Abstract

The research aims to a mapping of nutrient status available phosphate and total phosphate in the Aek Simare Irrigation Area Laguboti District Toba Samosir Regency. This research was conducted at the Testing Laboratory of Agricultural Technology Research Center in North Sumatera Province. Which began in Mey to June 2019. The method used is the Free Grid Survey detailed level survey and analysis of nutrient data available phosphate by Bray I method, total phosphate by acid destruction method, and then interpret to the map nutrient status. The result of research showing that status available phosphate classified by 3 statuses such as medium (3,99 ha), high (44,26 ha), and very high (71,75 ha). Total phosphate classified in 4 nutrient status such as low (0,004 ha), medium (67,37 ha), high (45,316 ha) and very high (7,31 ha). Available phosphate and total phosphate are very related to increasing rice production in the Aek Simare Irrigation Area Laguboti District Toba Samosir Regency, Northern of Sumatra, Indonesia                          REFERENCES BPS Toba Samosir. 2018. Abstract

The aims of this study to determine: The effect of kinds attractants and time of wrapping on to control of percentage of fruit fly attacks which determined the guava quality. This research was conducted in Durin Jangak Village, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency from May to July 2019. This research was conducted using a randomized block design method with three factors: time, wrapping, attractant. The result of this research showed that the treatment by using the white plastic wrapping and attractant traps obtained the highest fruit diameter is 10.23 cm and the lowest treatment with no packaging and without attractant traps is 7.40 cm. In the treatment by using the white plastic wrapping and attractant traps obtained the highest fruit weight is 586 grams and the lowest treatment using without wrapping and attractant traps is 165 grams. At the observation of the highest trapped fruit flies in the treatment without wrapping and attractant traps that were 961 fruit flies and the lowest trapped fruit flies were white plastic wrapping treatments and attractant traps that were 790 fruit flies. In the treatment without wrapping and attractant traps, wrapping gauze and attractant traps obtained the highest percentage of fruit attack, namely 100% and treatment of white plastic wrapping and attractant traps obtained the lowest fruit attack, consist of 33%.

Abstract

Rice is an important food crop as the main source of carbohydrates. In Tountimomor Village, West Kakas Subdistrict, Menado, Northern Sulawesi which detection of rice production is disrupted by pest attacks. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of color traps in attracting insects on rice plants as an alternative environmentally friendly control. Using a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 4 treatments (yellow, blue, red, and transparent/control traps), each trap was set on 5 plots. Trapped insects were identified in the laboratory. Results showed yellow traps were most effective with an average of 59 insects, followed by blue (42.4) and red (28.6). Color traps can be an effective and safe insect control solution in paddy plantations in Menado.
