keahlian (X2), pemahaman dunia kerja (X3), layanan bimbingan konseling(X6)), lingkungan belajar (X4), Potensi daerah (X5), dan latar belakang sosial ekonomi orang tua (X7) siswa SMP kelas IX terhadap minat melanjutkan di SMK; (2) pengaruh wawasan kevokasionalan siswa SMP kelas IX  (pemahaman tentang SMK sebagai pendidikan dunia kerja (X1), pemahaman jenis-jenis program keahlian (X2), pemahaman duni kerja (X3), layanan bimbingan konseling(X6)), lingkungan belajar (X4), Potensi daerah (X5), dan latar belakang sosial ekonomi orang tua (X7) siswa SMP kelas IX terhadap minat (Y) melanjutkan di SMK. Penelitian merupakan penelitian survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif berjenis asosiasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) variabel X­1, X­2, X­3,X5,X­6cenderung mendekati kategori tinggi dengan nilai persentase secara berurutan 75%, 72,23%, 71,72%, 71,89%, 72,46%, dan variabel X4, X7 cenderung mendekati kategori rendah dengan nilai persentase secara berurutan 62,09%, 56,51%; (2) variabel X­1, X­2, X­3,X4, X­5,X­6, ­X7 ada pengaruh terhadap variabel Y dengan nilai koefisien korelasi secara berurutan 0.504, 0,590, 0,837, 0,178, 0,374, 0,706, 0,178 dan secara bersama-sama X1,X2,X3,X4,X5,X6,X7 terhadap Y ada pengaruh dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,767.

Abstract

This study aims at revealing the influence of: (1) teaching style towards textile learning outcomes, (2) learning styles towards textile learning outcomes, (3) the effect of from teaching style, learning style, and achievement motivation towards textile learning outcomes, (4) the significance of teaching style, learning style and, achievement motivation towards textile learning outcomes for individual or group. This research can be categorized as quantitative study with a correlational model. The data analysis used multiple regression analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that (1) there is a positive and significant influence of teaching style towards textile learning outcomes, (2) there is a positive and significant influence of learning styles towards textile learning outcomes, (3) there is a positive and significant influence from teaching style, learning style, and achievement motivation towards Textile learning outcomes, (4) the influence of teaching style, learning style and achievement motivation were 26.6% and the rest was coming from other factors.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan struktur, kultur, dan nilai-nilai luhur pendidikan karakter kejuruan pada SMK di Bali dalam praksis Ideologi Tri Hita Karana. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif etnografi dengan desain comprehension of the meaning of the action and text, dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Buleleng, Kabupaten Gianyar, Kabupaten Badung, dan Kotamadya Denpasar. Pembangkitan data menggunakan teknik: (1) interview kualitatif, (2) observasi partisipatif, (3) analisis dokumen, dan (4) analisis situs. Struktur pendidikan kejuruan di SMK di Bali karakternya sangat dipengaruhi oleh ideologi Tri Hita Karana. Kultur pendidikan kejuruan di SMK ada tiga yaitu budaya belajar, budaya bekerja, dan budaya melayani. Nilai-nilai luhur yang berkembang adalah nilai hidup bersama secara seimbang dan harmonis kepada Tuhan, terhadap sesama, dan terhadap lingkungan hidup. Abstract

This study aims to find out the praxis of project-based learning at PIKA Vocational Secondary School Semarang and to identify the advantages and disadvantages. The design of this research is a qualitative case study. The data collection techniques were in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The informants of this study were: principal, vice-principal, teachers, employees, and students. This study shows that: (1) there are two patterns of project-based learning at PIKA VSS Semarang. The first pattern is an internal internship program, and the second is learning a productive practice program. (2) The advantages of project-based learning are: (a) it trains the students’ sense of entrepreneurship; (b) it develops learning motivation; (c) it gives a complete, real and contextual learning experience; and (d) it develops the students’ hard skills and soft skills. The disadvantages of project-based learning are: (a) it requires the acquisition competencies to perform project assignments; (b) it takes times; (c) it requires high operational costs; (d) it requires adequate facilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemenuhan standar sarana dan prasarana praktik paket keahlian Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan (TKJ) di SMK Kabupaten Sukoharjo berdasarkan Permendiknas Nomor 40 tahun 2008. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi program dengan model evaluasi kesenjangan. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan analisis persentase. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah sarana dan prasarana praktik paket keahlian TKJ pada 16 SMK di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tingkat pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana pada area kerja teknik mekanik elektro belum memenuhi standar; (2) tingkat pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana pada ruang praktik instalasi jaringan belum memenuhi standar; (3) tingkat pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana pada area perbaikan dan perawatan komputer belum memenuhi standar; dan (4) tingkat pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana ruang penyimpanan dan instruktur belum memenuhi standar. This study was program evaluation using discrepancy evaluation model. The approach used was quantitative descriptive, with data analysis of the percentage. The objects of this study were the practice facilities and infrastructures of Computer Engineering and Network competence package of SMK in Sukoharjo Regency. The Data collection techniques used in this research were documentations, observations and interviews. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive statistics. The study result showed that: (1) the facilities infrastructures compliance level of electro mechanical engineering in work area did not meet the standards; (2) the facilities infrastructures compliance level of practice room did not meet the standards; (3) the facilities infrastructures compliance level of computer repair and treatment did not meet the standards; and (4) the facilities infrastructures compliance level of storage room and instructors’ room did not meet the standards

Abstract

This ethnography research aims to find the concepts and implementation in developing creative economic entrepreneur characters through sustainable development culture and stakeholder partnership in vocational high school (VHS). Research data were collected inductively through in-depth interviews, participant observation, documentation study, and internet site tracing based on research questions in the data generation manual. The data from the finding were interpreted deductively through coding process, and crystallization to produce informants shared cultural pattern and values, including (a) three sequences of life-based learning; (b) taksu’s entity of creative economy; (c) seven perspectives for developing entrepreneurial characters (SEMESTA); (d) catur guru’s essential enculturation for sustainable development and stakeholders partnership in vocational high school (VHS).
