Abstract

This experimental study employed nonequivalent control group design to examine the effect of the flipped classroom method on students’ achievement in Islamic education learning among grade XII students at SMA Negeri 1 Sumpiuh in 2024. The flipped classroom method was implemented by instructing students to study the material independently through learning videos followed by elaboration and discussion through online platforms. For data analysis, tests were administered to 30 students in the experimental groupand 30 students in the control groups. The results of the N-gain Score calculation showed that the improvement in material comprehension among students in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. The N-gain score for the experimental group students was 0.3562, while that for the control group was 0.1511. Statistical analysis using an independent samples t-test showed that the comprehension ability of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (p > 0.05). Based on these findings, the flipped classroom method can be considered an effective alternative strategy to enhance students’ understanding of learning materials in online Islamic education.

Abstract

Financial statement fraud is a highly risky practice in financial reporting. This research aims at investigating the effect of the fraud diamond (Pressure, Opportunity, Rationalization, and Capability) on the probability of financial statement fraud. The sample consisted of 132 cooperatives over three years (2022–2024). The data analysis technique used logistic regression. The findings showed that pressure was a significant factor driving fraud, arising from various financial obligations that had to be met. Opportunity also influenced the occurrence of financial statement fraud, as a weak internal control system created opportunities for manipulation. Rationalization played a role in enabling fraud, as individuals justified their actions through various rationalizations. Additionally, capability increased the potential for fraud, as individuals with specialized knowledge and skills were more likely to commit fraudulent activities. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening internal controls and addressing financial pressures to mitigate the risk of financial statement fraud.

Abstract

Science Process Skills (KPS) is a basic competency in science education that plays an important role in developing students' scientific thinking skills and science literacy. This study aims to describe the growth of science process skills of Physics Education students based on the KPS indicators reflected in the Basic Physics practicum report. The study used a longitudinal type quantitative descriptive approach with 54 students of the Physics Education Study Program, FMIPA, State University of Makassar. Data were obtained from the assessment of student practicum reports during four meetings using the PPP rubric which consisted of six indicators: formulating problems, formulating hypotheses, compiling operational definitions of variables, collecting data, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the mean value, standard deviation, and score change between meetings (Δ). The results showed an increase in the average PPP score from 2.58 at the first meeting to 3.42 at the fourth meeting, with a growth of ΔP=+0.84. The indicator with the highest improvement was analyzing the data and drawing conclusions (Δ=+0.90), while the lowest improvement occurred in the indicator formulating the problem (Δ=+0.75). These findings show that Basic Physics practicum activities play an effective role in fostering students' scientific thinking skills gradually. This study recommends that practicum activities in higher education emphasize explicit guidance on advanced PPP indicators, as well as strengthen reflective activities and scientific communication in practicum reports.

Abstract

The implementation of the rights and obligations of husbands and wives in rural Muslim communities does not take place within a normatively sterile framework; rather, it is shaped by a dynamic interaction between Islamic teachings and deeply rooted local cultures. In practice, the norms of Ahwal Syakhshiyyah are not always applied textually as prescribed in classical fiqh literature, but instead undergo processes of interpretation and adjustment in accordance with the social realities of village communities. This study aims to analyze how local cultural acculturation shapes the implementation of spousal rights and obligations, as well as the patterns of Ahwal Syakhshiyyah application in the context of rural Muslim societies. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, analyzing normative sources of Islamic law, statutory regulations, and relevant sociological and anthropological literature. The data are examined through content analysis and contextual interpretation to identify patterns of integration between Islamic legal norms and local cultural values. The findings indicate that local culture plays a significant role in shaping role distribution, decision-making processes, and the resolution of household conflicts. On the one hand, patriarchal patterns that position the husband as the primary authority figure remain evident; on the other hand, more balanced husband–wife relations have emerged, particularly in economic matters and family deliberation. These findings underscore that Ahwal Syakhshiyyah in rural Muslim communities functions as a living law that is adaptive and contextual. This study contributes to the development of Islamic family law by emphasizing the importance of a contextual approach to ensure that the values of justice, compassion, and household harmony can be realized without compromising the substantive principles of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

Physics material is often considered a difficult subject because it is abstract, while the limitations of laboratory facilities are also an obstacle in the learning process. In addition, conventional learning media that are still predominantly used make students less motivated and less likely to explore concepts independently. This research aims to determine the improvement in students' conceptual understanding of physics after the implementation of PhET simulation media on the topic of sound waves. The research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 30 students from class XI-2 of SMAN 20 Gowa. The instrument used was an essay test administered before and after the treatment to measure the level of students’ conceptual understanding. The data were analyzed descriptively to observe the changes in pretest and posttest scores, and the N-Gain formula was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the learning process. The results showed an increase in the average score from 6.9 (pretest) to 20.17 (posttest). The average N Gain score was 0.74, which falls into the high category. These findings indicate that the use of PhET simulation media contributes positively to improving students’ conceptual understanding in physics. Therefore, it can be considered an effective and interactive learning alternative, particularly for abstract topics such as sound waves. The implications of this research confirm that the use of PhET simulation media is not only effective in improving students' understanding of physics concepts but can also be integrated more widely as an alternative learning strategy to overcome the limitations of practicum facilities in schools.

Abstract

Examines childless marriage in Indonesian law through a maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah [objectives of Islamic law] perspective, with particular attention to the interpretation of ḥifẓ al-nasl [protection of lineage]. It analyzes how Indonesian positive law and Islamic legal objectives conceptualize reproduction, lineage, and family obligations in the context of contemporary childlessness. Using a normative-juridical and conceptual approach, the study examines Indonesian marriage regulations, especially Law No. 1 of 1974 as amended by Law No. 16 of 2019, alongside classical and contemporary maqāṣid literature. The findings show that Indonesian positive law does not explicitly prohibit childless marriage, but implicitly regulates reproductive responsibility through norms concerning the purposes of marriage and family welfare. From a maqāṣid perspective, ḥifẓ al-nasl is not limited to an obligation to have children, but functions as a broader principle of preserving legitimate lineage and social continuity, allowing interpretive space for circumstances such as health, psychological, and socio-economic factors. This study argues that childless marriage constitutes a dynamic normative issue rather than a dichotomous conflict between Islamic law and state law, and contributes a nuanced maqāṣid-based framework for understanding childlessness within Indonesian family law and contemporary legal discourse.

Abstract

The increasingly dynamic and competitive environment faced by state-owned enterprises highlights the importance of effective leadership in ensuring the successful implementation of strategic human resource management practices. This study examines the effect of Leadership on the successful implementation of High-Performance Work Systems (HPWS), with Organizational Commitment and Innovation Culture serving as intervening variables, at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Mojokerto. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected through a census survey of all 85 permanent employees and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that leadership has a positive and significant direct effect on HPWS, as well as on organizational commitment and innovation culture. Furthermore, organizational commitment and innovation culture were found to have significant positive effects on HPWS and to partially mediate the relationship between leadership and HPWS. These findings indicate that leadership enhances HPWS implementation not only through direct managerial influence but also indirectly by strengthening employees’ psychological attachment to the organization and fostering an innovation-oriented work environment. Overall, this study provides empirical evidence that integrating leadership practices with efforts to build organizational commitment and innovation culture is essential for achieving sustainable HPWS, particularly within the context of Indonesian state-owned enterprises

Abstract

This study examines whether urban transformation and increasing economic activity influence the social structure of surrounding communities. The research focuses on the local Muslim community in three major economic centers in Purwokerto City, Banyumas Regency, namely Pasar Wage, Kebon Dalem Market, and the area surrounding the city square (Alun-alun). Purwokerto has experienced rapid economic growth and urban expansion, positioning it as a strategic destination for residents from neighboring regions. This transformation raises important questions regarding its impact on local community dynamics, particularly within Muslim society. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with selected informants, and analyzed using Talcott Parsons’ AGIL framework, which includes Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, and Latent Pattern Maintenance. The findings reveal that urban change in Purwokerto encompasses not only economic transformation but also social and political dimensions. The local Muslim community demonstrates a strong capacity for adaptation to economic shifts while actively pursuing economic opportunities. At the same time, social cohesion remains intact through the reinforcement of religious values, social networks, and national identity. These elements function as latent pattern maintenance mechanisms that sustain community stability amid urban change. This study highlights the resilience of local Muslim communities in balancing economic development with the preservation of social and religious values.
