Abstract

Everyone wants to have an attractive and beautiful appearance, especially women. Beauty is a necessity for women because it can support everyone's self-confidence. Basically, beauty is sufficient, everyone has their own perception of true beauty. Efforts to reflect one's beauty can be done with cosmetics, both care cosmetics and decorative cosmetics. For some people, cosmetic care means efforts to care for facial skin, so that skin is healthy and bright through the use of facial soap, moisturizer, and serum and vitamins for the face. This type of research is a type of experimental research. Data collection techniques in this research include observation and documentation using the burn technique (X1) for oily facial skin. The results were compared with the application of mixing foundation without the burn technique (X2) and this was also reinforced using comments. the average panelist ratings are not aligned in the two groups. When applying mixing foundation using the X1 burn technique for oily skin, the average score for the resistance indicator was 100% in the long-lasting category, the smoothness indicator obtained an average of 85% in the smooth category and the panelists' favorite indicator obtained an average of 85% like category

Abstract

Abstract: Learning at SMK Beauty faces various challenges, such as the need for learning media relevant to industry needs, inappropriate learning strategies, and low student motivation. To overcome this challenge, this study develops and tests the practicality of the e-module flipped book based on employability skill learning. This media is designed to improve students' technical competence and work skills as spa therapies relevant to the industrial world. The research uses the ADDIE development method and involves validators and ten small class students at SMKN 6 Padang as practical test subjects. The study results show that the e-module has a high level of practicality. Validators gave an average rating of 86.25% in the convenience category, while students gave an average rating of 87% in the convenience category. This e-module is considered easy to use, efficient in learning time, and visually appealing. In addition, integrating employability skills in flip-book-based learning encourages the development of students' communication, teamwork, and time management skills. Thus, this e-module has the potential to be an innovative solution to improve the competence of Spa Therapies students of Beauty Vocational School.Keywords: Flipped Book, Employability Skill Learning, Spa Therapies, Practicality, Beauty Vocational School

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of student understanding in the online learning process through the e-learning platform in the Research Methodology course and the absence of an evaluation of the effectiveness of using the e-learning platform in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to determine the evaluation of the e-learning platform in the Research Methodology course using the CIPP evaluation model which includes Context, Input, Process, and Product. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the e-learning platform has a positive impact on Research Methodology learning. Although all aspects are in the good category, the percentage value of each aspect is still close to the lower limit of the category, so there is still room for further improvement to increase the effectiveness of learning as a whole.

Abstract

The salon industry in Padang City is experiencing rapid development along with the increasing public awareness of self-care and appearance. In an increasingly fierce competitive situation, service quality is a key factor in determining customer satisfaction and their loyalty. This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality provided by Elegant Salon on customer satisfaction. The approach used in this research is quantitative with descriptive and explanatory designs. The research sample consisted of 100 customers selected by purposive sampling, and data were collected through a questionnaire that measured service quality based on the five dimensions of SERVQUAL (reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and physical evidence) and the level of customer satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression tests. The results showed that service quality has a positive and significant influence on the level of customer satisfaction, with the dimensions of reliability and empathy being the most influential factors. The implication of this research is to provide recommendations to Elegant Salon to improve service quality, especially in dimensions that have a major effect on customer satisfaction, in order to retain customers and increase competitiveness in a competitive market.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the effect of promotion on purchasing behavior of Make Over brand makeup products among students of the Department of Cosmetology and Beauty at Padang State University. The research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through a Likert Scale-based questionnaire distributed online, with a proportional sampling technique. Validity and reliability tests were conducted using SPSS, followed by product moment correlation analysis to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that the promotion carried out by the Make Over company had an average score of 73.17%, while the purchasing behavior of students had an average score of 69.18%, both of which were in the moderate category. Correlation analysis shows a significant relationship between promotion and purchasing behavior with a correlation value of r = 0.602. Hypothesis testing confirms that promotion has a significant effect on purchasing behavior (t count = 8.617> t table = 2.000). This study confirms the importance of the right promotional strategy in influencing consumer behavior, as well as the need for students to consider rational factors in purchasing cosmetic products to maximize their use.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of TikTok advertisements on the purchasing interest in skincare products among female students at SMK Perwira Negara. With the increasing use of social media, TikTok has become an effective marketing platform. The aim of this research is to understand how advertisements affect skincare purchasing decisions and the challenges faced by students regarding product knowledge. The methodology used is a survey with a quantitative approach, where the population consists of female students who use skincare products. The sample was taken using purposive sampling, with a questionnaire as the data collection instrument. Data analysis was conducted statistically to test the hypothesis regarding the influence of TikTok advertisements. The results show that TikTok advertisements have a significant impact on the purchasing interest in skincare products. Influencers and creative content on TikTok can capture students' attention and alter their perceptions of the products. These findings emphasize the importance of marketing strategies through social media, where attractive and informative advertisements can enhance the desire to purchase. This research recommends that companies optimally utilize digital platforms to reach young consumers, considering the significant role of social media in current marketing.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to enhance learning and critical thinking abilities of Cosmetology and Beauty students in e-commerce courses through the implementation of interactive e-commerce e modules. This study uses a quasi-experimental approach with control groups for the pretest and posttest. Data collection was carried out using instruments in the form of open questionnaires and tests. The study's data analysis method is quantitative descriptive analysis, differentiation power analysis using T Test and qualitative descriptive analysis. The independent sample t test findings describe a Sig (2 Tailed) greater in the experimental class compared to the control class, it can be inferred that there is a substantial difference between the two groups. The overall findings support the usage of the e-module in e-commerce courses because it has been shown to enhance critical thinking abilities and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to create an e-module for beauty and makeup research. It places its focus on evaluating the practicality of the e-module through the utilization of the meta-creative strategy approach. This evaluation is carried out by assessing it with two distinct groups, which are lecturers and students. The outhor employs a systematic approach in evaluating the e-module with the meta-creative strategy. The primary criteria for assessment include ease of media usage, time efficiency, interpretation ability and equvalency. The analysis results indicate a high level of practicality for the e-module with meta-creative strategy used in this learning process. The lecturer and students both rated it highly, with scores of 0,92 and 0.87 respectively. These score reflect the favorable reception from both groups of stakeholders. These findings lend support to the concept of meta-creativity e-module developments and underscore the potential of educational technology in enhancing the learning experience.

Abstract

AbstrakLatar belakang kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) berkaitan dengan kondisi sumber belajar tekstual yang ada belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan kelas digital yang dinamis. Selain itu, asesmen dan evaluasi pembelajaran yang belum melibatkan teknologi digital secara optimal berdampak pada kurangnya akurasi dalam mengukur perkembangan kompetensi siswa. Tujuan dari kegiatan PKM yang diwujudkan dalam bentuk pelatihan adalah meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam konteks digitalisasi sumber belajar, asesmen, dan evaluasi dengan menggunakan ChatGPT. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi dan praktik. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 24 Agustus 2024. Peserta pelatihan adalah guru SMPN 9 Payakumbuh yang berjumlah 31 orang. Latar belakang keahlian peserta mencakup semua mata pelajaran seperti Pendidikan Agama dan Budi Pekerti, Bahasa Indonesia, Matematika, IPA, IPS, Bahasa Inggris, PPKn, Seni Budaya, dan Informatika. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diawali dengan tahap perencanaan yang mencakup koordinasi terkait kebutuhan pelatihan dan sasaran pelatihan. Tahap pelaksanaan diawali dengan proses penyampaian materi dan diskusi serta dilanjutkan proses demonstrasi dan praktik dalam konteks digitalisasi sumber belajar, asesmen dan evaluasi berbasis ChatGPT. Tahapan terakhir pelatihan adalah evaluasi yang mengukur capaian kegiatan pelatihan. Hasil pelatihan mendeskripsikan bahwa peserta dapat mengikuti kegiatan dengan penuh antusias. Selanjutnya, peserta juga dapat memenuhi beberapa indicator ketercapaian kegiatan pelatihan antara lain mampu melakukan proses digitalisasi sumber belajar dalam bentuk modul dan dan buku elektronik. Selanjutnya, peserta juga mampu Menyusun instrument asesmen dan evaluasi dengan menggunakan Chat GPT. Beberapa indicator tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa tujuan pelaksanaan pelatihan dapat tercapai dengan baik. Rekomendasi untuk kegiatan ini adlaah agar pelatihan dapat dilaksanakan secara berkelanjutan agar hasil pelatihan dapat diimplementasikan dengan maksimal. Kata kunci: asesmen; evaluasi; ChatGPT; sumber belajar AbstractThe Community Partnership Program (PKM) addresses the limitations of existing textual learning resources in meeting the needs of dynamic digital classrooms. Additionally, assessment and evaluation have not yet fully integrated digital technology, resulting in less accurate measurements of students' competencies. The PKM program aims to improve teachers' skills in digitalizing learning resources, assessment, and evaluation using ChatGPT. Training methods included lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. This training activity was conducted on August 24, 2024. The participants, 31 teachers from SMPN 9 Payakumbuh, covered various subjects like Religious Education, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Informatics. The training began with planning, followed by material delivery, discussions, and practical sessions focused on digitalizing learning resources and using ChatGPT for assessments. The final evaluation measured the program's success. Participants were enthusiastic, meeting key objectives such as converting learning materials into e-books and developing assessment tools with ChatGPT. These outcomes indicate the training's success. Abstract

AbstrakGamaran merupakan salah satu Korong yang terdapat di Nagari Salibutan. Berdasarkan observasi di lapangan terdapat hutan sosial yang luasnya mencapai 2.800 hektar di Korong Gamaran yang membudidayakan tanaman asam kandis. Asam kandis ini biasanya diolah oleh Kelompok Usaha Perhutanan Sosial (KUPS) Kandis Bundo Gamaran. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan ketua KUPS Kandis Bundo Gamaran, untuk saat ini KUPS hanya menghasilkan produk olahan buah asam kandis dalam bidang kuliner dan olahan bumbu. Diketahui bahwa buah asam kandis memiliki aktivitas antioksidan sehingga bisa dikembangkan dalam bidang kecantikan seperti masker tradisional untuk perawatan kulit wajah. Namun KUPS Kandis Bundo Gamaran ini belum memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam hal tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan terhadap KUPS Kandis Bundo Gamaran tentang proses pembuatan masker tradisional berbahan dasar asam kandis sehingga bisa menghasilkan inovasi produk turunan dari asam kandis yang memiliki nilai jual yang lebih. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi dan praktik. Peserta pelatihan adalah anggota KUPS Bundo Gamaran yang berjumlah 20 orang. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diawali dengan tahap perencanaan yang mencakup koordinasi terkait kebutuhan pelatihan dan sasaran pelatihan. Tahap pelaksanaan diawali dengan proses penyampaian materi dan diskusi serta dilanjutkan proses demonstrasi dan praktik pembuatan masker tradisional berbahan dasar asam kandis. Tahapan terakhir pelatihan adalah evaluasi yang mengukur capaian kegiatan pelatihan. Hasil pelatihan menggambarkan bahwa peserta dapat mengikuti kegiatan dengan penuh antusias. Selanjutnya, peserta juga dapat memenuhi beberapa indikator ketercapaian kegiatan pelatihan antara lain memahami manfaat buah asam kandisi dalam bidang kecantikan. Selanjutnya, peserta juga memahami dan mampu membuat masker tradisonal. Beberapa indikator tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa tujuan pelaksanaan pelatihan dapat tercapai dengan baik. Kata kunci: KUPS Kandis Bundo Gamaran; buah asam kandis; masker tradisional. Abstract Gamaran is one of the Korongs in Nagari Salibutan. Based on observations in the field, there is a social forest covering an area of 2,800 hectares in Korong Gamaran which cultivates kandis acid plants. Kandis acid is usually processed by the Kandis Bundo Gamaran Social Forestry Business Group (KUPS). Based on the results of an interview with the chairman of KUPS Kandis Bundo Gamaran, currently KUPS only produces processed kandis acid fruit products in the culinary and spice processing sectors. It is known that kandis tamarind fruit has antioxidant activity so it can be developed in the beauty sector such as traditional masks for facial skin care. However, KUPS Kandis Bundo Gamaran does not yet have the knowledge and skills in this matter. This service activity aims to provide knowledge and skills to KUPS Kandis Bundo Gamaran regarding the process of making traditional masks made from kandis acid so that they can produce innovative products derived from kandis acid which have greater selling value. The training methods used are lectures, discussions, demonstrations and practice. The training participants were 20 members of KUPS Bundo Gamaran. This training activity begins with a planning stage which includes coordination regarding training needs and training targets. The implementation phase begins with the process of delivering material and discussions and continues with the demonstration process and practice of making traditional masks made from kandis acid. The final stage of training is evaluation which measures the achievements of training activities. The results of the training illustrate that participants were able to participate in the activities with enthusiasm. Furthermore, participants can also fulfill several indicators of achievement of training activities, including understanding the benefits of kandisi tamarind fruit in the field of beauty. Furthermore, participants also understand and are able to make traditional masks.
