Abstract

National education transformation demands the strengthening of human resources (HR) with character, adaptability, and technological literacy. This article develops and tests the AI-Tree HR Model, a digital-based personality assessment system that integrates the HR Tree Personality with artificial intelligence. This model is built on the philosophy of the HR Tree Model (Ramly, 2023), which describes human development through three main structures: roots (values and spirituality), trunk (competence and mindset), and fruit/leaves (behavior and work results). This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE framework and Agile Software Development principles. The research subjects consisted of 582 respondents (teachers, students, and principals) in a school environment who participated in the digital assessment based on the AI-Tree HR Personality System. Analysis was conducted using the Multi-Stage Weighted Index (MSWI) method on three main dimensions: ease of use, usability, and accuracy. The results show that the AI-Tree HR Personality system has high content validity and excellent reliability, with a total feasibility index of 92.7% (very feasible). AI integration improves the accuracy of assessment results, provides adaptive learning recommendations, and accelerates the process of mapping the character and potential of educators and students. Conceptually, this research expands the paradigm of local human resources, which are based on values and spirituality, with the support of AI technology. Practically, the implementation of the AI-Tree HR Model will strengthen Garuda School's position as a model for national education transformation based on character, values, and technology towards the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to map evidence on HRM and HRD in Islamic educational institutions and to formulate a multilevel conceptual framework based on Tree HR to read the conceptual interconnections among values, competencies, character, institutional context, and educational outcomes. Design/methods/approach – The research used a systematic scoping review based on PRISMA-ScR. The search was conducted in Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and secondary searching for the period from 2010 to 2025. From 151 records, 4 duplicates were removed, 147 records were screened, 56 were excluded, and 91 studies were analyzed through charting, thematic synthesis, methodological characterization, and mapping to the Tree HR components. Findings – The findings show an increase in publications from 2023 to 2025, with a peak in 2025 of 38 studies or 41.8%. The highest thematic concentration was in Trunk, namely competencies and HRD, which appeared in 62 studies, as well as Fruits/Leaves, namely performance, service quality, and educational outcomes, in 61 studies. Roots appeared in 44 studies, whereas Personality/Character appeared in 34 studies. The main gaps include weak multilevel testing, heterogeneity of indicators, the dominance of non-causal designs, and limited instrument validity across contexts. Research implications – This framework can be used as an initial tool for reflection and diagnosis of human resources in madrasahs, pesantren, integrated Islamic schools, and Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKI), particularly for training planning, performance assessment, career development, and the formulation of human resource policy indicators for Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of work motivation, job transfer, and training on the job performance of Indonesian civil servants (ASN) at the Customs and Excise Operational Facilities Base, Type B Sorong, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. A quantitative explanatory design was applied using a census approach involving all active ASN employees (n = 77). Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS.  The results show that work motivation, job transfer, and training have positive and significant effects on job satisfaction, while job satisfaction positively and significantly affects job performance. Moreover, all three predictors also have direct positive and significant effects on job performance, with training identified as the strongest predictor. Indirect-effect testing confirms that job satisfaction significantly mediates the relationships between motivation, job transfer, and training and job performance, indicating complementary partial mediation. Practically, the findings underscore the importance of competency-based job transfers, relevant training that supports transfer to operational duties, and strategies to enhance motivation to strengthen both job satisfaction and performance.

Abstract

Distance education requires a support service system capable of addressing limitations in interaction, student heterogeneity, and dependence on technology. Although service quality and staff technological competence have been extensively studied in higher education, research specifically integrating these two aspects into a model of student satisfaction and loyalty in distance education service centers remains limited. This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality and employees’ technological skills on student satisfaction and loyalty at the Open University Service Center (SALUT) of PT Dwi Guna Cipta Nusantara, positioning satisfaction as an intervening variable. This study applies a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 270 respondents who utilize SALUT services. Data were collected using a close-ended questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that both service quality and employees’ technological skills have a positive, significant effect on customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction significantly affects student loyalty and fully mediates the influence of service quality and employees’ technological skills on loyalty. However, employees' technological skills show no direct effect on loyalty. This study concludes that customer satisfaction is a key mechanism in building student loyalty; therefore, strengthening service quality and technological competence is an important strategy in managing distance education. For future research, it is recommended to employ a longitudinal design or mixed method approaches, expand the scope across institutions, and incorporate variables like trust, perceived value, student engagement, and institutional image to build a more comprehensive model.
