Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the use of a decision support system called Fuzzy C-Means to group students based on their interests and aptitude. Fuzzy C-Means was used to group students into several alternative majors such as Catering (CT), Fashion Design (FD), Accounting and Institutional Finance (AIF), Online Business and Marketing (OBM), Multimedia (MM), Office Governance Automation (OGA), and Computer and Network Engineering (CNE). This study employed the quantitative approach with the pre-experimental research design. Data were collected through interest-aptitude tests and documentation. The participants of this study were 58 students of State Vocational High School Barabai 1. Fuzzy C-Means managed to group students into seven clusters. With the criteria of interests and talents, every student had the opportunity to be in all existing majors. The cluster validity value obtained using the Partition Coefficient Index is in the good category (0.6054). The system accuracy value is 89.7%. It means that there is an increase in the accuracy rate of 10.4% when compared to selecting majors manually. Based on cluster validation and the level of system accuracy, a decision support system using the Fuzzy C-Means algorithm is feasible to be an alternative for determining school majors.

Abstract

The challenges of socioeconomic loss due to the increasing number of unemployed persons, especially in rural areas, remain high. Tourist villages, comprising villagers' activities and local attractions in rural areas, are a potential source that can accommodate people to meet job needs. This study aims to define the roles, tasks, knowledge, skills, attributes, and functional areas of competence in tourist villages. The research was conducted in three tourist villages, namely Segajih, Jatimulyo, and Tinalah, in the Yogyakarta Special Region Province. The study employed a qualitative approach with research steps consisting of field observation, in-depth interviews, data generation, data analysis, and expert judgment. Data analysis refers to the Regional Model Competence Standard of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The results showed that tourist villages play a role and task for the people as a life-based learning approach. The implementation of these roles and tasks requires knowledge, skills, and attributes, representing the functional areas of competence. Tourist villages have the opportunity to create jobs for the people; however, the community expresses concerns about skills improvement, such as social and emotional skills, cognitive and metacognitive skills, basic digital skills, as well as green job skills.

Abstract

Peer Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that involves groups of students working together to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product. Simply putting students in groups and telling them to work together does not mean they know how to work cooperatively. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of peer lesson learning strategies on learning outcomes in building construction subjects and land measurement techniques, concrete characteristics specification material, in class X students majoring in modeling design and building information of SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. The study used quantitative research with experimental research type. The population amounted to 60 students; the research sample was taken by simple random sampling by taking two classes. Class X DPIB-A as the experimental class and class X DPIB-B as the control class. The instrument used to determine student learning outcomes is a multiple-choice test of 36 questions that have been tested for validity and reliability with point biseral correlation techniques. Data analysis used the t-test formula. The results showed that the average post-test score obtained from the experimental class was 75.35 with a high category of 73.33% and the control class was 61.46 with a sufficient category of 76.67%. From the results of the hypothesis testing analysis with a significance level of 5%, the post-test values of the two classes were calculated t_ count t_ table (6.27227 1.671) then Ha was accepted, so that a significant effect was obtained which showed that the learning outcomes of building construction and land measurement techniques were more effectively taught with peer lesson learning strategies than conventional learning models.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi: (1) kemajuan penulisan tesis; (2) kompetensi penulisan tesis; (3) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penulisan tesis; (4) faktor-faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi penulisan tesis; (5) tingkat kekreatifan capaian hasil tesis mahasiswa S2 Program Studi Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan (PTK). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian evaluasi formatif bersifat internal dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei hingga Oktober 2014. Responden penelitian mahasiswa S2 PTK angkatan 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 sebanyak 59 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket skala Likert dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemaju-an penulisan tesis termasuk kategori sangat baik. Kompetensi mahasiswa dalam penulisan tesis termasuk kategori sangat baik. Penulisan tesis dipengaruhi oleh faktor dalam dan luar kampus. Faktor-faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi penulisan tesis adalah ketersediaan waktu diskusi dengan dosen pembimbing, kemampuan menerapkan metode penelitian dan analisis data,  beban tugas di tempat kerja, kemampuan memahami literatur asing, dukungan dosen pembim-bing, proses administrasi Pascasarjana, motivasi cepat lulus, dukungan keluarga, dan beasiswa. Tingkat kekreatifan mahasiswa dalam penulisan tesis termasuk kategori sangat baik.Kata kunci: evaluasi, penulisan tesis, kompetensi mahasiswa, Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan______________________________________________________________EVALUATION OF THESIS WRITING COMPETENCE OF MASTER'S DEGREE STUDENTS ON VOCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAMAbstract This study aimed to evaluate: (1) the progress of writing a thesis; (2) the competence of writing a thesis; (3) factors that influence the writing of the thesis; (4) the dominant factors that influence the writing of the thesis; (5) creativity of students in writing a thesis. This study was an internal formative evaluation conducted in May and October 2014. Respondents of this study were master degree students on Vocational and Technology Education Study Programs class of 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 as many as 59 people. The data were collected using questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the progress of the thesis was classified in the excellent category. The competence of students in writing thesis was classified in very well category. Thesis writing is influenced by internal and exsternal campus factors. The dominant factors affecting the thesis were the availability of a discussion with the supervisor, the ability to apply research methods and data analysis, workload in the workplace, the ability to understand foreign literatur, supervisor support, administrative processes, motivation to pass quickly, family support, and scholarship. Abstract

Rapid development of fashion industry affected by digital technology has produced major opportunity in entrepreneurship. Significant obstacles that shall be solved are enthusiasm and student’s personality in entrepreneurship. Process of digitalization dominated in business sector has become solution that can be integrated in vocational education. This research aims to measure level of enthusiasm and entrepreneurial personality of vocational students. Descriptive research with qualitative method is used to quantify the level. 198 students from vocational educations are participated as respondents in this research. Four-Likert-scale questionnaire is applied as data collecting tool. Descriptive statistic is applied to analyze the level of enthusiasm and entrepreneurial personality of students. Meanwhile, independent sample T-test is applied to compare the two levels. The result of research reveals that high average level of enthusiasm and entrepreneurial personality of students in vocational educations that are implemented digital entrepreneur of 75,56%, while it is inversely proportional to vocational educations that do not apply of 70,51%. The process of entrepreneur in vocational education with integrated digital technology becomes innovative way that should be done while digitalization is getting stronger, so that enthusiasm and entrepreneurial personality can be improved.

Abstract

Industrial revolution 4.0 changes the pattern of human life. One of the changes is the essential skills that workers must master. The automotive world is experiencing rapid development, so workers entering this field must be prepared carefully. As a transfer of knowledge and forming a reliable workforce candidate, teachers must know the essential skills that will be taught to students to face the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0. This study aims to analyze the literacy level of SMK teachers majoring in Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering towards the essential skill needs in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. The research uses a quantitative approach using a survey research design. This study involved 168 SMK teachers majoring in Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering as the research sample. Collecting data using a questionnaire with a four-choice Likers scale instrument and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the literacy level of SMK teachers majoring in Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering towards essential skill needs in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 and included in the high category. Essential skills include digital and information skills obtaining a percentage of 75.05%, learning skills obtaining 75.33%, and life and career skills obtaining 76.13%. Although overall, in the high category, there are several items of teacher literacy on essential skills that need to be improved.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to create a variable frequency drive (VFD) trainer kit, assess the practicality of the developed VFD educational tool, and evaluate its impact on the academic performance of industrial electronic engineering students, particularly in the area of electronic control systems. The study utilizes the ADDIE model and customized to meet the requirements and consists of the following phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. There were 130 respondents consisting of 122 vocational students, 1 industry expert/practitioner in the field of VFD, 1 vocational training center instructor, 4 vocational teachers, and 2 lecturers. Data were collected using questionnaires with 4 Likert scales from strongly agree to strongly disagree, feasibility assessment sheets from media experts and material experts, interviews, and electronic control system learning outcomes tests. The learning media receives a “highly feasible” and the job sheet obtains 67 “highly feasible”. Moreover, the level of effectiveness of the learning media receives a score of 0.724, indicating high effectiveness. Therefore, they have proven to be effective in enhancing student learning outcomes and developing their proficiency in controlling the speed of electric motors. This will help bridge the gap between the industry's skill requirements and the skills taught in schools.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi saat ini begitu pesat, khususnya informasi perkembangan teknologi digital. STIKES AL-Islam Yogyakarta salah satu kampus Kesehatan yang berada di Kota Yogyakarta. Kampus ini mempunyai 2 program studi unggulan yaitu Diploma Keperawatan dan Sarjana Keperawatan yang terakreditasi “B”. Namun kampus ini belom memaksimalkan pengelolaan website yang baik untuk menunjang proses akademik. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu pelatihan dan pendampingan untuk mengelola website dengan prinsip smart Management membantu organisasi mengelola proses bisnis dan operasional mereka dengan lebih efisien dan efektif. Pendekatan dari pengabdian ini mulai dari mulai, identifikasi masalah, survai lokasi, perizinan, menentukan kebutuhan sistem, implementasi website, pelatihan dan pendampingan smart managemen system, Evaluasi, selesai. Hasil dari pengabdian masyarakat ini direspon 86,4% sangat baik hal ini terbutkti responden yang menjawab evaluasi sebanyak 19 responden mengatakan sangat baik, 2 baik dan 1 menjawab cukup baik. Kesimpulan pendampingan mengelola website dapat memberikan dampak positif dalam mengembangkan teknologi di STIKES AL ISLAM Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The implementation of Building Construction and Utilities learning for class XI in Vocational High School (VHS) has faced several challenges including student understanding, teachers’ competency, and learning media. This study aims to result in a product, including the feasibility test and effectiveness on the topic of door and window frame details drawing assisted by the Bandicam application. We employed the Research and Development (R&D) model of 4D Thiagarajan. The trial was conducted on 14 students of the Building Information and Modeling Design (DPIB) expertise program class XI with input from 2 experts and 1 teacher. The data was collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The obtained data was analysed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis and descriptive statistics. The results show that the 4 video products were feasible and effective as seen from the improvement of student learning outcomes in the subject of building construction and utilities.

Abstract

Proses kompresi citra merupakan salah satu teknik yang esensial dalam mengelola data visual, terutama dalam konteks pelestarian dan digitalisasi warisan budaya. Penelitian ini membahas penerapan algoritma K-means dalam kompresi citra foto Sumbu Filosofi Yogyakarta, yang meliputi kawasan-kawasan bersejarah dan simbolis dari Kraton Yogyakarta hingga Panggung Krapyak. Algoritma K-means digunakan untuk mengurangi jumlah warna dalam citra, yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi ukuran file tanpa mengorbankan kualitas visual yang signifikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma K-means efektif dalam kompresi citra dengan menghasilkan ukuran file yang lebih kecil dan tetap mempertahankan detail penting dari objek bersejarah. Studi ini juga menyoroti keuntungan dan keterbatasan dari metode kompresi ini dalam konteks pelestarian digital dan penyebaran informasi budaya. Dengan demikian, penggunaan algoritma K-means dapat menjadi solusi yang efisien untuk manajemen data visual dalam upaya konservasi dan promosi warisan budaya Yogyakarta.
