Abstract

Hasil penelitian menunjultkan bahwa: "Pendidikan Bemawasan Budaya" baikrecara hukum maupun secara konseptual selaras dengan tujuan pendidikan nasionaldan tujuan pendidibn tinggi. Tujuan PIP "Pendidikan Bewawasan Budaya" ialahterbentuknya manusia berbudaya. yang salah salu dimensinya adalah berbudaya ilmu.Perilaku budaya memiliki ciri mampu mengelispresikan potensi dan nilai keilmuan,kemanusiaan dan kemasyarakatan. Proses belajar-mengajar bemawasan budaya berupaproses asimilasi, yang memiliki ciri adanya keterlibatan langsung subjek didik danmmebnbn budaya proses (mengolah informasi, melakukan intemalisasi, menghasilkansesuatu). Dalam menyikapi subjelt didik hams tercipta kondisi sosialisasi;pengalaman berpikir subjek didik meliputi berpikir linier-silematik dan berpikirkrealif-ristcmik. Dalam bidang penelitian dan pengabdian pada rnasyarabt perludiadakan berbagai usaha yang mendukung pencapaian PIP "Pendidikan BewawasanBudaya".

Abstract

EVALUASI IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI PERGURUAN TINGGIAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi program pendidikan karakter di perguruan tinggi, terutama bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan responden berjumlah 129 mahasiswa UNY yang diambil secara acak. Data dikumpulkan dengan angket dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum implementasi pendidikan karakter sudah berjalan dengan sangat baik dan sudah berhasil sesuai dengan yang direncanakan, meskipun masih ada yang perlu ditingkatkan kualitasnya. Implementasi nilai-nilai karakter bagi mahasiswa yang termuat dalam visi secara umum sudah berhasil dengan sangat baik, meskipun ada beberapa capaian aspek karakter yang kurang baik. Keberhasilan implementasi pendidikan karakter karena dukungan sarana dan prasarana yang ada. Namun demikian, masih ada beberapa hambatan dalam implementasi pendidikan karakter di antaranya banyaknya jumlah mahasiswa dari berbagai latar belakang yang berbeda, belum adanya komitmen yang sama tentang pendidikan karakter dari warga dan belum adanya peraturan yang tegas serta dana khusus yang cukup untuk mengawal implementasi pendidikan karakter.AbstractThis study was aimed at evaluating the implementation of character education program at the university level, especially for the students. This study was categorized as evaluation research. This study was conducted at Yogyakarta State University (YSU) with the respondents of 129 students which was chosen using random sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed using quantitative descriptive method. The results show that in general the implementation of character education at the university level had been going very well and had been successful as planned, although there were still things that needed to be improved in quality. Implementation of character values for students contained in the vision of YSU in general has been very successful. There are some achievements of character aspects that are not good. The successful implementation of character education at YSU is due to the support of existing facilities and infrastructure. However, there are still some obstacles in the implementation of character education at YSU, including a large number of students from different backgrounds, the absence of the same commitment about character education from YSU residents, and the absence of strict regulations and insufficient funds to oversee the implementation of character education at YSU.

Abstract

Abstract This study was the broadening of a previous action research. The purpose of this study was to increase the interest of the students to read literature. This study was also aimed to explore the appropriateness of the literature for the students, the type of the assignment given by the lecturer, and the quality of circulation of the literature. This action research was done in nineteen undergraduate and one graduate courses from different study programs. The respondents of the study were the students and the lecturers of the courses. The data were collected using questionnaire and observation. The questionnaire was used to collect data from lecturers and from the students of the courses, while the observation was used to collect data about the activity of the students and the librarians. The data collected were analyzed quantatively, to describe of the percentage the respondents responding every question. The result of this study indicated that the majority of the students read the literature 1.5 hours per day outside the examination period and 3.5 hours during the examination period. The special service provided by IKIP Yogyakarta library combined with a systematic assignment from the lecturer made it possible for the students to be interested in reading the literature. This can be seen from the responses of the students, who generally viewed that most of the literatures were interesting, relevant, and very useful for the students to deepen their knowledge and skills. However, there were many of the students who found difficulties in understanding literature in English. The types of assignment given to the students were writing a book  or report of reading, doing a discussion related to the literature, or writing a research proposal. The way the librarian handles the literature circulation was good. The condition of the reading room needed to be improved in order to be more comfortable. However that condition was better than the condition in the previous study. Keywords: reading interest, library service, and reserve literature.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan strategi pembuatan tanggapan dan strategi komentar terhadap bacaan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menguji kefektifan strategi pembuatan tanggapan terhadap teks, strategi komentar terhadap bacaan, dan strategi konvensional dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 92 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tulis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis varians satu jalan dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Scheffe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara strategi pembuatan tanggapan terhadap teks dan strategi konvensional. Kedua, pada penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan antara strategi komentar terhadap bacaan dan strategi konvensional. Ketiga, tidak terdapat perbedaan antara strategi pembuatan tanggapan terhadap teks dan strategi komentar terhadap bacaan, namun hasil rata-rata kelompok eksperimen 1 lebih besar dibandingkan kelompok eksperimen 2. Dengan demikian, urutan keefektifan ketiga strategi tersebut adalah strategi pembuatan tanggapan terhadap teks, strategi komentar terhadap bacaan, dan strategi konvensionalTHE EFFECTIVENESS OF RESPONSE STRATEGY ON TEXT AND COMMENTS ON READING IN LEARNING WRITINGThis study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the strategy of making responses and strategies for commenting on the reading in learning to write exposition text for Junior Hight School level. This study was also to determine the effectiveness of strategies for making responses to texts, strategies for commenting on reading, and conventional strategies in learning to write exposition texts. The sample of this study was 92 students who were selected through cluster random sampling technique. The data collection technique used a written test. The data analysis technique used was one-way analysis of variance and continued with the Scheffe test. The results showed that first, there was a significant difference between the strategy for making responses to the text and the conventional strategy. Second, result in this study is that there is a difference between the commentary strategy on reading and the conventional strategy. Third, there is no significant difference between the strategy for making responses to text and the strategy for commenting on reading, but the average result of the experimental group 1 is greater than that of the experimental group 2. Thus, the order of the effectiveness of the three strategies is the strategy of making responses to text, the strategy of commenting on readings, and conventional strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap: (1) muatan pendidikan karakter yang tersaji dalam materi buku teks IPS SMP di Kota Surakarta, (2) kesesuaian nilai-nilai karakter yang diintegrasikan dalam buku teks dengan peta nilai untuk siswa SMP berdasarkan bahan pengembangan pendidikan budaya dan karakter bangsa, dan (3) kesesuaian pendekatan pendidikan karakter dalam buku teks dengan pendekatan komprehensif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analisis konten inferensial. Fokus penelitiannya adalah muatan pendidikan karakter pada materi IPS yang disajikan dalam buku teks IPS SMP kelas VII semester 1 di Kota Surakarta. Teknik analisis konten melibatkan tiga orang rater yang dibekali dengan pedoman lembar analisis muatan pendidikan karakter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga buku teks memuat pendidikan karakter berupa nilai-nilai karakter, yang disajikan secara eksplisit dan implisit. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa muatan pendidikan karakter dalam ketiga buku teks berkategori kurang memadai dengan rerata sebesar 31,33%. Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, buku teks IPS

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the foundation of ontology, epistemology and axiology in an article entitled "Analysis of the Character Education Content of the Social Studies Textbooks of Junior High Schools in Surakarta City" written by Permatasari. This research is an inferential content analysis research. namely the foundation of ontology, epistemology and axiology, or in other words what, how and where is the science. The technique used in this research is the content analysis technique. The validity and reliability in this study were intraritarian semantics (test retest reliability). The results showed that: 1) the foundation of the ontology used consisted of material objects, namely the content of character education in social studies textbooks in the city of Surabaya; 2) the epistemological foundation consists of steps 3) the axiological foundation in the form of the benefits of character education values developed in the social studies textbooks in the city of Surabaya which have ethical (religious) and moral values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter yang difasilitasi sekolah untuk diinternalisasi dalam diri siswa, (2) mengetahui proses internalisasi nilai karakter pada diri siswa, dan (3) mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter yang telah diaktualisasi siswa dalam perilaku sehari-hari. Paradigma penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, guru, dan  siswa di SMP Negeri 2 Bantul. Penentuan subjek penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik purposive dengan cara memilih sejumlah informan yang disesuaikan dengan tujuan penelitian. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan pengamatan nonpartisipan, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data mengacu pada langkah-langkah analisis data yang dikemukakan oleh Egan (2009, p.281). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai karakter yang difasilitasi oleh sekolah untuk diinternalisasi dalam diri siswa SMP 2 Bantul adalah nilai religius, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, kesopanan, saling menghargai, peduli pada lingkungan dan cinta tanah air. Nilai-nilai karakter yang telah diaktualisasi dalam perilaku sehari-hari siswa di SMP 2 Bantul adalah nilai religius, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, kesopanan, saling menghargai, dan peduli pada lingkungan. Abstract

The eclining quality of the Indonesian character needs to be resolved. One of the ways tosolve this problem is through the educational practice, by using a more effective approach.A single approach of values education is considered to be ineffective, that is why it isneeded a comprehensive one. The development of students' personality should be holistic innature, including the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. Four importantsubstances of values education are values realization, character education, citizenship education,and moral education. Various programs are needed to help young people develop their "lifeskills". The important goals of character education include: respect, responsibility, compassion,self-discipline, loyalty, courage, tolerance, work ethic, and a belief in and love of God. Themajor aspects of citizenship education include: knowledge of being good citizens, appreciationto democratic system and civic values, critical thlnking skills, communication skills, cooperationskills, and conflict resolution skills. The major goal of moral education is to produceautonomous individuals who are in a high level of moral reasoning, are colnlnitted to acting in amanner cosistent with it or who have noble characters.The four important substances stated above are better integrated in Religion Education andPancasila Moral Education. Various strategies of values and moral education should be utilized,including inculcating values, modeling values, facilitating values, and the development of skillsfor achieving a personally peaceful and socially constructive life, as a manifestation of strongfaith.

Abstract

Empathy can only be developed if we understand ourselves.Empathy makes it possible for oneto be involved in a good socialrelationship. There are three methodsto increase empathy, i.e., self­introspection and theuse of an intimate friend for self- reflection,asking for help from professional people, and interacting withsomegroups of people who are participating in emotional sensitivitytraining.Wholeheartedness, doing something without an eye to reward,and empathy are the main human qualitiesto improve socialinteraction. A good communication skill without these three qualitieswillbe worth nothing. So these three aspects should be integrated inone in orderto create a satisfactory relationship.Thereare two polarities in every person; the first one makes onehave a desireto affiliate and the other makes one wish to isolateoneself. A leaderof every institution, including an educationalinstitution, should place thetwo. motives in proportion. Humanorientation, rather than jobor commodity orientation, makes itpossiblefor a leader to see others' perspectives as considerations inreaching a certain goal.
