Abstract

This study aims to determine how the development of research topics related to the performance of the BAZNAS mustahik empowerment program in the last 5 years. The research method used is a qualitative method with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach using the VOSviewer application on journal papers indexed by Scopus and Google Scholar and published from 2019-2024. The results showed that research interest in BAZNAS empowerment programs has increased over the past 5 years. BAZNAS, in terms of institutions, has a very good performance in carrying out mustahik economic empowerment programs through business capital assistance and not only providing guidance in terms of material but also the spiritual side by running mosque-based programs and collaborating with da'i and Islamic universities as evidenced by the condition of mustahik who have begun to turn into muktafi and munfiq which shows that in Islam there is the concept of abundance, there is a sense of wanting to share despite limitations. However, the obstacles come from the mustahik themselves because their low level of education affects their mindset to change for the better, in addition to the limited human resources of assistants who have not been able to maximize training and coaching.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the merger of three state-owned Islamic banks on the capital quality and market share of national Islamic banking and identify the factors influencing them. The research employs a quantitative approach using monthly time series data from 2018 to 2023. Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test, Wilcoxon Sign-Test and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results show significant difference in the market share of national Islamic banking before and after the merger, though there was no significant difference in the average of CAR. VECM analysis reveals that NPF, ROE, BOPO, and FDR influence CAR and market share of Islamic banking in the long term, while FDR has a significant effect on CAR in the short term. The merger significantly affects CAR but not the market share of Islamic banking, whereas controlling shareholders (PSP) decisions significantly impact market share of Islamic banking. Abstract

This research attempts to analyze the role of productive-based zakat program in reducing poverty level of mustahik (zakat recipient) households from the perspective of material and spiritual dimensions. The study utilizes primary data which is obtained from interview through questionnaire in DKI Jakarta and Bogor Regency. 221 respondents are selected and interviewed as research samples. They are zakat beneficiaries managed by BAZIS DKI Jakarta and Dompet Dhuafa. The primary data collection was conducted on February until May 2015. CIBEST model comprising four indices is used as tool of analysis. These indices are welfare index, material poverty index, spiritual poverty index and absolute poverty index. It is found that the presence of zakat utilization program is able to increase welfare index of the mustahik by 96.8 percent. The material poverty index and absolute poverty index can also be reduced by 30.15 percent and 91.30 percent, respectively. Unpredictable result occurs on spiritual poverty index in which there is an increase of two households living under spiritual poverty. It means that these two zakat recipient households suffer weakening spiritual values despite materially better-off in the presence of zakat program.

Abstract

Poverty is the most crucial problem in many countries including Indonesia. As a predominantly Muslim countries, there are several Islamic instruments to combat poverty, such as zakat. It is an act of worship that combines economic, social, moral and religious components to improve the welfare of Muslims, as well as reducing poverty. Bogor Regency, a region in Indonesia, targeted 10 billion rupiah as its zakat collection for 2016. However, the actual zakat collection was only 5 billion rupiahs, which signals the ineffectiveness of zakat management from either collection, distribution, or utilization. The purpose of this research is to analyse zakat performance in BAZNAS (Badan Amil Zakat Nasional; National Board of Zakat) in Bogor Regency. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires completed by 100 mustahik household in Bogor Regency. The National Zakat Index was used with a calculation method called the Multi-Stage Weighted Index. The findings indicate that the implementation of zakat performance in BAZNAS Bogor Regency is fairly good.

Abstract

Productive waqf has emerged as a promising financial instrument for socio-economic development in Muslim-majority countries. However, existing studies are fragmented and lack a comprehensive synthesis of models and practices. This study aims to bridge this gap by conducting a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on productive waqf management models published between 2019 and 2024. Using the PRISMA protocol, 51 eligible articles were selected from Scopus, Google Scholar, and SciSpace via Publish or Perish (PoP), and analyzed through VOSviewer for bibliometric mapping. The findings reveal that while productive waqf practices in Indonesia are evolving beyond the traditional 3M (Mosques, Madrasahs, and Tombs) model, they remain predominantly focused on cash-based waqf and business units. The utilization of waqf land for productive purposes is still significantly underexplored. Keyword mapping indicates emerging research trends around digitalization, governance, and nazir professionalism. This study contributes a synthesized framework of productive waqf models and highlights the need for standardization, certification of nazir, and innovation in land-based waqf development. The implications offer strategic insights for waqf stakeholders to align Islamic philanthropy with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines how the credibility and usefulness of social media electronic word of mouth (eWOM) affects information adoption and how it subsequently influences donor engagement, donation intention, and donation decisions among urban Muslims in Indonesia. It also explores differences in donation behavior based on the motivation type.Methodology – This study employed a quantitative approach using survey data from 230 Muslim respondents in Greater Jakarta. The analysis utilized descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), including outer model evaluation (validity and reliability) and inner model analysis (hypothesis testing).Findings – All proposed hypotheses are supported. eWOM credibility is the strongest predictor of information adoption, significantly enhancing donor engagement, donation intention, and actual donation decisions. Donor engagement further increases intention, which strongly predicts decisions. The descriptive results show that humanitarian donations are the most dominant, particularly among young Muslim women aged 20–24, driven by empathy and social media engagement. Instagram is the primary reference source and Kitabisa.com is the most frequently used donation platform.Implications – This research is useful for digital fundraising platforms and NGOs that aim to improve engagement by focusing on emotionally credible content, platform usability, and micro-donation options, especially for humanitarian and crowdfunding campaigns targeting younger Muslim donors.Originality – This study contributes to the literature by integrating descriptive donation motivation typologies with SEM-PLS analysis to provide a comprehensive understanding of digital Islamic philanthropic behavior among urban Muslim communities.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of microprudential policies, specifically spin-offs, conversions, and mergers, on Islamic banks in Indonesia, both directly and indirectly through transmission variables, in relation to the growth of the Islamic banking market share. The method used in this study is the dynamic ARDL model, which was chosen for its ability to accommodate data stationarity, cointegration, and short- and long-term relationships. This study utilizes monthly time series data from Bank Umum Syariah (BUS) and Unit Usaha Syariah (UUS) in Indonesia, covering the period from January 2008 to December 2023, resulting in 192 observations for each variable. The data were processed using MS Excel and EViews 10. This research finds that only conversion has a significant direct impact on market share in both the short and long run, while mergers are significant only in the long run, and spin-offs are insignificant in both time frames. As for the transmission variables, DPK and ROA consistently drive market share growth in both the short and long run. NPF is significant only in the long-term simultaneous impact model, where its increase hampers market share growth, whereas FDR is significant only in the short-term simultaneous impact model, where its increase promotes market share. This study incorporates all three microprudential policies—spin-offs, conversions, and mergers—within a single equation model, accompanied by the use of a dynamic model that has not been employed in previous studies. This approach allows for the examination of both short-term and long-term effects.

Abstract

Background: The development of social media, especially TikTok, has led to the birth of the social commerce era that changes digital marketing strategies, including for Muslim fashion products. With its short video and live streaming features, TikTok enables quick interaction between creators, sellers, and consumers. Jakarta as an urban center with Muslim majority becomes a strategic market for this industry. In this context, the AISAS (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, Share) model is used to understand the influence of TikTok content on consumer purchase intention, with an emphasis on the importance of relevant, engaging, and emotional content strategies.Purpose: This study analyzes the influence of TikTok content using the AISAS model on Muslim fashion purchase intentions in Jakarta. As a metropolitan area with urban Muslim consumers, Jakarta residents are highly trend-conscious and enjoy shopping.Design/Methodology/Approach: This quantitative research involved 260 male and female TikTok users aged 18-70, Muslim and have watched live streaming and short video marketing in Jakarta using purposive sampling and analyzed using SEM-PLS and descriptive methods.Finding/Result: TikTok's short video marketing proved more effective than live streaming in attracting consumer attention, interest, and search. The AISAS model is a relevant mediator in explaining purchase intention, while product quality, price, and satisfaction play a major role in driving action and share. Authentic and interactive content from short videos and live streaming builds trust, creates trends, and encourages purchase and loyalty to Muslim fashion products. Conclusion: Companies should integrate short videos marketing and live streaming using the AISAS model, emphasizing experience, attention, and engagement. Personal preferences outweigh brand popularity in influencing purchase decisions.Originality/Value: A comparison of TikTok's two content strategies (short video and live streaming) in one study directly linked to purchase intention provides a unique perspective. The comprehensive integration of the AISAS model in the TikTok social media context is an approach that is still rarely used in video-based digital content marketing research. Focus on Muslim fashion products and a specific location (Jakarta), which provides contextual distinctiveness in seeing how global social media trends interact with local culture and preferences. Keywords: AISAS, social media, fashion muslim, purchase intention, TikTok content
