Abstract

The background of this research is that some children have inhibited creativity development because they have difficulty in conveying ideas and concepts during the learning process. Some children are less interested in creative activities. The objectives of this study are: 1) to determine the creativity of early childhood through project-based learning strategies using used materials at KB Mutiara Bunda Bumiayu; 2) to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors of early childhood creativity through project-based learning strategies using used materials at KB Mutiara Bunda Bumiayu. This study uses qualitative research with a survey design. Primary data sources were obtained from early childhood group B. Data collection used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity testing used data credibility with technical triangulation. Data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive. The results of the study showed that: 1) early childhood group B at KB Mutiara Bunda Bumiayu has creativity in making underwater decorations using used materials through a project-based learning model. Children have imagination in making underwater decorations using used materials, such as: used cardboard, used styrofoam, glue, white paper, small stones, pictures of fish, and plastic grass. Children dare to try making underwater decorations using used materials. Children can explore underwater conditions through TV shows and YouTube. Children can turn used materials into underwater decorations. 2) Supporting factors for the development of children's creativity, namely children get motivation, direction, materials, and tools to make underwater decorations from teachers. 3) Inhibiting factors for the development of children's creativity, namely children need a lot of time to express ideas in decorating the underwater using used materials. The suggestion of this study is that children should be able to utilize used materials, so that they get works that can increase their creativity. Children should be more active in learning through project-based learning strategies using used materials.

Abstract

Creativity for students is one of the foundations for children to be able to solve problems, think out of the box, and explore something new. All of that can be capital for children's success, whatever field they choose in the future. The low creativity of students at SD Negeri Mas can be seen from the results of the 2023 Education Quality Report which concluded that in students who are unable to link concepts, come up with ideas or concepts related to the material they have received, so that they cannot develop independent students in learning and creative in dealing with a problem according to the objectives of learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) and edupreneurship insights on student creativity at SD Negeri Tanjung Mas, Semarang City. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method. Data collection techniques are carried out by surveys in the form of questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The questionnaire and observation guidelines are compiled using the creativity theory framework. The results of the study indicate that the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) and edupreneurship insight partially and together have a significant positive effect on student creativity. In addition, the results of the study also show that the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) and edupreneurship insight are effective in increasing student creativity. As educators, we must be able to arouse student creativity which is not only influenced by the quality of learning but other factors can also affect student creativity.

Abstract

The complexity of parenting in the current digital era requires web-based intervention innovation to provide attentive care that impacts the quality of care. This study examined the effectiveness of a web-based parenting intervention in improving mindful parenting among parents of elementary school–aged children. Fifty-seven participants joined the intervention program with parent-population characteristics (fathers and mothers) living with children aged between 7 and 12 years old. The instrument consisted of pretest-posttest mindful parenting scale. This quasi-experimental research used one group pretest-posttest group design. The results indicate a substantial enhancement in mindful parenting scores post-intervention (Z = −3.544; p = 0.000), with the average score increasing from 2.735 to 2.889. A Cohen’s d of 0.44 indicates a moderate effect size with meaningful practical significance. Dimension-level analyses reveal significant improvements in three dimensions listening with empathy, understanding and acceptance, and self-regulation. In the other two dimensions, namely emotional regulation and compassion, did not show significant changes. The understanding and acceptance dimension exhibits the greatest impact, with the highest mean increase and the largest effect size (d = 0.638). These findings indicate that the web-based intervention effectively enhances the cognitive aspects of mindful parenting but remains less optimal in addressing affective components that require more intensive emotional practice. This study offers important implications for the development of digital parenting programs and provide directions for future intervention research.

Abstract

Abstract. This study is motivated by the low emotional intelligence and social interaction skills of eleventh-grade students at SMA Institut Indonesia Semarang, indicated by difficulties in recognizing and managing emotions, low self-confidence, and challenges in adapting to peers and teachers. The study aims to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and social interaction. Using a quantitative correlational approach, the population consisted of 89 students, all sampled through saturated sampling. Data analysis with Pearson correlation revealed a significance value of 0.012 (<0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.265, indicating a significant positive but low relationship. The results suggest that higher emotional intelligence is associated with better social interaction. This study highlights the importance of developing students’ emotional intelligence to support healthy social interactions and foster a harmonious school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of social intelligence on social interaction among adolescents at SMP Negeri 10 Semarang. Social intelligence is defined as an individual’s ability to understand others' feelings and social conditions, subsequently adjusting their behavior according to theories by Thorndike, Gardner, and Goleman. Social interaction is a crucial aspect of adolescent development, fostering friendships, empathy, and adaptability in school. Using a quantitative approach with simple linear regression, data were collected via questionnaires from the research sample. The results indicate a significant positive influence of social intelligence on social interaction (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The regression coefficient of 0.971 confirms that higher social intelligence leads to better social interaction quality. Furthermore, the R-Square value of 0.587 shows that social intelligence contributes 58.7% to social interaction, while the remaining 41.3% is influenced by external factors. These findings underscore the importance of social intelligence in enhancing the quality of adolescent social relations within the school environment.
