Abstract

Computational thinking (CT), one of the most fundamental thinking processes, empowers students in solving mathematical complex problems. In fact, most of Indonesian students, particularly in senior high school, yet have poor CT skills in mathematics. The quality of mathematics test can be one of the potential predictors to describe students’ CT skills accurately. The test, however, which involves enumeration rules as a content to measure Indonesian students’ CT skills relatively has not been existing. A cross-sectional study using descriptive-quantitative method was used to design and produce a qualified mathematics test to measure students’ CT skills. Three mathematical-essay problems were assessed by four experts in mathematics education, and administrated to 35 eleventh-grade students at a public senior high school in Bandung city. A number of quantitative analyses, such as Aiken’s V, Kendall’s W test, Pearson correlation, Cronbach alpha, discrimination index, and difficulty index were applied to assess the test’s quality. Results of this study showed high content and construct validity through expert assessment, as well as strong criterion-related validity based on student performance. High reliability was confirmed through Cronbach’s alpha, indicating consistent results across all test items. In addition, item analysis revealed very good discrimination indices and recommended difficulty levels, ensuring the test effectively differentiates student skills. The test provides a model for educators and curriculum designers in mathematics education seeking to improve classroom assessments, particularly in assessing students’ CT skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine trends and patterns in mathematical literacy research in Indonesia, as an essential component of mathematics education. Using a systematic literature review, this study analyzed 18 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2021 and 2025. This study examined the distribution of publications across journal quartiles, years, geographic research sites, research methods, mathematical topics, and educational levels. The results showed an upward trend in publications in recent years, with most studies appearing in mid-tier journals. Among the reviewed studies, qualitative methods were the most frequently employed research approach. The investigated topics were mainly concentrated on shape and space, and most studies focused on the junior high school level, while other levels received less attention. In addition, research sites were unevenly distributed, with concentrations in certain provinces. These findings indicate that mathematical literacy research in Indonesia has developed steadily but remains concentrated in specific contexts, offering opportunities for broader coverage in future studies.

Abstract

Penelitian pendidikan sebagai salah satu sarana untuk melakukan inovasi dan mengevaluasi proses pembelajaran memerlukan dukungan kompetensi dalam mengolah dan menganalisis data, salah satunya melalui penggunaan SPSS. Namun, hasil analisis kebutuhan pada mitra menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa calon guru dan dosen masih memerlukan penguatan kompetensi dalam penggunaan perangkat lunak statistik, khususnya SPSS, untuk mendukung pelaksanaan penelitian pendidikan. Untuk itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa calon guru dan dosen dalam mengolah serta menganalisis data hasil penelitian menggunakan SPSS. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk workshop yang melibatkan 461 peserta dari Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan desain pretest-posttest untuk mengukur peningkatan kompetensi peserta, sedangkan respons peserta dikumpulkan melalui angket dan pertanyaan terbuka. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan menggunakan gain ternormalisasi (n-gain). Hasil workshop menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi pada kategori rendah dalam mengolah dan menganalisis data menggunakan SPSS. Meskipun demikian, mahasiwa calon guru menunjukkan respons positif terhadap workshop berupa adanya penguatan keterampilan praktis, peningkatan pemahaman dan kepercayaan diri, dan pengalaman serta wawasan baru dalam melakukan analisis data. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa workshop SPSS berpotensi menjadi alternatif program penguatan kompetensi penelitian bagi mahasiswa calon guru dan dosen.
