Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of character-based learning strategies in improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that teachers play a crucial role in shaping students’ character through modeling, habituation, and contextual approaches adapted to students’ needs. The applied learning strategies emphasize not only cognitive development but also the integration of spiritual, social, and emotional values. The main challenges in implementing these strategies include limited environmental support and inconsistency in applying character values outside the classroom. Nevertheless, through collaboration among teachers, parents, and the school environment, students’ religious character formation and learning motivation significantly improve. This research contributes to strengthening character education practices within the context of modern Islamic education.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to develop a seaweed cooperative business model based on the Cooperative and Mutual Enterprise Business Model Canvas (CME-BMC) to enhance the cooperative’s competitiveness and adaptive capacity in supporting small-scale farmers. The research utilizes a qualitative case study of a seaweed cooperative in West Java, integrating the CME-BMC with the VRIO, PESTEL, and SWOT frameworks through literature review, in-depth interviews, and structured questionnaires. The findings show that the current business model is aligned with cooperative principles, but it still has weaknesses that need to be strengthened for the cooperative to effectively compete and grow. The cooperative's key resources and capabilities include integrated post-harvest and processing facilities, experienced members, democratic governance, and effective management of the value chain across both upstream and downstream activities. The external environment presents both opportunities and challenges within the industry, including policy support, land allocation issues, climate risks, price fluctuations, and downstream regulations. Nine development strategies were formulated and translated into a new, more integrated and member-oriented business model. This study offers practical and theoretical contributions by demonstrating how the integration of the CME-BMC with strategic analysis can produce a more adaptive, sustainable, and competitive cooperative business model.

Abstract

This study aims to improve PT GPS’s business strategy by (1) examining the internal strengths and weaknesses, and external opportunities and threats; (2) formulating alternative strategies using SWOT; and (3) prioritizing strategies with the Advanced SWOT (A’WOT) method. Primary data were collected from nine purposively selected experts via interviews, questionnaires, and field observations. Secondary data came from company records, government publications, and industry reports. Analyses used VRIO and Porter’s Five Forces, followed by IFE and EFE matrices. The SWOT matrix generated strategies, and A’WOT determined priorities. The IFE-EFE placed PT GPS in Quadrant II (grow and build) of the IE matrix. Nine strategies emerged, with the top four priorities: (1) optimizing product quality and variety (ST1), (2) expanding market penetration via distribution optimization (SO1), (3) developing innovative product variations for new segments (SO2), and (4) enhancing monitoring and branding in distribution channels (WO1). PT GPS’s competitive position can be strengthened by focusing on product differentiation, expanding distribution reach, and continuous innovation. Improving branding and product monitoring will reinforce market presence and customer loyalty. Implementing these strategies in sequence will enable sustainable growth and resilience against competitive pressures in the meatball industry. This research enriches MSME strategy literature by integrating VRIO, Porter’s Five Forces, SWOT, and A’WOT for objective strategy prioritization in processed food markets. Keywords: A’WOT, meatball, positioning, product differentiation, SWOT.

Abstract

PT BPRS ABC has recorded strong financing growth in the MSME sector; however, this expansion has not been matched by improved credit quality, as indicated by a persistently high Non-Performing Financing (NPF) ratio. This imbalance threatens the company’s financial stability and long-term sustainability, underscoring the need for a targeted and sustainable business strategy to strengthen performance and manage risk. This research aims to formulate the right business strategy for PT BPRS ABC to improve business performance, particularly through controlling the risk of non-performing financing. The study employed a qualitative case study design. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with management and relevant divisions, supplemented by secondary data from financial reports and internal documents. Analytical frameworks, including RBV, VRIO, Porter’s Five Forces, IFE, EFE, IE, SWOT, and QSPM, were integrated to identify internal and external factors influencing business performance and to formulate appropriate strategic alternatives. The results of the study show that PT BPRS ABC has several internal strengths, including a commitment to strengthening financing analysis based on the 5C principle, a focus on productive financing for MSMEs, and the support of a relatively experienced remedial department. On the other hand, there remain internal weaknesses in the form of a suboptimal Early Warning System (EWS), weak post-disbursement monitoring, and inadequate quality of customer data. Externally, the main opportunities stem from government policy support for MSMEs and the use of Financial Information Service Systems (FISS), while threats include competition from digital banks and fintech, regulatory pressures, and property sector risks.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate community-based business strategies for micro, small, and medium enterprises in the garment and doll sectors in Caringin, Bogor, Indonesia. Although micro, small, and medium enterprises in this area have significant potential, many still perform suboptimally despite abundant resources and opportunities. This study uses a qualitative case study design and methodology that combines forum group discussions, questionnaires, and strategic analysis using the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats and quantitative strategic planning matrix. The research sample consists of 13 micro, small, and medium enterprises actors involved in the Caringin micro, small, and medium enterprises forum. The findings indicate that while micro, small, and medium enterprises have significant strengths in skilled labor and the quality of local raw materials, they face challenges in digital marketing, financial management, and limited production capacity. The formulated strategies include enhancing digital literacy, leveraging online platforms for marketing and sales, and developing products that leverage local design differentiation. The theoretical contribution of this study lies in applying participatory development theory to formulate community-based strategies for the micro, small, and medium enterprises sector, particularly in similar regions. Practically, this research provides more relevant and practical strategic guidance for micro, small, and medium enterprises to optimize their potential. This study fills a gap in the existing literature by providing new insights into the role of the community in formulating micro, small, and medium enterprises business strategies.
