Abstract

Design thinking is an innovation methodology that combines skills, processes and mindset. Design thinking is becoming increasingly popular in education as a way to encourage students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Teachers and students can solve wicked problems creatively using design thinking. This research aims to determine the validity and practicality of an ethnoscience-based design thinking e-book. This research was conducted using walkthroughs and questionnaires. Validation data was analyzed using Cohen's Kappa while practicality data was analyzed using percentages. The results show that the ethnoscience-based design thinking textbook that was developed was said to be valid in aspects of design, systematics, substance and writing style. The textbooks being developed are also said to be very practical in terms of design, language, material and interest aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the diffusion process of innovation in coding- and Artificial Intelligence-based learning in primary education and to identify the factors influencing its implementation. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method. Data were obtained from various scientific sources, including books, national and international journal articles, and educational policy documents relevant to the research topic. Data analysis was conducted through stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results show that the integration of coding in learning can improve students’ computational thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. Meanwhile, the use of Artificial Intelligence enables the development of adaptive and personalized learning systems tailored to students’ learning needs. The diffusion process of technology-based learning innovation in schools occurs through stages of knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. The success of implementing this innovation is influenced by several factors, including teachers’ digital competence, the availability of technological infrastructure, and support from educational policies.

Abstract

This article examines in depth the development of the diffusion of innovation within the context of education. Diffusion of innovation is the process by which new ideas or practices are spread through certain communication channels within a social system over time. The diffusion of innovation theory developed by Everett M. Rogers serves as the primary foundation of this study, complemented by perspectives from other scholars in education and educational technology. This article discusses the basic concepts of diffusion of innovation, its key elements, categories of adopters, models of diffusion development, factors influencing the success of diffusion, as well as the challenges and opportunities of innovation diffusion in the digital era. The method used is a literature review (library research) with a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings indicate that the success of educational innovation diffusion largely depends on the interaction between the characteristics of the innovation, the quality of communication channels, the role of change agents, and the condition of the social system. In the digital era, social media and online learning platforms significantly accelerate the diffusion process; however, they do not always ensure deep and sustainable adoption.

Abstract

The Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework provides a theoretical model for studying how teachers use ICT in education. The interaction between content, pedagogy, and technology forms the core of what is called Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK), a widely used conceptual framework for informing teacher preparation and measuring teacher learning outcomes (Koh et al., 2010a; Mishra & Koehler, 2006; Niess, 2005). However, the TPACK framework faces certain difficulties, especially with regard to the instruments currently used to study TPACK. The aim of the literature in this article is to examine the development of the TPACK framework with a particular focus on TPACK assessment in the context of teacher preparation programs. This research is a literature review using the systematic literature review (SLR) method. In an effort to highlight currently available instruments and methods, the results of this study provide a discussion of the challenges of measuring TPACK as well as provide an overview of TPACK-based instruments and methods from the experience of preparatory teacher candidates.

Abstract

Teachers need to combine three sources of knowledge, technical knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and content knowledge in learning. The Literature study was used as a method to collect data and information related to this research topic. This study shows that the TPACK skills of science teachers in Indonesia still need improvement. Some of the factors that influence science teachers' TPACK skills include educational background, teaching experience, training, school accreditation, gender, age, and length of service.
