Abstract

Harapan forest is the remaining lowland tropical forest in Sumatra which represents about 20 percent of the biodiversity on the island of Sumatra. There are several Rasbora species found in the Sungai Kapas Tengah River Refuge in the Harapan Jambi Forest that the relationship is not yet known. This research aims to know kinship and genetic distance several species of Rasbora from Sungai Kapas Tengah, Hutan Harapan Jambi. The method in this research using secondary data from the NCBI website ((National Center for Biotechnology Information). The data taken, namelynucleotide sequence from the Cytochrome Oxidase I (COI) gene in mitochondrial DNA. The Rasbora species analyzed were Rasbora from identification results in the Sungai Kapas Tengah River Refuge, Harapan Jambi Forest, consisting of, Rasbora bankanensis, R. caudimaculata, R. cf. sumatrana, R. dusonensis, R. elegans, R. sumatrana, and R. trilineata. Based on phylogenetic analysis, the location of the branch length in each Rasbora species, the closest kinship is owned byR. sumatrana and R. elegans species. Based on the results of genetic distance analysis, the closest genetic distance was the species R. elegans and R. sumatrana, with a distance value of 0.023 (2.3%). While the farthest genetic distance between R. bankanensis and R. caudimaculata, with a distance value of 0.172 (17.2%).Based on research results It can be concluded that R. bankanensis has a greater kinship and genetic distance value than other Rasbora species, so that this species forms a separate group. Meanwhile, 5 other species have kinship and the value of close genetic distance so that these species are united in the same group. For future researchers, it is hoped that some additional families of fish species will be analyzed for phylogenetic analysis in Sungai Kapas, Hutan Harapan Jambi, so that they can find out the relationship of several other species.

Abstract

Rabbits are a group of animals that are very popular and enjoy doing the community. Rabbits in general have high biological and economic potential to produce quality meat, skin and hair, as well as pets (ornamental) and as modern business farming. Rabbits are well known to the people of Indonesia and developed mostly for rabbit farming. To obtain information about this, this study will discuss the objective of knowing the morphometric characteristics and genetic distances of rabbits. The parameters observed were head length, head width, ear length, ear width, chest circumference, chest width, chest width, humerus bone length, radius-ulna bone length, tibia bone length, and body length. The results of body variables measurement in FG rabbits had a higher mean for body size PK (12.64 cm), PTL (13.59 cm), LTL (6.47 cm), PH (9.52 cm), PRU (8, 95 cm) and PB (41.97 cm) for body size compared to other families. Genetic distance shows that it has a fairly close genetic distance (0.63106), while the farthest genetic distance is found in Rexb rabbits and ES rabbits, which is as far as 6.96749. Estimation of genetic distances and tree phenogram construction results from the estimation of kinship between other rabbit clumps.

Abstract

A Watershed is a land area that is an ecosystem unit with rivers and their tributaries that function to accommodate, store, and drain water that comes from rainfall to lakes or seas naturally, whose boundaries on land are topographical and separator boundary in the sea up to the watering area which is still affected by land activities. Characteristics and ecological conditions of the watershed environment are influenced by changes in spatial use patterns with reduced land cover in the watershed area will affect watershed conditions. Human intervention with various activities, especially economic, industrial and residential activities in the upstream to downstream watershed areas affects the water cycle (hydrological cycle) as well as the quality and quantity of the aquatic ecology of the watershed environment. Efforts to maintain the availability of green open space in the watershed area is one of the important things to be able to maintain and maintain water ecology in the Cisadane watershed in addition to various efforts to maintain the water quality of the watershed so that various unique aquatic biota can still be maintained and well maintained. The involvement of local governments, stakeholders, and the community is one of the most important things in preserving and maintaining the environmental conditions of watersheds.

Abstract

The Musi Watershed as a priority watershed is also contained in the Decree of the Minister of Forestry No. SK.328/Menhut-II/2009. The Musi watershed with an area of about a million ha is one of the 108 watersheds in Indonesia that was designated by the Minister of Forestry Decree No. SK.328/MenhutII/2009 as a priority watershed because of its critical condition. This condition is indicated by the area of critical land with a moderately critical to very critical category which reaches 1.7 million ha. Another indication is that the remaining forest cover in South Sumatra is 1,346.8 ha (± 15.6% of the total area of South Sumatra). Musi watershed is simply an area unit that drains water to the same point which is influenced by various ecosystems in it, such as Peatland is a unique ecosystem that has economic value, ecological value, and environmental function, and downstream there is a Mangrove ecosystem and Estuaries, this ecosystem from ecological and environmental functions, among others, has a high biodiversity value, a hydrological function in the management of storage and release of water, as well as a carbon storage function. South Sumatra has a peat area of 14 million ha or 16.3% of the total area, and this condition is one of the potential natural resources to be managed and utilized for the benefit and welfare of the entire community.
