Abstract

One of the learning models that is currently strongly advised to be used in the learning process is Project Based Learning (PJBL). The purpose of this study is to ascertain how PJBL affects students' learning outcomes in the digestive system.  Students (n=61) from Muara Enim, Indonesia's class XI Science public senior high school served as the research subjects. A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group is the study methodology employed. Project assignments, surveys, and observation sheets served as the tools. The independent sample t-test in the statistical program for social science 28 (SPSS version 28) was used to assess learning outcomes data. With a gain of 33.6 and n-gain of 0.63, the study's findings show that using the PjBL learning paradigm enhances students' learning outcomes. PjBl can increase motivation, and as it uses real-world challenges, strong curiosity will impact learning outcomes.

Abstract

Background: National Assessment, including AKM, is designed to measure students' literacy and numeracy skills. However, many teachers find it difficult to develop AKM-based literacy questions due to lack of training. This training aims to improve teachers' understanding and skills in compiling literacy questions based on the AKM Framework through systematic training and mentoring. Methods: Phase I (Preliminary Study): observations, interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies were conducted to analyze teachers' knowledge related to AKM Framework literacy questions and prepare training materials. Phase II (Implementation): a workshop to provide understanding and practice in developing AKM Framework literacy questions with simulations and feedback. Phase III (Mentoring and Guidance): continuously assisting teachers in developing literacy questions. Phase IV (Evaluation): through monitoring, evaluation of training results, and follow-up for improvement. The target of this activity is 40 junior high school science teachers from the Palembang City Science MGMP, who are expected to be able to improve their pedagogical skills and become facilitators in schools. Evaluation was conducted through pre-test, post-test, question development assignments, and feedback questionnaires related to the training. Results: The post-test results showed an increase in teachers' understanding of AKM in the "very good" category reaching 36.8%. The responses of the training participants showed high satisfaction, especially in terms of design, duration, and method of delivering the material, with an average of 80-90% of participants giving positive assessments. Conclusion: This training is expected to not only support the implementation of AKM.

At the elementary school level, fine arts learning not only aims to hone fine motor skills, but also as a means of self-expression and cultural appreciation. The purpose of the study was to analyze how the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model based on Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) in fine arts learning can improve students' creativity in fine arts subjects. This type of research uses classroom action research (PTK). The research procedure consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques using observation and portopolio analysis. Data analysis with P = F: n x 100%. Based on classroom action research in class V SD Plus Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) Palembang in two cycles, the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model with a Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach proved effective in increasing student creativity, which was initially 37.70% (sufficient category) in the pre-cycle, increased to 61.46% (good) in cycle I, and reached 86, 88% (excellent) in cycle II, fulfilling all indicators of creativity achievement through the project of making a pencil case from woven jute rope that encourages original ideas, creative thinking skills, and active involvement of students according to their culture and experience, so that CRT-based PjBL is considered capable of creating a meaningful, inclusive, and optimal learning environment for the development of student creativity.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is a national educational innovation in Indonesia that promotes flexibility, contextualization, and student-centered learning. Despite its potential, the implementation of this curriculum faces various challenges, particularly in terms of teacher readiness and their perception of the new policy. This study examines the role of innovation attributes as defined by Everett Rogers’ diffusion of innovation theory in influencing the success of the Merdeka Curriculum’s adoption. The five attributes analyzed include relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability. Using a literature review approach, this analysis focuses on scholarly articles and research reports on the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia published between 2023 and 2025. Findings indicate that relative advantage and compatibility positively contribute to curriculum acceptance, while complexity remains a major obstacle at the practical level. Meanwhile, trialability and observability accelerate adoption at the school level by providing visible and evaluable outcomes. These results have practical implications for policymakers and educational institutions to design more effective implementation strategies, including teacher training and context-based adaptation approaches. By situating the Merdeka Curriculum within the framework of innovation diffusion, this article contributes to a deeper understanding of how policy adoption in education can be better adopted through alignment with innovation attributes.

Abstract

Teachers’ readiness to integrate Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) plays a pivotal role in preparing students to understand and practice sustainable living. This study examined the readiness of 232 in-service biology teachers in South Sumatra, comprising 142 novice teachers (with ≤10 years of experience) and 90 experienced teachers (with>10 years of experience). A descriptive-comparative quantitative design was employed, using two structured questionnaires to measure teachers’ perspectives on ESD and their Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). Findings revealed that teachers generally showed a strong commitment to ESD but only a moderate conceptual understanding. Within TPACK, attitudes were rated the highest, whereas technological and inquiry-based competencies were rated the lowest. Novice teachers scored higher than experienced teachers, while participation in environmental education training or prior teaching experience in related topics improved readiness. This study highlights the importance of continuous professional development in enhancing teachers’ technological and inquiry-oriented capacities. Strengthening these dimensions is crucial for effectively embedding ESD into biology teaching and science education more broadly. By addressing these gaps, the integration of ESD can move beyond awareness toward transformative learning that equips students with the skills and dispositions needed for sustainable futures.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine student errors and the factors that caused students to make mistakes in solving PISA-type math problems. Error analysis was carried out based on Newman's analysis through tests and interviews. This research was conducted in one of the junior high schools in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands, involving 26 students. Subjects were selected based on a purposive sampling technique with three considerations: academic ability, teacher recommendations, and student willingness. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The PISA math test questions tested consisted of change and relationship, space and shape, quantity and uncertainty, and data content. The results showed that reading errors were 40.21%, comprehension errors were 41.86%, transformation errors were 87.29%, process skill error is 90.26%, and the answer writing error is 88.46%. While uncertain and data is the content with the most significant error percentage, which is 82.31%. In general, errors were caused by students who cannot relate PISA questions to the material they usually study, and students were not accustomed to working on PISA questions.

Abstract

This research was conducted to improve students' learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning by using the Cooperative Listening Team learning model. The research method uses a class action research design consisting of two cycles, where one cycle consists of 1 meeting. The stages of each cycle consist of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students of SDN 244 Palembang, totaling 25 students, consisting of 11 male students and 14 female students. Data collection techniques used observation techniques, student learning outcomes tests, and interviews. This study shows that the learning outcomes of students in the pre-cycle get an average score of 60.22 then increase from 70.87 in cycle I to 78.70 in cycle II. The percentage of completeness has increased from 40% in the pre-cycle, then to 64% in cycle I and increased to 76% in cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the results of the study show that the use of the Cooperative Listening Team learning model can improve the learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN 244 Palembang.
