Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of market orientation, leadership, organizational innovation and organizational performance in handycraft industry in Bukittinggi City, Pariaman City, Padang Pariaman Regency, and Pesisir Selatan Regency. This research uses quantitative methods, while the sampling technique using Purposive sampling with sample size of 86 craft companies. The criteria assigned to the respondent is the handycraft business that produce and market their own product. In this study, data were collected through the questionnaire of the owner of the handycraft industry. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) method with SmartPLS software. This research uses multidimensional constructions first order reflective and second order formative. Based on the data analyzed it can be concluded that leadership has a significant positive effect on business performance. This is evidenced by the two dimensions of leadership (Transactional leadership and transformational leadership) is able to explain the performance of the organization well. In addition, market orientation  have 3 dimensional (Customer orientation, resource orientation, and competitor orientation) is also able to give influence to organizational performance and organizational innovation. However, organizational innovation is not able to give a significant influence for the performance improvement of handycraft industry. It can be concluded that organizational performance in handycraft industry is influenced by market orientation conducted on consumers and competitors. And also the most important factor is how the attitude of leadership owned by the owner of handicraft industry in managing and running the business, in order to craft products in accordance with customer tastes.

Abstract

The study tried to analyze and determine 1) the effect of green brand image on green purchase intention, 2) effect of green awareness on green purchase intention, 3) the effect of green advertisement on green purchase intention, 4) the effect of ecological knowledge on green purchase intention, and 5) the effect of green purchase intention on green purchase behavior. Explanatory research was done with a survey explanatory research methods and quantitative research, with  the population of consumers Bukittinggi with 150 respondents collected using accidental sampling with questionnaires,  analyzed by descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Model. It shows  ecological knowledge affects green purchase intention, but the green brand image, green awareness, and  green advertisement have no effect on the increase in the green purchase intention. Green purchase intention can increase in consumer green purchase behavior. It implies that the creative industry should continue to improve the quality and knowledge of the consumer, so the competitive advantage will be achieved.

Abstract

Sport events Tour de Singkarak (TDS) can increase tourist arrivals to West Sumatera. At least at the time of execution, the majority of participants and team supporters (sports tourist) brings the families. Although there are claims about the arrival of tourists, it requires to see the impact of sports events TDS and comprehensive long-term basis to the West Sumatera image as a tourist destination (destination image) and its impact on tourist satisfaction. This study re-conceptualizes the interconnec-tedness among sport event image, tourist destination image, perception and the effect on tourists satisfaction. The investigation on this interconnection is expected to reveal empirically tested model. As an explanatory in nature, this study uses explanatory survey and cross sectional data. In total of 100 spectators of Tour de Singkarak in West Sumatera, they got involved in survey and they were taken by convenience sam-pling technique. Analysis of this data was done by using variance based structural equation modeling. It was found that sport event image and destination image signifi-cantly affect the satisfaction of spectators of Tour de Singkarak.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to determine and analyze the relationship product innovation, brand image, perceived value and purchase intention in the craft of weaving in the district of Kubang. This study uses a purposive sampling technique with 145 respondents of weaving crafts. The criteria of the sample are consumers (individuals) who know the products weaving. The data  analysis uses Partial Least Square-SEM with software Smart PLS. The result of this study shows that : 1) brand image has a significant effect on the perceived value, 2) product innovation has a significant effect on the brand image,  3) perceived value has a significant effect on the purchase intention, and 4) brand image and product innovation are not able to provide a significant effect on purchase intention.https://doi.org/10.26905/jmdk.v7i2.3290

Abstract

In Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), especially in the food and beverage sector, process innovation is an important construct that can maintain the sustainability of product innovation and improve marketing innovation strategies for optimal market performance. This study aims to examine the effect of innovation elements, namely product, process, and marketing on the market performance of SMEs in the food and beverage sector, and the effect of marketing innovation on market performance when mediated by product innovation. Using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of SMEs in the food and beverage sector that is not a franchise. A total of 104 feedback questionnaires was analyzed using the SmartPLS 3.3 software and Microsoft Excel. This study found that all hypotheses were supported significantly in a positive relationship.

Abstract

Community Service Activities in Rakik Azizah in Padang City are carried out to identify and solve problems faced by owners in managing and developing Rakik Azizah's. Some of the problems faced by the owner are related to obtaining business licenses, managing business finances, using packaging and marketing. The technique used in carrying out this service activity is through counseling and assistance for the owner of Rakik Azizah. Counseling was carried out during the period the activities were carried out at the Management Department, Universitas Andalas. This extension activity will be followed by demonstration and practice as well as consultation during the period of service to better provide understanding and application of the materials provided in the extension activities that have been carried out. Furthermore, mentoring activities carried out using the vocational method where the community service activity team directly accompanies the operational activities of Rakik Azizah's at the operational location of the business. The activity results are files to administer IPRT, Packaging with attractive labels and increased on line marketing.

Abstract

A business of Anyaman Mansiang in Taratak, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province has existed for a long time and is a hereditary business. One of the groups of craftsmen of this Mansiang leaf is the Sejahtera Group. The problems faced by partners are product development and lack of marketing performance. The purpose of this activity was to increase business growth, develop product competitiveness, accelerate technology and management diffusion from university to partners. In particular, the activity's objective was to develop mansiang leaf handicraft products in the Taratak Sejahtera woven mansiang group. The activity was carried out in 3 stages, namely the preparation stage, starting with socialization and obtaining permits with related institutions, contacting craftsmen to decide on the activity schedule and preparing activity modules, and preparing for the implementation of activities. The production aspect implementation stage used quality control methods, training methods on product variations, practical methods for tidying up products, training methods for product creation, and business consulting. At the monitoring and evaluation stage, activities were carried out to evaluate the implementation of activities and monitor the performance of activities. The activity results were related to quality control, increased product variety, increased product neatness and yarn that matches the color of the webbing, development of design innovation, and quality improvement to target the middle and upper segments. Mentoring activities need to be continued to help the business of the Taratak Sejahtera woven mansiang group continue to perform well.
