Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the 3M learning model (Imitating, Processing and Developing) on ​​the ability to write personal letters in class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Medan which consists of 11 classes with a total of 344 people. The sample in this study consisted of 2 classes, namely the control class and the experimental class. The control class (class VII-7) consisted of 30 people and the experimental class (VII-5) consisted of 30 people. The research method used is an experimental research method with the type of post-test only control group design using a quantitative approach. The mean post-test score of students in the control class was 51, which was in the less category, while the mean post-test value of students in the experimental class was 87.66, which was in the very good category and had fulfilled the KKM. Based on the results of the analysis, it is obtained t count = 14.754 and t table = 1.699, so that it is obtained if t count ˃ t table or 14.754 ˃ 1.699. So, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that the application of the 3 M Learning Model (Imitating, Processing, and Developing) has an effect on the ability to write personal letters for class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Medan.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the spelling mistakes and the causes of spelling mistakes in scientific articles of students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Department. By knowing this, students will comprise scientific papers that are good and correct, and in accordance with the rules. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The sources of research data were students' scientific articles of the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature, which are the products of team-based projects during Comparative Literature (fifth semester). The researcher chose four scientific articles to obtain the research results to be achieved or called the purposive sampling method. This research used an analytical method, namely the orthographic equivalent method, whose determining tool is writing with the concept of EYD and language errors. The results of this study are that students of the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature still often make Indonesian language mistakes in working on team-based project products in the form of scientific articles. This is due to the lack of understanding of students in the use of spelling in accordance with the rules. Then, students are less careful and lazy in checking the use of spelling. Therefore, students need to get training in writing (the use of spelling and Indonesian language rules) in order to become competent students in their fields according to the profile of graduates (research assistants, academics, and practitioners).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat adanya pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran AIR (Auditory, Intellectualy, Repetition) terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi oleh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 45 Medan. dalam penelitian ini populasi yang digunakan yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VIII dengan jumlah 191 siswa, dengan total 64 sampel penelitian yang terbagi menjadi 32 siswa untuk kelas kontrol dan 32 untuk kelas eksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dengan design penelitian two group post-test. Hasil dari penelitian ini serta kesimpulan yang di dapat adalah adanya peningkatan hasil menulis teks eksplanasi oleh siswa kelas VIII dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran AIR. Pada kelas kontrol dengan model konvensional nilai yang diperoleh berada pada klasifikasi cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 65,46. Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa kemampuan hasil menulis teks eksplanasi siswa belum dapat memenuhi kriteria ketuntatasan minimal yang telah ditentukan pihak sekolah yaitu 75. Sedangkan, kemampuan siswa kelas VIII dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran AIR (Auditory, Intellectualy, Repetition) dalam menulis teks eksplanasi berada pada klasifikasi baik dengan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh adalah 78, Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa dengan model pembelajaran AIR dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa menulis teks eksplanasi yang dibuktikan dengan tercapai nya nilai ketuntasan minimal yang ditetapkan dari pihak sekolah yaitu 75. Hal tersebut juga dapat dibuktikan dengan hasil uji thitung yang diuji adalah 6,50 dan ttabel sebesar 1,69, hal ini membuktikan bahwa hipotesis penelitian atau Ha diterima karena thitung (6,50) > ttabel (1,69). Model pembelajaran AIR (Auditory, Intellectualy, Repetition) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi oleh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 45 Medan.

Abstract

The research objective was to investigate the impact of the ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction) learning model on the ability of Grade VIII students at Galang 2 Public Middle School in writing film review texts. The population consists of 154 students in class VIII, with a sample of 30 people divided into the control and experimental groups. Researchers used the experimental method with a true experimental design and a quantitative approach. The instrument used is the essay test. The results explain 1) the ability to write film review texts for class VIII-C students (control group) at SMPN 2 Galang using conventional methods has a very low success rate, namely 52.63% of 30 students. 2) In contrast, the ability to write film review texts for class VIII-A students (experimental group) at SMPN 2 Galang using the ARIAS model has a very good success rate, reaching 91.93% of 30 students. In other words, the value of the ability to write film review text in the experimental group is greater than the control group. 3) The results of statistical analysis show that the calculated t value is 9.170 and the t table value is 1.67155. Because t count is higher than t table (9.170 > 1.67155), it can be concluded that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and (Ha) is accepted. This means that the use of the ARIAS learning model has a significant effect on the ability to write film review texts for Grade VIII students at SMPN 2 Galang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi ajar teks fabel berbasis media Lift the Flap Book bagi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 4 Medan guna meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap teks fabel. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya minat baca dan keterbatasan metode pengajaran konvensional yang tidak mampu menarik perhatian siswa. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengadaptasi model Borg & Gall yang meliputi tahap identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, perancangan produk, validasi, dan revisi desain. Media pembelajaran dikembangkan dalam bentuk leaflet digital menggunakan aplikasi Canva, dilengkapi ilustrasi, animasi, dan elemen interaktif untuk meningkatkan pengalaman belajar. Hasil validasi dari ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru mata pelajaran menunjukkan bahwa media ini layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran teks fabel. Dengan penggunaan Lift the Flap Book, siswa menjadi lebih aktif, antusias, dan terbantu dalam memahami struktur dan isi teks fabel secara mendalam. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan media pembelajaran visual dan interaktif dapat menjadi solusi efektif dalam menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di era digital.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research is motivated by the lack of variation in teaching materials used in the Syntax course. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials for the Syntax course based on Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) assisted by Flip PDF Professional. Methodology: The research method is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data collection was carried out through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and literature studies. Main Findings: CTL-based teaching materials (incorporating elements of eight ethnic groups in North Sumatra) assisted by Flip PDF Professional in the Syntax course are effective in the learning process. This is supported by the validation of material experts, 93.3% with a very valid category, and media experts 95% with a very valid category. As many as 87.5% of students gave positive responses regarding the teaching materials that have been developed. Novelty/Originality of this study: Based on this, it can be concluded that CTL-based Syntax teaching materials assisted by Flip PDF Professional can be used as an alternative teaching material for the Syntax course to improve learning outcomes and student activity in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Cooperative Script terhadap Kemampuan Menyajikan Berita pada Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan. Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Medan, 2024. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Cooperative Script terhadap kemampuan menyajikan berita pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII yang berjumlah 105 siswa. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 50 orang yang terbagi dalam dua kelas yaitu kelas kontrol sebanyak 25 siswa dan kelas eksperimen sebanyak 25 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen posttest-only control design, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Melalui pengolahan data diperoleh hasil penelitian ini yaitu 1) kemampuan menyajikan berita siswa tanpa menggunakan model Cooperative Script memperoleh skor rata-rata 68,4 dengan kategori cukup. 2) Kemampuan menyajikan berita siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Script memperoleh skor rata-rata 84,8 dengan kategori baik. Pada pengujian hipotesis uji-t diperoleh nilai t hitung sebesar 8,7187 dan t tabel dengan taraf signifikan a= 0,05 dan n= 25 sebesar 1,317. Dengan demikian dapat dinyatakan hipotesis penelitian diterima. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran Cooperative Script memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menyajikan berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of the characters and describe the implementation of research in learning Indonesian at school. The research method used is descriptive method with qualitative research. The approach used is a behavioristic psychology approach. The data source used is a novel Kami Bukan Sarjana Kertas by J. S Khairen. So the development of the characters in the novel is Ogi who is the main character in the novel Kami Bukan Sarjana Kertas by J.S. Khairen thus became a central figure. Ogi's character is a developing character based on words, actions, physical depictions of characters, and direct lighting. Ogi is considered a developing character because there are changes and developments in the character that appear in line with the development of the events or incidents narrated in the story at the beginning of the story. Ogi is a lazy person, but after experiencing many things, Ogi is determined to change for the better. The second character that the researcher analyzed, namely Gala, is a supporting character in the novel Kami Bukan Sarjana Kertas by J.S. Khairen. Gala has the character of a protagonist. At first, Gala's character was a fighter who had a strong determination to succeed, but due to several things that didn't match her expectations, Gala became selfish and disobedient. However, in the next arc, Gala decides to obey and not be selfish anymore. The third figure that the researcher analyzes is Ayah Gala. Gala's father is a supporting character in the novel Kami Bukan Sarjana Kertas by J.S. Khairen. Gala's father has an antagonistic nature. A gala father likes to impose his will on others without realizing that what has been done to his son is gala. But in the end, Gala's father changed and realized that Gala had been under pressure all this time.

Abstract

Writing an effective job application letter requires a deep understanding of the syntactic structure of the Indonesian language. This article aims to examine the role of syntax in forming effective sentences in job application letters. The research was conducted through a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data sources were obtained from various journals, articles, and relevant books on syntax, effective sentences, and the structure of application letters. The results of the study indicate that syntactic elements such as subjects, predicates, objects, complements, and adverbs play a central role in forming communicative, logical, and professional sentences. Common errors such as inappropriate sentence structure, incorrect use of conjunctions, non-standard diction, and ambiguity and inaccuracy of punctuation interfere with the effectiveness of communication in application letters. Therefore, the application of correct syntactic rules not only improves linguistic quality but also strengthens the professional image of applicants.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the syntactic structure and function in a news text containing the statement of the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) regarding the case of a specialist medical education (PPDS) student at Padjadjaran University (UNPAD). The focus of this research is on identifying clauses, phrases, and sentence patterns, including syntactic errors found in the online news article. A descriptive qualitative method was used with a syntactic analysis approach. The results show that the news text contains a variety of simple and complex clause structures with syntactic functions that serve to deliver informative and persuasive messages. However, several syntactic errors were also found, such as ineffective sentence construction, phrase misplacement, and ambiguous meanings. These findings highlight the importance of syntactic accuracy in news writing to ensure clarity and precision of information. This research is expected to contribute to the field of syntax studies and help improve language quality in mass media writing.
