Abstract

The primary challenge in the population domain is the presence of a large population with a relatively high growth rate. This study aims to ascertain the distribution of modern contraceptives and identify the variables influencing the selection of contraceptive methods among women of childbearing age. The research employed an analytical cross-sectional study design, utilizing bivariate analysis (chi-square test) and multivariate analysis (logistic regression test) for data analysis. The study used secondary data from the 2019 SKAP. The population and research sample were taken based on the cluster approach as an enumeration area. This study takes all women of childbearing age (15-49 years) based on selected clusters in South Sulawesi Province. Among the participants, 205 (25.6%) chose Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (MKJP), while 599 (74.4%) opted for Non-Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (Non-MKJP). Bivariate analysis revealed three variables significantly associated with the choice of contraceptive method: education level, parity, and husband's support (p-value < 0.05). In the logistic regression test utilizing the backward method, the Odds Ratio (OR) values were obtained: for parity (OR = 1.683), signifying that women with child parity >2 were 1.683 times more likely to use MKJP compared to those with parity 2; for husband's support (OR = 1.733), indicating that women receiving husband's support had 1.733 times the likelihood of using MKJP compared to those without husband's support; and for education level (OR = 2.008), suggesting that those with a higher education level were 2.008 times more likely to use MKJP compared to those with lower education. The sequence of related variables influencing contraceptive choice was education level, followed by husband's support, and then parity percentage.

Abstract

Medical malpractice has a long history in Indonesia, with fatal consequences for patients due to negligence from the health practitioner. This study aims to ensure legal certainty in pharmaceutical practice according to laws and regulations. Also, to provide criminal law sanctions for pharmacists in pharmaceutical practices that lead to criminal acts. The method used was qualitative empirical normative research with a literature study. This research was conducted qualitatively based on data triangulation which resulted from three ways: interview, participant to observation, and review of organizational records (document records). Data collection usually uses qualitative research observation, documentation, and interview methods. This study discusses legal provisions related to health and pharmaceutical services and interviews with ten people at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Regional General Hospital, Makassar, and five people from Wamena Regional General Hospital, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua. Our study exhibited that implementing a pharmacist's practice was based on the prevailing laws and regulations. The pharmaceutical practice in question starts from planning, procurement, storage, distribution, evaluation, and provision of drug information and monitoring of drug side effects. These practices are based on Government Regulation No. 51 of 2009 article 4. This regulation is stated to protect patients and the public in obtaining and stipulating pharmaceutical preparations and pharmaceutical services. In addition, to maintain and improve the quality of implementation of pharmaceutical work by using developments in science and technology as well as laws and regulations; and provide legal certainty for patients, communities, and pharmaceutical workers. In the criminal responsibility of pharmacists in pharmaceutical services that have resulted in illegal acts, there have not been cases that have reached court proceedings. Nevertheless, there are cases where actions that have resulted in criminal acts have occurred in the field. Still, mediation can resolve them to reach a consensus with unique mediation.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi mendorong transformasi sistem pelayanan kesehatan, termasuk penerapan Rekam Medis Elektronik (RME) sebagai pengganti rekam medis konvensional berbasis kertas.

Abstract

Background: The implementation of the Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) policy is part of the National Health Insurance (JKN) transformation aimed at improving equity and quality of inpatient services for BPJS Health participants. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effect of hospital managerial functions on KRIS policy implementation and BPJS patient satisfaction, as well as to examine the mediating role of KRIS implementation at RSUD dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The research was conducted at RSUD dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan in 2026 involving 100 BPJS inpatients selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. Results: The findings revealed that Hospital Management significantly affected BPJS Patient Satisfaction (β = -0.954; p < 0.001) and KRIS Policy Implementation (β = 0.799; p < 0.001). KRIS Policy Implementation also had a positive and significant effect on BPJS Patient Satisfaction (β = 1.358; p < 0.001). The R-Square values indicated that the model explained 68.4% of the variance in BPJS Patient Satisfaction and 63.8% of the variance in KRIS Policy Implementation. Furthermore, KRIS Policy Implementation was proven to act as a mediating variable with an indirect effect value of 1.085. Conclusion: KRIS policy implementation plays an important role in strengthening the influence of hospital managerial functions on BPJS patient satisfaction. Therefore, hospitals should strengthen managerial functions, improve facility readiness, and conduct continuous evaluations of KRIS implementation to enhance service quality and patient satisfaction.

Abstract

This study analyzes public perception of hospital dental polyclinic services in Indonesia through big data sentiment analysis of 3,075 tweets from the X platform (January–November 2024), using keywords like “dental hospitals” and “dental poly hospitals.” Employing a descriptive design, data was crawled via Google Colab, followed by preprocessing steps: duplicate removal, non-essential character cleanup, normalization, tokenization, stopword elimination, and stemming. The Naïve Bayes Classifier algorithm classified sentiments, revealing 61.54% negative sentiment (1,571 tweets) and 38.46% positive sentiment (982 tweets), with 73% model accuracy, 0.73 negative precision, and 0.90 negative recall. Negative sentiments highlighted issues, such as long waiting times, inadequate facilities, and BPJS-related administra- tive delays, while positive sentiments praised professional staff and comprehensive facilities. Field data from tweet analysis showed frequent complaints about procedural discomfort (e.g., “pain,” “pluck”) and appreciation for competent doctors. SWOT analysis, triangulated with multi-stakeholder assessments (hospital administrators, directors, dentists), yielded an IFAS score of 7.04 and an EFAS score of 6.84, indicating strong internal capabilities but operational inefficiencies. Strategic recommendations include optimizing workflows, standardizing services, and leveraging public awareness to enhance specialized dental care, addressing public dissatisfaction for sustainable service improvement.

Abstract

Papaya seeds (Carica papaya L.) and gandarusa leaves (Justicia gendarussa Burm.f.) are considered medicinal plants that can be used as natural male contraceptives. Papaya seeds contain alkaloids, triterpenoids, saponins, and papain. Meanwhile, the gandarusa leaves contain flavonoids. These compounds have the function of antifertility for men. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of papaya seeds (Carica papaya L.) ethanol extracts, gandarusa leaves (Justicia gendarussa Burm.f.), and its combination on motility, viability, and morphology of male mice spermatozoa (Mus musculus) most effective decrease concentration on motility, viability, and morphology of male mice spermatozoa (Mus musculus). This research was an experimental study. The samples of this study were 18 male mice with a body weight of 20-30 grams, aged 3-5 months, and were divided into six groups. The treatments given were control, papaya seed ethanol extract, gandarusa leaves ethanol extract, and its combinations to concentrations of P1 Na CMC1%, P2 (papaya seed 100mg/kgW), P3 (gandarusa leaf 50mg/kgW), P4 (papaya seed : gandarusa leaf 50:50 mg/kgW), P5 (papaya seed : gandarusa leaf 50:100 mg/ kgW), P6 (papaya seed : gandarusa leaf 100:50 mg/kgW). The extract was given for 35 days. On the 36th day, the mice were dissected to take their epididymis to observe the spermatozoa's quality (motility, viability, morphology). Those observations used a light microscope. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and LSD post hoc tests. This study resulted differences in P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, and P6 towards motility, viability, and morphology of spermatozoa (p< 0.05). The conclusion of this study showed that both single and combination ethanol extracts of papaya seeds and gandarusa leaves could reduce the motility, viability, and morphology of spermatozoa of male mice, and the effective dosage in reducing motility, viability, and morphology of spermatozoa is P3 gandarusa leaves 50mg/kgW.
