Abstract

The value of natural rubber exports is declining continuously every year. One of the reasons for the decline in the value of natural rubber exports is due to the implementation of Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) by the main export destination countries in international trade. The most widely applied NTMs policies in trading countries are Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) and Technical Barrier to Trade (TBT). This study aims to analyze the impact of NTMs on Indonesia's natural rubber exports from 2012 to 2016. The estimation result shows the GDP coverage ratio of SPS and coverage ratio of TBT significantly affect the export value of the natural rubber of Indonesia. SPS variable shows a negative coefficient value while the TBT variable shows a positive coefficient value. Keywords: Natural Rubber, Gravity Model, Inventory Approach, NTMs JEL: F13, F14, Q17

Abstract

This research examines how customer satisfaction and trust impact customer loyalty within Indonesia's four-wheel automotive refinancing sector. Through a quantitative survey approach, information was gathered from 119 participants who had previously utilized refinancing services at PT X, an organization associated with a prominent automotive manufacturer. The study employed the SERVQUAL framework to measure service quality, complemented by Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) to gauge customer attitudes and satisfaction rates. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized to analyze the interconnections between satisfaction, trust, and loyalty variables. Results demonstrate that customer satisfaction significantly and positively influences both trust and loyalty, with trust also showing a substantial impact on loyalty. Empathy and responsiveness were identified as critical service dimensions needing enhancement. The overall CSI value of 79.8% indicates customers are "satisfied" with current services. The research emphasizes that improving essential service characteristics can markedly enhance customer loyalty and retention in automotive refinancing, offering practical recommendations for strategic decision-making in this industry sector.

Abstract

The role of ITPC (Indonesia Trade Promotion Center) as an export promotion agency has begun to be questioned due to the fluctuation in Indonesia's non-oil and gas export value. Some of the ITPCs are in major importing countries of Indonesian cocoa. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing Indonesian processed cocoa exports (HS1803/cocoa paste) to major importing countries, with a focus on the effect of ITPC, Indonesia's export promotion agency, in foreign countries. The types of data used are secondary data from 2005 to 2022, which involve the top seven importing countries: Malaysia, China, India, the United States, Brazil, Germany, and the Philippines. The data were analyzed using the gravity model. The data were obtained from various sources, including Statistics Indonesia, the World Bank, WITS, the Ministry of Industry, and other relevant institutions. Data processing was conducted by using panel data regression with EViews 10. Real exchange rate and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) had a positive and significant impact on Indonesia's processed cocoa exports The ITPC dummy variable in the estimation of the model has a coefficient of 1.047, which means that if there is an ITPC in the destination importing country, the export value of Indonesian cocoa will be higher by as much as 104.7 percent compared to the importing destination country without ITPC Generally, the result of this research can be a recommendation to continue the existence of ITPC. The presence of ITPC will establish market intelligence and facilitate the export of processed cocoa to importing countries.

Abstract

Rice price disparity at the farmer and consumer level is large. This study analyzes the movement and transmission of rice pricer at the producer and consumer level between regions in Indonesia. The data used in this study is data on rice and beef prices at the producer and consumer level from 2010 to 2017. The method used in the analysis is the Error Correction Model (ECM). The movement of rice between regions in Indonesia fluctuated throughout the period 2010- 2017. The price of rice at the producer level is more volatile than the price of rice at the consumer level. Transmission of rice prices at the consumer level to prices at the producer level occurs asymmetrically, both in the short term and in the long run. In producer- consumer relations, the transmission of rice prices at the producer level to prices at the consumer level occurs asymmetrically in the short term, but symmetrically in the long run.

Abstract

The aims of this article to analyze and evaluate soybean self-sufficiency and import policies in Indonesia through policy simulations for the development of soybean self-sufficiency and imports in Indonesia. The data used in this study are annual secondary data in the form of a time series from 1995 to 2020. This research uses descriptive analysis methods, simultaneous equation models (2SLS) and alternative policy simulations. The results shows that The GDP per capita in Indonesia and the considerable 5% increase in the price of soya beans are just two of the favorable factors influencing imports. However, it also demonstrates that there are no external variables influencing Indonesia's export of soy beans. The yield of soy beans is also positively and significantly impacted by the area of the land. On the other hand, Indonesia's soya bean net export is negative and significant. There are several alternative scenarios for Indonesia's soybean policy, including the escalation of land-size (20%), GDP per capita (30%), and official exchange rate (10%). The result of the policy simulation shows that the land-size is important factor to encouraging Indonesian soybean self-sufficiency due to essential input factors.
